  9. Sounds like a great event but just checking the date this looks to be the same weekend as Powercruise in QLD and the Coats Hire Temora 1000.
  10. nasty crash and good to see the guy was ok afterwards. I have had my front suspension break after coming over the bridge at Oran park before, no rolling off the road but i reckon if it happened at speed on the straight i would be in the same boat and just a passenger. These were tein coil overs so it can really happen in any car either kit or something you buy from a major manufacturer. I also was driving a car "somewhere" where we had been doing top speed runs in a 350kw light weight car and as i slow down and take a corner, the rear toe arm snaps and i come to a tire smoking spinning stop. Just be careful to use quality parts and check over things regularly especially if you take it to the track often. Don't give up on your dream as i reckon building a kit car would be awesome
  11. where are the cup holders?

  13. Cheers, hopefully it will help other people plan ahead to attend open days like it does me which is why i have gone to the effort it.
  14. In regards to braking simple answer is trailer brakes and no not the cable type but set up properly with electric brakes. you would most likely see the same result with 1800kg of falcon and 2000kg or more towing weight slamming on the brakes at 100klm/h on a wet road as you would towing with a 4wd towing the same load. That is why you drive to the conditions.
  15. the rexy one i had already added in, updated the outlook calendar with the alfa one now cheers and keep em coming, matt
  16. try this for the Office calendar webcals://calendars.office.microsoft.com/pubcalstorage/1rbpxt2z2965339/Boxheadmr%27s_Track_Day_Calendar_Calendar.ics
  17. Guys, last years i could not edit the dates once more information came though so have done two things to keep track of dates this year. First is publish my outlook calendar My Outlook Published Calendar Follow your Microsoft outlook help file on adding in a web calendar. Second is to post up the dates on the blog so i can update as i go along Link to 2012-track-days-nsw-qld-vic Hope i am doing the right thing so if someone wish to copy and past into this thread thats OK as well but for the most up to date information go to the blog or add the calendar into your outlook (works well at work as well )
  18. on the subject of luxo 4wd's anyone know what those Merc's go like towing (not in the slightest part of my budget)? Saw one with a horse float on the way back from Canberra this afternoon and i din't know that could tow that much weight. Think it was a M class, looking at the specs they have two Diesel models - ML 300 CD I BlueEFFICIENCY 2,987cc, 6-cylinder, 150 kW, 500 Nm Direct-injection, turbocharged ML 350 CD I 2,987cc, 6-cylinder, 170 kW, 540 Nm Direct-injection, turbocharged The Gl class is impressive as well GL 450 CD I Luxury 3,996cc, 8-cylinder, 225 kW, 700 Nm Direct-injection, twin-turbocharged
  19. Would not call the g6turbo a value for money option as its 60k odd new but compared to the q7 its a bargin.
  20. Sorry typed snap on phone and meant sn
  21. If you went with a API SNAP oil then would the suggestion based on the above be to not have to go crazy with the thickness. Changing often seems to be the key but i would change often on petrol as well so should be no real change.
  22. Its not made from corn in Australia.
  23. Yes fatz. car on the back along with the luggage for two blokes who like to look there best.....took up the back seat as boot was full even with filling up the car on the trailer we nearly ran out of room.
  24. Sydney to phillip island and back towing with all tools and spares as well as 100ltrs of fuel and 3 blokes in the car falcon g6turbo was using 91Oct so reckon could have gotten it lower
  25. Mobil 1 meets it as well
