  1. you saying the slicks are only good for 5 laps or the V710's?
  2. price has a lot to do with it as the AO50's or Hankooks are 2000 to 2500 vs these which are 1100. I tried to run these in the SAU Nats without much luck and you will have to run as a slick tyre in supersprints. Different subject with CASM but i think they need to look at the rules as there is a smaller difference between a semi slick and slick tyre now.
  3. Duncan, i think you have them mixed up as the V710's are the newer ones i thought
  4. yeah you can get breakaway systems for hydraulic brakes, seem to see it more on boat trailers though.
  5. can i suggest that you do go electric brakes rather then the cable brakes on hire trailers, even if you brake the one axle rather then the two required for over 2000kg (only one axle required to be braked under 2000kg) the brakes are a lot better to control and a wise very small investment over the cable braked system.
  6. looks like the V8's will be back at Eastern Creek in August this year,
  7. here it a touareg on car sales for 23K http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/volkswagen-touareg-2005-12270235?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=0&eapi=2&__N=1246%201247%201252%201282%204294962746%204294962415%201216%20937&silo=Stock&Range=Price:Min,Max~0.5&sort=~Price
  8. Same a what Duncan is saying, over 2tonne towing you need the breakaway system and it also costs a fair bit more to register which is why a lot of trailers are registered as 2000kg total but can actually carry a lot more. If you are planning on towing a total mass of greater then 2000kg i would suggest getting a trailer to your needs as if you have an accident and are carrying over the legal weight you are meant to carry it could void your insurance on the tow car. (just don't tell anyone if you are towing with a falcon...)
  9. nice results and hope you are enjoying the "sweet" smell of E85 pwr If i could make one suggestion with you spliter is to try and get it as close to the ground as possible, around 60mm if you can. The faster and smoother you can get that air under the front the better. Plan on having to take it on and off a bit but it is worth the effort, use some quick release fasteners on your front bar to make it easy if you continue to go down the path in your pic's.
  10. santa fe 2000kg braked TDi motor is rated at 145kw and 436nm @ 1800rpm Falcon 2300kg braked straight 6 - 195 and 391nm Turbo 6 - 270kw and 533nm @ 2000rpm
  11. Plenty of big names and cars in open and club. will be some quick times, any news what the minor changes in track will do with times or you think the new gp track will be used
  12. Will be interesting to see the lists. What other teams are coming from overseas this year? Will any other yanks be coming over?
  13. 6 speed auto on the fg is rated to 2300
  14. vesh, G6E turbo is great check my posts a few pages back for fuel econ and feedback - although check with Harry first
  15. i reckon it was SAU and HKS26T that broke the story first!!!
  16. i thought a z32 also caught on fire?
  17. kind of spoils all the fun though that we know now, although it will allow other people to now bench mark improvements in performance against them at an event that will be certain to be very entertaining. How long you reckon it will take to sell out places this year in open? 3hours last year so maybe 30min this year? You would have to think there will be a Que at High Octane @ 6am in the morning like a line up for a Justin Beber concert.
  18. oh i thought the nitto was released in 2006 vs the R888 that was late 1990's early 2000's so compound changes would be something i thought might change. Would not mind hearing back about how you go trying them - where was the "cheap" price from?
  19. interesting stuff, the R888's i used to use donkeys ago but found the A050's and even the RE55's to be a better tire. I know it looks like the photo is the same but you would have to think that seeing as the R888's have been around for so long that the Nitto's would be an "updated" version?
  20. Interesting about the ditto. what have you been finding?
  21. Keen to hear more feedback as well. Tyres are so expensive are slicks any better or faster then semi slicks
  22. Haven't you had your fair share of broken bits as well Duncan?
  23. Probably not although would love to have a crack for the "atmosphere" of it all, kind of one of those events you put on your bucket list to do. good to see though i kicked this thread back to life Bring on August!!!
  24. you thinking of entering?
  25. i am surprised noone has jumped on the bandwagon about the entry date and conditions of entry that have been posted up yesterday? http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index.php/important-competitor-information/
