  1. but would you be entering for the chance at wining some money or prizes? Personally I would enter for the experience or if you are good enough for a chance to win against some pretty serious competition.
  2. I would imagine hiring Eastern Creek for two days, all of the extra costs and no doubt these overseas cars would not have paid themselves to come over would explain the costs for entry. I doubt if they would re-coup there investment by entry fees alone and it would only go some way to paying the bill. It made the decesion for me easier as i can't get that much past the wife along with a new set of tyres, brake pads and the ascioated fluid changes etc all means i will be watching from the side lines. That and i am a soft co** Matt
  3. Unfortunatly you will find that it will become expected as she is used to it. It never ends...
  4. I actually have problems with not getting enough heat into the engine and around town would only see max of 70deg on the engine oil during the summer months with the sensor measuring in the sump. On the track it doesn't get above 90deg and i am doing some pretty quick times. Do get higher intake temps which i want to fix by some ducting around the intercooler to front bar and radiator as well as a cold air intake of some kind becasue this would be having a fair bit of an affect on power levels. I have had to make up a panel to block off the airflow to the oil cooler when driving around the street (until i tookit off at the track and lost it) to try and get heat into it, the thermostat seems to be working corectly and even replaced the spring just to be sure. The oil cooler is an Earls type and sits on the passenger side utilisling some of the old std intercooler brackets and mounting points which is right in unobstructed air flow. I think this is the main reason it works so well and perhaps something for other people experiencing issues with oil temps on the track. Matt
  5. Looks like a great build, what is the weight of the VH45 compared to the SR20 ?
  6. Looks like the PI is a two day event with a practice in beforehand which would be nice. Thankyou for letting me know. Matt
  7. Hi, Been told to take some holidays at work and was thinking of taking the car for a spin south to Victoria and trying to catch an event or two, looks like the Hillclimb is on at Haunted Hills on the Saturday which sounds like fun but wondering if anyone knows of any other events that week for any of the tracks (PI would be great) or even some meet ups in Vic to check out the seen. Really want to make the most of my time if possiable, Matt
  8. I submitted a disbute so should be up now (was just then) Matt
  9. I was just going to suggest looking at your photo the pads are fine (or at lease the outside one).
  10. here was something i put together thinking about how good the track was
  11. not sure how this could be less time consuming but put up some photos.
  12. You have to do a fair bit of custom work as well with the trailer guards doing it properly and the foam chips away after time and you really should make up some liners to create a barrier as best as possiable. Matt
  13. Not far away, wasn't the typically peace out type from the hills but more the angry burbon drinking dick bikie want to be. Matt
  14. Hi, Put these together a little while ago onto you tube for how i modifyed my rear guards. Drivers Side Passenger Side
  15. does seem pretty expencive for the amount of time and being a latter time it might be hard to get photos in the dark? Maybe the extra expence is for special flash photography?
  16. we had a little incident whilst on a drive a little while ago in grafton, we had just filled up at the servo and i had headed up the road ahead to KFC as we were having lunch there. Pulled up and parked the car and as i am getting out of the car this passenger in a black holden ute driving through the drive through says F'n Wanker looking at me. It takes me by surprise so i am a little stunned and he heads out of the KFC and drives off as i wave to him goodbye (in hindset this was probally not a good idea) the driver turns around and comes back into the KFC and the passenger jumps out. The passenger looks like a bikie type guy with his JD shirt on, beard and black sunglasses - you know the type. Starts cracking it and walks towards me then pushes me knocking my sunglasses off my head, smell the alchol on him and realise he is half cut say's he is going to punch my head in and i keep telling him that he is welcome too but that there is about 10 ppl around and he will be in a bit of trouble with the police. THis keeps going on for about 10min or so out the front of the local KFC with lots of going back and forth without any fists being thrown and then he ends up jumping back in the car and leaving saying he knows where i live and he knows ppl that will get me etc (i am not even from this town and he has no idea who i am). About 5 min latter 6 cars from the group i was traveling with turned up and looked at me wondering what was going on. This was to become called Bogan Ville NSW.
  17. I would say depends on the car you are driving as it seems with the evo's the rougher you drive them and make them slide around the faster you go. With a FR car if you get the tail out then it limits the power you can get down and the exit speed is affected so i would say no. FF rear out would be OK as aids in turn in with the nose of car moved around to point out of the corner sooner to allow you to get the power on earlier. Matt
  18. Could always call in the local council rangers to inspect it,i think they have other busineses as well don't they?
  19. Cootamundra is where they do it at, i think you will find that it is easier with airstrips that don't have a lot of traffic particularly during the week.
  20. The atmosphere at the track was great, going around the circuit it might have given a different view then seeing it on the box but i was left impressed.
  21. I went for a ride around the track - not in the 34 but in the safety car and yes it was very tight, the concrete walls made it feel even tighter and i think they will make some changes next year not only to the course but some of the things like bridges and access areas around the paddock area. One thing i found with the whole event coming from a view that they should have spent the money on Eastern Creek or another circuit for NSW was that i felt it ended up being a very good event and i was glad i went along. The feeling was a lot different and drew on more of a corperate feel then i have experienced at other tracks and events like Bathurst, i think this is a move in the right direction for the V8 supercars and will see them gain more support from the mainstream audience. Matt
  22. Was watching the action yesterday and in between the races the R34 drove past on the track, lucky bugger. Did you get a full lap?
  23. I actually just got back, speaking to the guys @ T and E there is a few other workshops around where there factory is. JIC was one of them, not sure if this is just the service factory or the actual factory as didn't get a chance to check it out. JIC Japan A lot of these larger places don't sell to the public but through dealers so addresses on web sites seems hard to work out, Matt
