  1. Knore - I got this from a guy up the coast who converted his auto R33 into a manual. From memory his car was a 1993 model series 1 with about 50k on the clock. Nightcrawler - Not sure on that one, gove mercury motorsport a call and talk to trent. He has done a lot of work on 200's and he'll have a pretty good idea. Mercury is located at Wilston. Anyone else who is interested can be sent pics of all the peices.
  2. Hey All I have an Automatic Transmission for sale out of a Series 1 RB25DET. It is in excellent condition and was originally purchased with a view to building it up to handle future mods. Future mods are no longer going ahead so now it is just taking up room. Comes with drive shaft, stall converter and auto shifter. I did have an asking price off $400 - but have since dropped it to $300 as it has to go. I can be contacted on 0421 374 178 or [email protected] or [email protected]

  4. Hey All, Well we have just bought a house and the toys need to go My jet ski - a 1998 model TS770 Artic Cat (Otherwise known as a tigershark) needs to go to make room for all the house goodies. I'll be upfront and tell you that it needs a little bit of work to the carby - due to a slight air leak - but nothing to major. The ski has provided us with hours of fun down on the river and is more than capable of towing water skiers as well as wake boarders. The ski seats two people, has a 55 litre fuel tank, 15 litre storage bin and a 770cc suzuki twin cyclinder motor - i believe it is a 2 stroke model. The top speed of this ski is approx 60mph. Whilst this is an american ski - made by artic cat who are the largest provider of snow mobiles and all terain vehicles in the USA - there is no need to worry about parts. With a Mikuni carbeuretor and interchangable parts from other skis such as yamaha and polaris you are sure not to have a problem. You may ask - why dont i just get it fixed and sell it for like $6K - well the answer is i just cant be bothered - just want to get in to my new house and pay that off. If you have questions about the ski feel free to call me on 0421 374 178 or email me at [email protected] or [email protected] The ski comes with trailer and both are still regestered - allthough i just got the rego papers to renew them which is a total of about $100.
  5. As far as the lights go - there are a few Queensland statutes out there that effect what can be fitted as opposed to what can be fitted and turned on. Then there is also a difference between what can be fitted and where it can be turned on in certain areas. A good starting area to look at is the Transport Operations Acts. These detail vehcile safety - when refers to lighting and bullbars and seatbelts etc. The Transport Operations (Road Use Management—Vehicle Standards and Safety) Regulation 1999 (TrantOpRUVSSR99). Part 7 of this act deals with lights and reflectors. Some useful sections: 91 Interior lights A vehicle may be fitted with interior lights that illuminate any interior part of the vehicle. 104 Other lights and reflectors (2) A vehicle, other than a police vehicle, must not be fitted with a blue light except with the written permission of the commissioner. So this section pretty much rules out having blue neons. BUT then you have the following: 111 Certain vehicles used for collection or exhibition purposes This part does not apply to a vehicle built before 1946 that is used mainly for exhibition purposes. "This part" means part 7. Too bad Skylines are only "new" cars. Some other interesting laws to note are: Transport Operations (Road Use Management—Road Rules) Regulation 1999 219 Lights not to be used to dazzle other road users A driver must not use, or allow to be used, any light fitted to or in the driver’s vehicle to dazzle, or in a way that is likely to dazzle, another road user. Maximum penalty—20 penalty units. 225 Using radar detectors and similar devices (1) A person must not drive a vehicle if the vehicle has in or on it— (a) a device for preventing the effective use of a speed measuring device; or (B) a device for detecting the use of a speed measuring device. Maximum penalty—40 penalty units. (2) Subsection (1) applies to a device whether or not the device is operating or in working order. 291 Making unnecessary noise or smoke (1) A person must not— (a) start a vehicle, or drive a vehicle, in a way that makes unnecessary noise or smoke; or (B) wilfully start a vehicle, or drive a vehicle, in a way that makes unnecessary noise or smoke. Maximum penalty—20 penalty units. Example of subsection (1)(a)— Driving a vehicle in a way that causes noise or smoke because of— (a) disrepair of the vehicle; or (B) the way the vehicle is loaded; or © the condition, construction or adjustment of the vehicle’s engine or other equipment. 299 Television receivers and visual display units in motor vehicles (1) A driver must not drive a motor vehicle that has a television receiver or visual display unit in or on the vehicle operating while the vehicle is moving, or is stationary but not parked, if any part of the image on the screen— (a) is visible to the driver from the normal driving position; or (B) is likely to distract another driver. Maximum penalty—20 penalty units. (2) This section does not apply to the driver if— (a) the driver is driving a bus and the visual display unit is, or displays, a destination sign or other bus sign; or (B) the visual display unit is, or is part of, a driver’s aid. Anyway i think that is enough - as you can see i am very bored.

    Get A V8

I get a fair bit - my plates are 33PSI. I wasnt trying to suggest that I am running "33 psi" but that i have a "r33 turbo". One stupid chode at Harry's before I got my FMIC yelled out "how do you run 33psi without a cooler" My immediate thought was "how the hell could you run 33psi in a skyline even if you did have a FMIC?"
  8. Hey Drew I was down there last night when you called Trent at about 7:30 and he was going to wait for you to bring your car down. I'm not complaining about how my wolf system is going as i knew there was always going to be dramas. But i remeber looking at your dyno sheet and it looked like a heart rythem - up and down all over the place. Mine was like that and the only way i could fix it was to replace my ecu - hence what i am doing. Given how your dyno sheet looked - i am surpirsed your car even made the power that it did. Having said that i am sure Trent will work something out.
  9. Hey All, (I'm not complaining here - just hoping for answers) Ok i have picked the car up from Mercury after having the Wolf installed and the car constantly stalls when slowing down - in fact it wont even idle. Mercury was trying for hours to fix this and are going to look at it again on Friday. It's like the IAC (is that it?) isnt kicking in - any thoughts? As for gains - on the standard computer the car made 157rwkw and with the wolf it has made 187rwkw.
  10. Hey Jaqule I believe they do but either call or drop them an email to be sure.
  11. Hey Melv, Thanks for the stupid comment - it is good to see that there is some real constructive comments being made on the thread. Your deductive reasoning is purely original and I think unique to all the other individuals who no doubt read the post. Keep it up - originality is all we have. Also incase you misunderstood the theme of this post as well - I was being sarcastic Oh and everyone else who asked about the wolf3d - it is the latest plugin - version 4.
  12. Hey All, I am going to be speaking to Trent this arvo - he is giving me an update on how my wolf3d install is going - so I’ll run possible start up dates by him then. But obviously before we put anything in stone we would need to know who exactly would be interested in attending etc so that we all know that it'll be worthwhile. Also - as for the quality of work these guys do - I wouldn’t be sending my car there if it weren’t for the confidence I have in these guys. Trents own vehicle - 200SX features in the latest edition of Fast Fours - From memory it makes about 240 rwkw, has four stage boost control and I think it ran a high 12 low 13.
  13. Hey Not to worry i managed to source the only brand new pluggin wolf3d currently available in oz through the northern territory. So all is good now!!! Thanks for your offer anyway nismogirl.
  14. Unfortunetly i dont have a manual so it wont work in the auto. How much would you want for it ?
  15. Hey all, Is a long story but i need to get hold of a series 1 R33 ECU in Brisbane - whether it is working or not (prefer not working) - need to get the wiring plug out of it! If anyone can help : 0421 374 178 [email protected]
  16. Yeah Wados thats my baby being used as a guinea pig - Trent told me that as these guys are not wolf retailers atm that it will be a good test for them - the good thing is that the tuner that starts there the day before my car goes in has actually done the wolf system before - just not under the Mercury Motorsport banner. So heres hoping it all goes smoothly Trent said they will put a write up on the net and in the newsletter about my car and the results they achieved - it currently got 157.6 rwkw so i am hoping for at least 180 with the new ecu. Fingers crossed!
  17. Hey Squizz, I dont want to blow my own horn here but I actually put it to Trent as being a good idea so that forum members can get down there - meet the guys and possibly get that little bit extra service and that slightly cheaper price My car goes in there next week to get a wolf3d, fuel system and brake upgrade and the guys really impressed me with their level of knowledge, professionalism and courtesy. So i guess it's kinda a two way street - we win by knowing we are dealing with a reputable organisation and they win by strengthening their profile within the performance products and services market.
  18. Southside sucks balls. Only cool people live on Northside Amen to that! So how about I go back to Trent @ Mercury and see how every second wednesdays would go? That way if people want to attend from the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast then it wont be a weekly ordeal. Hell if it is too much hassle to organise then i'll just host a fortnightly BBQ at my place!
  19. Hey, I put one in my car just alst Sunday and then went out and did some 400m times - it seemed to be pretty good and as it runs straight of your ecu it should be quite accurate if you remember to enter in the variables - especially for tire size! I have an auto and it said my best 1/4 time was 14.91 @ 147KM all my other times were like 15.08 , 15.10 and 15.11.
  20. maybe the fact that your car is idling at 300rpm?
  21. If Thursday nights didnt fizzle out due to a lack of destination and a general feeling of "i cant be bothered" then what was the cause?
  22. Well i wasnt trying to be ignorant - i think the smiley face indicates the level of seriousness that the comment was levied with - if gold coast skyline owners want to organise a meet down at broad water for the local gold coast skyline owners to attend well thats fine, if sunshine coast skyline owners want to organise a meet in mooloolaba that is fine. So if brisbane skyline owners want to organise a meet in Brisbane then i dont feel its a matter of making forum members from the gold coast or the sunshine coast drive to brisbane. If they want to attend - they can attend. I mean i hear of cruises all the time to BP at coomera or BWCP - too far for me so i choose not to attend - just be good if there was something in Brisbane and pretty central to everything. Besides this thread is designed to see who is interested in doing this and if redline can get enough members to attend a weekly gathering then i am sure SAU after some planning, so as to not waste trents time , could do the same.
  23. I spoke to Trent about that and he was concerned as to the amount of cars that may turn up due to Thursday night already being an established meeting point. His suggestion was Wednesday night but depending on the amount of people that would be interested in this it could probably be held on thursday night. Erin - Its only like 4km's out of the cbd! Have a little back bone! I'll even throw in the 50 cents for petrol lol
  24. Hey All, This is a follow on from the "Hoons" thread but i thought it deserved a new thread for further comment and discussion. I have been talking with Trent at Mercury Motorsport at Newmarket about a possible skyliners night being each Wednesday night. Be a welcome retreat from the wanker factor that seems to arise at venues such as Harry's et al. the nights could involve BBQ's, tech and talk as well as dyno runs. Comments? Mercury Motorsport is located at : 2/278 Newmarket Road Wilston, QLD 4051 Phone: (07) 3352 3363 Fax: (07) 3352 3303
