  1. I too am surprised about the comments with the DS2500's??? Due to current brake set up i am using endless NA-R's which i have found to hold up quiet well. They warm up quiet quick and will hold on for quiet some time before getting some ever so slight fade but usally only after 15min full pelt around the track. They would be a good pad for super sprint and then drive home on them road use.
  2. Yes, at least this one won't be as costly as the last one.......
  3. Good video and nice driving.
  4. It was a good day, enjoyed myself a lot and big thanks to the powerplay team for orginising everything. A lot of hard work had gone into orginising all of the behind the scenes stuff for this event and it is a shame to focus on the negatives. I don't think i have ever seen so many GTR's in the one place and the atmosphere was electric. I actually did my fastest times of the day in the Grid race and the feeling of a full grid start was awsome. Great Work Guys
  5. The Toyo R888's come in three different ratings. 1G, 2G and 3G Bascially, 1G is a racing tyre where you are doing lots of laps 2G is a supersprint tyre which comes on relative quickly but can go off a little (and by a little i mean a very little) after a fair few laps 3G is a hill climb tyre and will come on after you get to second gear..... they are super soft tyre and not recomended for any kind of circuit work. I am curently using the R888's and have found them to be an excelent tyre, we are going to do a back to back comparo on the same car on Friday with some RE55's so will let you know what the differences are. Cheers Matt

  11. No it doesn't as the oil is under presure. Just make sure everything is out of the way so if you hit something it isn't the first things to get damaged.
  12. Seems the best place to get it done in Sydney for METAL parts is Astor Electroplaters (Aust) Pty Ltd 93 Malta St Villawood NSW 2163 ph: (02) 9727 5622 Electroplating There is another place in the Nth West of Sydney that does plastic car parts but i can't remember the name. Hope this helps
  13. Hey don't knock Woodenbong And yes it is a very nice road and is in a lot better condition then years ago when it use to be a bloddy goat track with many accidents involving logging trucks and family cars . One of the best stretchs IMHO would have to be Thonderbolts Way from Glouster to Whyalla. The road over the MTN is AWSOME and then the run to Whyalla has some VERY fast section that very high speeds can be easily reached. Pitty it is 4hours away from sydney Maybe we could start a list at the front of this post with all of the sugestions and then vote on what we all think are the best roads ???
  14. PM sent after viewing Oil Cooler and price offered.

  16. I am interested in the Oil Cooler, do you have the sizes and any pictures. Please send to [email protected] Regards Matt
  17. They are talking about the HILLCLIMB event and not what the topic is about i.e. a Drift day at Eastern Creek on the 19th of October
  18. This may sound silly but what about using the power fc controller and patching into the back of it with the serial cable ? Wouldn't this get around the problem of the check sum and allow access to the software? I may be way off but though i would just toss it up there
  19. Initial Drift Australia will be holding a drift event at Eastern Creek on Sunday, 19th of September, 2004. The event will be held on the Eastern Creek Skid Circuit, a concrete low friction surface. We will be running 2 sessions. The first in the morning will run from 9am to 1pm on a wet track. This is a perfect opportunity for those wanting to "give it a go" to get out there. The second session, run from 1pm-5pm will be on a dry circuit. You may register for either one or both of the sessions. Should you only wish to participate in one session (either wet or dry) the cost will be $60 to members and $75 to non members. Special Requirements As a member of CAMS, Initial Drift will be requiring that all drivers and passengers wear long sleeve shirts and pants covering ankles to wrists to neck. Appropriate footwear must be worn along with a CAMS approved helmet (any AS helmet will do). These requirements are not open for interpretation and are ultimately for your safety (http://www.initialdrift.com.au/forums/view...php?p=6608#6608). Please ensure that you bring the necisarry gear as you WILL NOT be running without it. CAMS Licensing For insurance reasons all drivers must hold a current CAMS license. Should you not have a current or valid CAMS license, that is OK. Initial Drift will be issueing daily licenses for $20. Passengers will need to purchase a Passenger Licence and this can be had for $30. To regester or find out more information please visit www.initialdrift.com.au
  20. I think there will be too much drool over the R31 and it will clog up the intake. Pete you might have to take along a Wet&Dry Vac
  21. Track Fee: $150 Paying Members ($180 Non-Members) Limited to ONLY 20 PLACES. Initial Drift Australia will be holding it's first official skid pan training day. This unique event offers an unintimidating and beginner friendly environment for drivers new to the sport of drift to learn how to do so in a safe and controlled manner. We will be limiting places to 20 people only and due to the added cost of the hire of the skid pan this explains the cost. Make no mistake it will be a training day with instructors taking you through the basics and moving onto more advance skills later in the day. Held over a full day on the Eastern Creek Skid Pan facilities, drivers will will be challenged with obstacles and objectives that will allow the first time drifter to become competent in the art of drift as well as allow more advanced drivers to refine the more technical aspects of their technique. The wet low friction surface also makes this extremely car friendly with much less stress placed on the vehicle than an equivilant competition surface. Notes Though not an enforced requirement of attending the day, it is recommended that you use a vehicle that meets the following specifications to benefit from the available support and tuition. - Rear Wheel Drive - Manual Transmission - Functioning Limited Slip Differential A CAMS license is also required for this event and will be available on the day for a small/nominal fee ($20). This day is aimed at the people wanting to learn how to drift and for the other people wishing to hone there skills on the skid pan. Places are limited and have been filling up quickly so please pre-pay to confirm your place on the day.
  22. Yes you can drift in an auto, one of the initial drift members owns a jzx90 chaser and it is an auto he has the advantage of an 2-way cusco diff but still manages to show up a lot of people with long controled slides into and on the exit of corners and switch backs.
