Hi, The track day has been cancelled out from under us. I will send an email out about it tonight. We do now have May 18th, so anyone who can come to that day instead let me know.

Mark, I'll clarify: Sunday May 22 - Only has about 14 people signed up. It looks like being cancelled. Monday May 9 - Has enough people claiming to come but not enough payments. Past history tells me people are not coming until the cash is in the bank. So this day is also in trouble.

Guys, I MUST have the money by 25 April. Please make your transfers ASAP. I have to commit to the booking 2 weeks before the event at the latest. There are still 17 spots requiring payment.

Ok. I'll start the thread after May 9. I need everyone who can make it to get behind that day to get it off the ground. We will make it Round 1. (not real confident May 22 will go ahead) With classes I have also found that track (slick & semi click) vers street tyres makes a big difference. We could have seperate classes or make it the Street Car challenge and only allow street tyres. How about: 1. Outright Quickest GTR 2. Outright Quickest GTS 3. Quickest R34 GTR 4. Quickest R34 GTS 5. Quickest R33 GTR 6. Quickest R33 GTS 7. Quickest R32 GTR 8. Quickest R32 GTS 9. Quickest R31 10. Quickest R30 What do you guys think ? Oh yea, it will also have to be an event I time with the electronic gear, as the normal sprints are timed by a guy clicking a mouse button as you go past. Not exacly accurate.

Well we could use the lap times from the May 9 run (from those who can make it) as the base line for a challenge for the year. How about after the May 9 run I start a Sticky thread that has the best lap time of the Skylines on each track at Queensland Raceway. We could then have an awards night near the end of the year. That way as long as everyone makes it to at least one track day they will be entered.

I think the writing is on the wall for this day. I will probably cancel the booking soon. I don't see us getting another 30 odd cars in the near future. If you want to run this event at my other track day on Monday May 9, thats cool. We can integrate the day. I still have heaps of spots free for that one, I have to have all payments for the May 9 day by Monday 25, else it will be cancelled.

Problem is you have to book almost a year in advance to get a weekend day. This one only came up because of a cancellation. I asked them about how often a cancellation occurs and they said very rarely. Even the week day bookings are hard to get. That's why I have book the years worth of dates already. I will look more into the Warwick race track and also it will be great once the north coast track opens (bull dozers have not rolled yet, so don't get too keen)

How about I open the invite to all, we make the price $140 so we need less starters and try and get this day locked in. I'll leave this suggestion open for comment for a couple of days then act on the feeling of the group.

The absolute deadline is for everyone to have paid me for the day 15 days out from the date. 7th May. The problem is that I have not confirmed the booking yet as that means a deposit. And I won't do that until the day looks like going ahead and I have most the payments. The down side is until I confirm the booking anyone else who wants to run a track day can rip the date out from under us with one phone call to me to confirm on the spot. My other Track Day is on the Monday 9th May. Maybe we should merge with that date. Else I can open the Sunday date to my other regulars. SmoothLine has put the effort into this day, I'm just helping out. So I'll wait and see what he thinks our next move should be.

yes Impul_GT_R, its at Queensland Raceway. We will probably run the Clubman track for two hours then switch to the Sprint Track. Maybe a session on the National Circuit if people want a run on it.

Excellent. Get them to send me an email and I'll put them on the list. I'd love to see a Stock GTR run, gives you an idea if mods are going in the right direction.

Neck to ankle to wrist non flammable clothing (Jeans and a cotton shirt) covered shoes. An annual QR license which you can get on the day for $55.

How it works: I have a mailing list with everyone on it. When the next track day is coming around I send out an email and the first back to confirm get the spots. We also have a pizza night about 2 weeks before track day for all the new people to meet and for the group to get together. We have a maximum of 40 starters. This forms 5 groups of 8 cars. The cars are grouped based on lap times to minimise overtaking. We only allow overtaking on the long straights. You get 1 warm up lap, 5 hot laps and a cool down lap per session. You can jump into other sessions as the day goes on and people pull out. Typical to get between 30 and 40 laps depending how keen you are. I have electronic timing gear that records to 1/100th of a second. I have also added a trap speed on the main straight. You will get an end of day print-out with all your laps and the best lap of everyone else on the day. Recently I have added track temp and ambient temp to the printout. We are also working on a giant sign so you can see lap times live. You have to have the normal sprint day clothing and helmet. All the rest of the info is in the email I send you when you PM me your details. I'd love to see some regulars make any further comment on the day !!

So far there are over 20 reservations for this day and filling to the max of 40. Cost is $110 Most people do over 30 laps with the really keen getting over 40

jlNewton, you are right. I have been doing the track day thing for a while, and the number of people who claim they will come to the number who actually come is very different. I'm guessing most of you like to drive hard on the street, so being at the track is no big deal. Come out and have some fun in a legal environment, you may be surprised !!! No one is their to judge you, if anyone acts like a tool we will throw them out, its just about having a good time.

This is a seperate day to the 9th May. The 9th of May is definately on and booking up.

Need a heap more Drivers locked in so I can confirm the booking. Come on, 11 guys doesn't make a track day !!!
