lol didn't think it'd be that costy, i dont mind having some generic cd / radio player in my car
-
2000 dollars? Err thanks but no thanks lol thats way over my price limit, might just get some generic headunit installed for a couple of hundred, thanks!
-
So this is the picture, it's not a GTV, it's an R34 1999 coupe non turbo, the bits circled don't work. The radio has a narrow frequency range, the HUDU doesn't come out despite pressing open on the bit below it, and the cd player bit ate my cd up, whirred a bit and the cd didn't come out even when i pressed eject.
-
any recommendations of what parts and what shops to go to here in melbourne?

Hey everyone! Just bought my R34 and drove away with it, when I got home I started playing around with the headunit, now I'm not sure if the headunit comprises of the radio, TV, CD player etc, but these things aren't working (I didn't realize before I bought the car). The radio has a narrow frequency up to 90khz on FM. I've read the stick to install that thing that increases the range, how hard will it be to install? OR should I just get a new headunit as in replace everything with a new aussie radio, a new working CD player and a new screen? To be honest I don't know if there's a screen, because I pressed TV open button, nothing opens, so maybe theres no screen? In addition, I put my CD into the cd player, it slowly sucked it in, no music, just a bit of loading sound and nothing happened. I pressed eject, nothing came out, so the CD-player pretty much ate my CD up. How would I fix these ANNOYING problems, I mean, I know nothing about cars, I've built computers etc. but how hard would installing a new headunit including the radio and CD-player be? Really desperate for some advice / help....

Ok I'll just wait till I pass my manuals next month thanks for all the help!
-
Yes it is a factory fitted clutch, yeah my neighbour is an experienced mechanic, he took it for a test drive and said it was fine and just takes a few days to get used to the car so hopefully it's not too much of a big issue

Hi I'm a new manual driver, but my dad drove the car and he had the same problem. I just received my car that I had bought last week for the first time, it's a nissan skyline R34 25GT coupe with manual transmission. So this is what happens, gear 1 fine, rev it to 3000 rpm, change gear to gear 2, release the clutch, JERK, then smooth then rev it up to 3000 rpm again, change to gear 3, release clutch, JERK. Now I've experimented with this a little bit, when I slowly release the clutch, the jerking is quite minimized to an extent where sometimes there is no jerk. The jerk feels like it pulls you back for a split second, then you are running smooth again. Any ideas to how I can smoothly / consistently change gears rapidly without this jerking problem? Or is it entirely about the transmission? Help appreciated!

alright thanks, i guess a spin around the local streets won't be bad, but not taking it to far distances like from home into the city everyday =D EDIT: How often do skylines get pulled over?
-
Yep, in NSW its P2 you can drive manual / auto, in VIC cause victorian vicroads are bastards, after you gain full license so 4 years on P plates, you can drive manual, and i'm definitely not waiting another 3 years to legally drive my car.
-
Yeah I wanted to get manuals but my parents were like no no manuals, auto please auto...since they were paying for my lessons I have no choice. Now that I've got a car, I need to start learning again, though it's mainly changing gears and stuff, road conditions, control etc I'm cool with to pass the test.
-
I don't know if you're trolling me, but I'm a male and you shouldn't make assumptions like that.

Hi guys I'm currently on my P2s with no record of any fines, accidents or anything, I have just bought a manual skyline, but only have me auto license (have my manuals booked early next month), if I drive around in the manual non-turbo factory standard non-eye catching skyline, will I get pulled over and get license inspected, lose my license and get a massive fine for driving without a manual license? Will they ban me from driving forever and cancel my manuals test next month too? And will they confiscate my car since I'm unlicensed to drive a manual on the spot? Reason is, I'm really keen to drive my new car that I bought as it is the first one for me but I can't wait for me to pass the manuals test next month, what do you guys reckon? Put up some green Ps and drive it like no tomorrow? Be good and put up some Ls and only drive it with licensed drivers?

i am well aware that there are faster cars out there, i just want something that can go moderately fast and skylines do the trick for that amount of money i put in. also i like the look of the skyline so i'm happy, in addition, i have already bought the car so no use crying over spilt milk. so it seems that it will do it in 8 seconds, thanks for you help guys!

Edited with model

Hi guys, what would be the 0-100km/h time for a N/A nissan skyline manual coupe (untouched and unmodified)? I did a search around these forums, google etc couldn't find anything. EDIT: Model is R34 25GT

Okay, so I have found a coupe spoiler that was originally made for a grey r34 GTT coupe, the owner took it off and is selling it to me, now I just want to know how easy it is to remove the low spoiler and refit it with the new GTT spoiler that I bought, will it take welding? Glue? Sticky tape? Holes that don't match? Screws that don't match? Rainy day leaks?

R34 Gtt Coupe Spoiler/wing
Grey replied to theponyremark's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Is it still for sale? I need one to replace a sedan spoiler on my friends coupe -
Okay, but how can I help my friend remove it and adjust the height ?
-
this car is actually a coupe, why would they have a sedan spoiler on a coupe?
-
My friend has got this problem with his R34 Grey skyline that has a very low rear spoiler. He wants the spoiler a good few cms higher so it stands out more. Does anyone know if this is actually possible without having to buy a new spoiler? If worse comes to worse how much would it take to buy and fit a new spoiler onto the skyline? Here is a picture of how low the spoiler is:

Spotted yellow r34 at 8.43am driving towards flinders at melb central and Elizabeth street

Saw a yellow R34 coupe that had a black bonnet with number plates "GFORCE" on the way to monash uni in the city today at around 8am (on elizabeth street melbourne central), i've seen it twice so far during this week, wonder if the owner uses it to go to work or something?

Importing Through "import Factory"
Grey replied to Grey's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Oh sorry, I meant that it would be too hard for you to find a car at that price because I was asking for too much. Don't worry thanks for the e-mail and no I didn't receive any auto-message reply. Furthermore, last week I went to "import factory aka kamikaze imports" the dealer wasn't in...what the? So they took my details and promised to give me a call, and guess what... call never came, so to be honest the customer service there was kind of slack, it's kind of the customer chasing the dealer for a car rather than the other way around. Thanks Kristian for your email! =D -
Importing Through "import Factory"
Grey replied to Grey's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Okay, so it's been more than 1 week now, I'm pretty sure Iron Chef would have replied to me by now. Either: 1) He's not interested in me because my budget is too low for importing a 25GT N/A so he can't be bothered with me as it isn't as profitable to him or 2) None of my messages have been delivered to him including 2 emails, 1 SMS and 1 SAU AU private message over ONE whole week ago. He told me one and a half days and it's not that I'm impatient or anything, it's just that I want to get the details ASAP, pay Iron Chef, and wait it out while the car is being imported to Australia. The bits during the import process that I can go fast in I will go fast, the importing shipping bit (the slow bit) I can wait it out, so please don't nag me about the impatient talk again because I'm just being realistic.
