  1. That's a bit interesting. A few weeks ago, the fuel light was on. So I put $50 worth of Petrol in my car, at that time $50 got almost 34Lt of Unleaded. Then then next day, I would add some engine cleaning fluid in it. therefore I topped up the tank, but it took only $23 worth of Petrol. Then the tank was full. It also spilled out of the tank a little bit. You guys are saying that it is 80Lt thank. How on earth is that possible. By the way with that much petrol (approximately 55Lt) I did almost 600km (it would be much more if it wasn't driving to work-busy freeway, damn trafic light here and there...etc.) So wehre is the rest of my fuel tank.
  2. To be honest I do not know what brand my immobiliser is. I guess it is a cheap one. The thing is this issue didnt happen for a year after I got this car. Rather it happened after the battery issue. I would definetely try to press different buttons if I had more than one. this one has only one button which locks and unlocks the car.
  3. Thanks for your response. Could you please provide a bit more detail in regards to what ecu stands for and how to reset it. I do have an after market immobiliser fitted (it really sucks as I think it is a cheap one). However I had never had such an issue before. I have had this car for over a year, then this happened when the battery died.
  4. Hi all, A few weeks ago my battery died (obviously it was the factory one as there was not even a single word in English; all Japanese). It didnt give me any warning at all. I have already changed the battery, but some strange things happened beforehand; headlights remained on, although I had turned them off and removed the key, then they went off, but right side indicator remained on. After changing the battery, there is still one issue which has remained permanent. When I unlock the doors, side indicators start flassing (as usual), flash three or four times and normally they should go off. However in my case they remain on (both right and left side indicators). When I open the driver or passenger side doors, they go off. If I open the trunk, nothing happens (remain on). When I locked the car, everything is fine (side indicators flash a couple of times and go off. Now the question is WHY? Any help or info would be highly appreciated. Cheers
  5. Hi Mate, I do have my 300GT over a year and I'm with Justcars. I do pay around $850p/y for comprehensive insurance. Just involved in an accident which was not my fault (a stupid lady run into my back) and the claim process was quick enough. I got my car fixed and havent paid a single cent. SO you might wanna consider it as an option.
  6. the normal one is one bar below 1/2. Depending on the weather. But it should not be that high. Seems like time to change coolant.
  7. I lov that power button and I think(not sure) it just gives you more power and smooth transition+more fuel consumption of course. Once you turn it on, you will see that your car will respond quicker and the engine sound will change slightly (sounds good anyway). Owhen you press that button, it becomes green or yellow, cant remeber exactly what colour it was. About the second question, it is pretty straight forward, if it is automatic, it simply displays 'D' and if you switch to manual, you will see the numbers. I have never seen S or M. I have 2001 300GT too. About the snow mode, I'm not sure whether you have ever had a chance to drive on snow. Basically, you would not use brake while going down a slope, you would rather use engine brake to slow down the vehicle. Imagine you are driving your car in automatic mode, the car will speed up while going down. Then you need to brake to slow down. This button will possibly do the job for you so you would not need to brake. On the other hand if you brake, the wheels might get locked and then you might loose control. Once again thats what I think.
  8. I have recently changed the front lower ball joint on the right hand side of the vehice which connext the contraol arm to the stub axle. I had a look around to find that ball joint to relace it, but not much luck. There was actually on on e-bay, which looked quite different to me (the original one and the one on e-bay look quite different). I called almost every possible places in melbourne to see what the available options were. Nissan service said they would relace the whole stub axle which costs around $900. Then I found a second hand one (stub axle with the ball joint) and replaced the whole thing (costs $300). Here is my concern, when I looked at the old stub axle and the bloody ball joint, It seems like there is no way you can relace the booth if it is the problem which was in my case. The boot was torn and leaking grease. Does anybody know any after market ball joint brand that will fit into this stub axle. I'm planning to sell it.
  9. Here is my BOY. I just love it. I was actually planning to buy a coupe, but couldnot find one at that time.
