  1. thats not bad in the patrol, i have found that i can sit on up to 120 on the flats and straights slowly speeding up and going up the big hills whilst the car will do 100 i go into the slow lane and usually do about 90 trying not to let it kick back another gear.
  2. Pete, your comment about the fuel economy got me thinking what does everyone else get towing? Maybe to give some indication Tow Car = Holden VZ V6 Trailerd Car Weight Estimated = 1200kgs Ltrs/100klm = 13.9 Matt
  3. last i heard it got the finial nail in the coffin
  4. sounds good duncan, what did you upgrade too?
  5. 600kg that is very light.
  6. guys, wondering if you can give me some advice on which electric winch to have for the trailer, i am looking through the web and there are some many. What specs should i be looking at to pull up the car? Rolling it would not be that heavy but thinking if worse comes to worse an crash or cause something that won't let the car roll what will be able to drag it up onto the trailer? Car - S14a i have not weight it but would be around 1200kg or less. Matt
  7. ....i think you might find it will be the same or close.
  8. knowing that the majority of stuff going to Darwin goes either by rail or boat my guess is anything from the east coast from Brisbane down will cost you an arm and leg to get sent up.
  9. I have recently purchased the Race Technologhy Dash 2 after owning the DL1 data logger unit for some time, with some help of dumhead becasue i don't have the time ATM he is installing it into the car and wiring the associated sensors. The thing i liked about the RT package is that you can log anything you want and with the display you can display split and running lap times as well as any sensor data. Along with this you can add in the video package and review everything with all the logged data, it uses a 20hz GPS sensor and is accurate within 1m and you can get it accurate to within 0.1m by running another program that uses the data from other sat's. The dash is really easy to read and has some very bright LED's that are adjustable, it also has the indicators lights, park brake, oddometer that is non resetable as well as alternator and warning lights so is completly street legal if needed. Great little units. Matt
  10. ....you could also add crappy going forward as well. Took out a nice chuck of a stone wall in Goulburn when i got a little too close on the swing to get around the corner.
  11. .....so ended up getting sensors from Meridian Motorsports in Melbourne. 1 Bosch Water Temp 3 Bosch Oil Temp 2 Delco Air Temp 1 VDO Oil Pressure All with conectors, the Water and Oil were under $17 each, Air sensor was a little bit more and the Pressure was $99. Have to also get made up a remote mount to put the pressure sensor onto the firewall to insulate against some of the vibration. matt
  12. hi, i think the dates have changed now haven't they?
  13. car looks good dane.
  14. ACA is no good, they only have the OEM ones and nothing that i can use on loggers. Tired to use the Bosch part numbers and the guys told me they only do the OEM ones and that is it. I could probally use some OEM type one as long as i could get all the specs on their resistance etc to plug into the loggers data so it knows what it means but might be more effort then it is worth. Brad, What was the name of the other place? Matt
  15. thanks, will print out the bosch catalogue with the part numbers and give them a buzz.
  16. Hi, Here is my trailer that i purchased a little while ago, it is 15ft with electric brakes, ford hubs and 100mm drop axles. Endend up being $4000 from B&M Trailers, they are selling the standard ones for $3100 which is 14ft a lot higher and cable brakes. Matt
  17. brad, who is ACA ?
  18. After some different sensors to add into the logger but looking for somewhere to buy the sensors from, ideally somewhere that charges a fair price? Can anyone offer some suggestions (australian?) that they have purchased from before and were happy, looking at the Bosch site i could follow up with a dealer but when i tried a few dealers i got frustrated trying to get prices and part numbers right with them. Ideally somewhere that actually knows what they are talking about would be great..... Matt
