    Gor Wrap Up

I was the N/A P Plater! And I hate one HELL of a time trying to keep up, my Auto transmission and I had a good argument or two! Was definitely the hardest and the most fun driving I've ever had! Thanks guys! and yea, it's a completely NA RB25DE NEO. No extractors or cold air intake, nothing, at least that I know of/put on there.
  6. Woke up at 5.30 to get my timetable preferences... Still missed out on 1 of them... Wtf?! Too many people are... I dunno... Sigh...

  7. Nice! Told me everything I need to know. Though GTS boy is right in the end, 1.4% makes lil diff considering the 7-12% off that comes out of factory (I'm assuming the speedo is 7-12% faster as to save their asses if the speedo is that tad off)
  8. lol awesome. I was thinking it would be - compared to actual speed, thinking that the speedo uses rpm of the driveshaft to calculate the km/h? Or am I completely wrong? I really don't know, I'm quite curious.
  9. Got new tires today. I understand that if you get a higher profile tire than what's stock it changed the speedo's reading slightly, it'll be a bit off. I was wandering of there's a way I could calculate that mathematically, if there's a set formula? Or should I just get someone with a GPS that tracks speed? It's an R34 25GT so, stock is 225/45/17, I've got 235/45/17s on there now (just the back for now). Thanks! Teir
  10. I'll start by saying that I know very little about it all... but at a punt... I'd look at the ecu before the transmission, as I don't think the transmission controls throttle like that... that's my punt...
  11. Good too see a few more considered answers now, thanks guys. And yea, I can loose traction, done it before, with shit tires in the wet, but I've posted plenty about that already. Looks like I'll be going for $200 Toyos. The tires that came with the car are 225/45/17, but I'm gonna be chucking on 235s as they're ~$50 cheaper and well.. more rubber... Thanks for the input! Teir
  12. Sorry, what state are you in?
  13. How do you go about getting a quote from tire rack? I mean w shipping and all.
  14. Looking at tires myself recently, particularly at RE002s (I think they're the RE-11 on tirerack?) and I can get them here for $245 ea, whereas tire rack was $210 ea last time I checked... Doesn't seem all that viable.
  15. Well the money it is by the sounds of it... Any last comments by anyone? Specific recommendations? My tire guy (family friend) is saying there's a pair of Michilins I should buy that are $15 more than the RE002 if I'm going to spend that much on tires, he reckons they're much better for the price.
  16. Not to sound non-constructive but doesn't ABS only kick in during "emergency breaking", so pretty much when you slam your foot down in panic or just generally really really hard it'll pump the breaks for you... Old school driver or not I don't really see the point in removing it unless that car is for track work, where perhaps would be the only justified place to removed it... But even then... Considering how much trouble it'll take to do after reading the last post...
  17. 5am : Wake up! Borrow milk from a neighbor. Find something to eat for breakfast. Yummy6am : Radio exercise. Grab extra snacks.7am : Kidnap a cucumber and waterboard it!8am : Kid Summer Specials. Salt in old wounds. Lame10am : Pee in the pool, and visit the girl's locker room. Titter. Eat ramen, then run out of the store.

  18. O.O Didn't realize so few worked... Mine work fine... Though it's a series 2 34, would that make a diff?
  19. No name brand? Your mean the RE002? It's one of bridgestone's premium tires.
  20. Ha! Thanks dude, still think it's hilarious for it to take so long to have seen someone SAU... And yours was sparking man, I could see that white shape from the top of the hill just before rezza district, twas a nice sight... Coming to the GOR cruise?
  21. Dude would you really put RE002s on a smart car? (if they even come in a size that'll fit them) I mean, that car barely hits 100km/h with its little 2 stroke engine... I'm just asking if I'm going beyond common sense... BUT... if the consensus it to spend the money, I'll spend it.
  22. So, about to buy a couple of new tires (finally) and I've been looking around for what I want to grab, but unfortunately most of the advice that I've found (particularly on here) is pretty much for the turbo model Skylines and generally high performance cars. Now, my R34 25GT isn't a Hyundai Getz, but I don't think it's really a "performance car" either, so the more I think about it the more I think I perhaps shouldn't be spending perhaps $250 a tire on RE002s or something of the ilk. I mean, I definitely want something decent, don't get me wrong, I want something that will keep me on the road and will most definitely grip in the wet, I'm not looking to skimp. I just want people to tell me realistically what I should be looking at, and if I really am looking at the right mark. Tanks, Teir.
  23. Think you could do it for $275? (both) :-P
  24. Anyone wanna come w me on SAU's GOR cruise in 2 weeks? 18th of feb.
