A white one RDR-030. He bought the motor less DR out of the trader today, so shall be back on the road in a few weeks, in a red on black DR.

well I blew my motor hugely, so figure I might as well build a tuff fj which is gonna take some time to do being an apprentice and all. And I was a passenger in another DR which decided to take on a tree and lost a couple of weeks back.

Hrmm well I see one quite regularly, seems as though it has hit a tree sideways quite solidly , and another which looks like it's gonna sit doing nothing for the next 6 months in my front yard waiting for a new motor. :jump:

I got the s13 set up running. using some wheels I have not sure on the offset but they are about right on a 180B and running 30mm bolt-on wheels spacers with around 3.5 degrees camber they sit flush at the top of the guards at the front and stick out a fair bit at the bottom. I drove the car around for a day with the front wheels in the guards just and the rears almost with the rim itself in the guards with about 70mm of ground clearence to the chassis rails and a lot less for my exhaust. Looked damn tuff but I chewed out a drive shaft CV in under a day so jacked it up a good 1 1/2 inches the next day. Still sits damn low, but plenty of ground clearance for everyday driving.

Running those times you'd wanna hope it's near stock, or else it was a waste of money.

I shot gunned the cage, and sway bar once he comes up with a price. YAY. Looks like I got my hands on a free VG30 BB turbo for some downlow fun until I can afford something better. 1 week and she'll be on the road with any luck. Get off your arse Shane ya slacker. The wheels arent impul but some thing or other racing made in italy. Dont ask me, I just love them I'm the anti-dished.

Added a few little bits and pieces to my car of late, just thought some people may be interested. Should all be ready for the next drift comp at mallala october 9th. Has all the usual mods cooler, boost, exhaust, with the current addition of coil overs, huge breaks, bigger gear box (RB20), repacked LSD and few other bits and pieces. MY DR30 What you all think? She's a bit of a coon dog but ya get that with me.

I have just done this myself. One thing I found is that I had to modify my strut tops to get any decent amounts of camber, as the s13's are 180 degrees out. Just elongated all 3 holes in the camber tops. I have just sorted r32/33 brakes on to DR30 struts for a mate too all that is needed is a 10mm spacer. and hubs turned down slighty.

Nope no problems at all with clearence, The only the thing I can see is that if you are looking to take the shifter off which I may be for short shifter, the hole isnt long enough forwards to get it out, the box may need to be dropped or hole made bigger. I havent got the interior console in yet, which may take some sorting out to get it all sealing with out much road noise, but we shall see how I go.

Got my RB20DET gearbox mounted up to the back of my FJ now. I'm happy. Standard tailshaft should be able to be used just need to cut the dust shroud of the front of it, gearbox mount sits about an inch back, and the shifter comes out about an inch forward. So it's all pretty straight forward stuff, 3 elongated holes in the bell housing and it bolts straight up. Slave cylinder and clutch fork is the same as Fj stuff. Gotta love nissan interchangability. Coil overs and r33 brakes mounted in the front of the car too, which I think needs be raised a little as the wheels sits in the guard thats still jacked off the ground too, although with tein HE's I don't think they should move much when put on the ground. Anyone know of any brands which supply decent sized swaybars for r30's? Whiteline only have bars which are smaller than what I already have.

That would be the pressure releif valve. It vents at anything over standard boost, you have to either weld it closed or replace it with a plug. And there is no factory BOV.

Yay got myself a set of coilovers. Gearbox should be going in this week some time if I get off my ass, diff should be getting done next weekend, It's all coming along slowly very slowly. Just need a tailshaft made and thats the drive line done. Then all the rest of the suspension... and the list goes on. Ya could just run an A-series points dizzy and put it on gas. Dont laugh I have seen it done before with a huge super charger hanging off the side.

I find it a bad thing searching for DR30 parts on yahoo. You find so many cool things that you can never get your hands on, makes me sad.

Tax time= coil overs for me finally, and rear cross member bushes. Then it should only be a couple more months till I got everything finished and I'll be back on the road.

ahh well looks like standard rear brakes for me. Now to find some rotors decently priced.

While on the topic of brakes again just wondering if anyone has looked into a brake upgrade for the rear, I have the fronts sorted but to do the rear as well would be nice but not necesarry, either that or I need to buy new rotors which arent cheap at all, so I would like to spend the money going bigger as bigger is better in my books. Anyone?????

Well we shall soon see if my old school motor can make 200+ ,with very simillar mods to you except cams which are staying standard, which is what I'm aiming for at the moment. Only time will tell. And by the way I made 150RWKW standard comp old crappy plugs that needed changing, 3" exhaust, 12-13psi, crappy cooler (2 RX-7 top mounts welded together). And probably made more torque than an RB20 from what I have heard about them ( not a whole heap). So what makes an RB20 better? Sorry just love my FJ.

Yeah mine was running a little lean on the 150kw run which didnt really suprise me. I think it was 12.8-.9 or something along those lines. New comp will fix that though when I finally get one.

Mine pulls to 120KMH at pretty much 7500RPM. I wonder what it's gonna be like with RB20 Gbox behind it. Hrmmm And yeh your reading sounds pretty good, mine pulled 117RWKW with 3" exhaust and filter. and 150 with cooler and a bit more boost. Next step 200+ on the way there.

Yeah I was thinking of something like a big backwards vent for more air flow. But yeah as I said I don't know how this will work, My mate does a fair bit of fibre glass work and is gonna give me a hand so have to wait and see.
