Has anyone got an R32 Bodyform kit as per HPI issue 45 that I could have a look at. I'm thinking of buying it but would like to see it first hand first.
Also has anyone had any dealings with Bodyform, are they good quality etc.
I use Bridgestone RE-540S. Really grippy tyre as you'd expect from an R Compound. Don't think they would meet your budget though. And the life is short so not too good on a daily driver. More a track orientated tyre.
I've done endless research and cannot find good reason to ditch Stock Intercooler for power under 330rwkw and also standard airbox seems good. Only the snorkle into the airbox could do with some improvement.
Squizz, I had the crusty stuff in the clutch fluid last year. Gave it a flush and got another few months out of it before needing the master cylinder rebuilt. Wasn't too expensive though.
The best thing to do with a GTR is stop talking about it, put on some semi slicks, wind up the boost and hit the track. That will refresh your memory of why you bought it.
I had a similar problem, could not get from 2nd to 3rd without crunch. But not always. Felt notchy etc. Was told the syncro story as well. Turned out to be clutch adjustment and bleeding not done properly. Apparently there is this extra drain line in the clutch bleed system and some air can get into it. Weird Nissan thing. Guys at ABS Sumner Park fixed it.
knore, I understand what you mean. I had the same experience last December, and the car still carries the scare. Although I was lucky it could have been a lot worse. I also drive with a totally different attitude these days. I still go to the mountains for a Cruise and release my "Speed Anger" at the Race Track.
Didn't think you had too. Call the "ABS Brake" place in Sumner Park and ask to speak with Ken, he is the guru of all things GTR. Been to Japan on the Nissan training and also spent a few years on a race team.
We had a track day recently. Short track up at Warwick. Running GTR's, GTS, 300ZX. The Skylines went all day, the 300ZX boiled its radiator all over pit lane after 5 laps. Major cooling problems. And the engine was Stock.
Ok. Well I'll fit the cooler (between the intercooler and radiator) and see how it goes.
BTW I have the owners manual and it says the safe region for the oil is to the line above the centre line.
Squizz. Cool, I'll organise a drive in the next few weeks. I'm going to Melbourne this weekend for the "Show Off" series. I'm having car show withdrawalls since the last decent show I was at was the Auto Salon final battle.
Muz. What is the difference between the HKS cooler and the Trust cooler ?
rb26DETT. Is the temperature going outside specificatiion or is it just getting hot ? What deg would you say its getting to ?
rb26dett, you think the TRUST cooler may not be up to the task ? What experience have you had and what do you recommend ?
Squizz, I have the same problem up around Nebo, temp climbs real quick. We should organise a drive.
Joel, I agree its a tough decision to modify the looks of a Skyline. They are such a tough understated looking vehicle. Although the modification bug and desire to be individual usually wins. I'm trying to design a unique body kit for my R32 GTR, taking queues from about 5 kits and some of my own ideas. Currently at the sketch book stage and learning how to work with composite materials from a guru.
