RB48 stroker...that would be nuts. You could run a T70 or T88 on that. Anyone put the 4.8 into a skyline?

Hey guys, I've had this intermittent ignition problem for a while now but its started to get a bit worse. Basically when I turn the car to ignition, sometimes I'll get that high speed tick like the battery's flat, and the lights will be really dim and flickering on the instrument cluster - other times everything is solidly illuminated and she starts perfectly. The other issue that I've got, which has happened intermittently for about 3 months is I will turn the key to turn the engine over and I will get this staggered crunch/clap sound coming from under the bonnet. It only does this sometimes and the rest of the time it operates with no complaining whatsoever. Sometimes I'll also turn the key and have nothing happen for about 3-5 seconds and then she will fire up (with or without the crunching). I've been told that its the starter motor but I don't think this would be affecting the voltage to the instrument cluster etc - is a starter motor likely do affect system voltage as well as the general starting of the car? I've retained the low mount position for the bigger turbo and all heat shielding is in place and tight. I'll probably have to bracket up the pod as this is just floating but FMIC was put it in with no cutting to front bar etc, and all other mods are concealed.

Yeah this is the best facility in Perth. Their prices are amazingly decent as well. Being a past 3rd yr apprentice mechanic now working an office job - this is as good as it gets!

Just spoke to Brant and told the bloke the scenario. The guy asked whether I had tried the second remote and I explained I thought it wouldn't be programmed/calibrated but he said they are both programmed upon installation. Bloke said to buy new batteries and try them in both remotes and go from there. I think this is probably sensible haha.

So I saw a guy with a 2000 Toyota Camry in Mirrabooka Square carpark last night having his car examined by Forensic Police. The car looked like it had been sprayed with an aerosol but wasn't damaged at all and the officers were dusting the engine bay for prints etc. I couldn't help but laugh because in the back of my mind I was thinking "engine rapist", "engine molester", "serial engine murderer". It's like the crime took place in his engine bay LOL Don't suppose anyone's seen this type of thing before? James

Try driving an N/A, RWD, 1 tonner V6 Rodeo. That thing comes with a locked diff as standard, chirps out something mean and is an utter death trap in the wet! In the dry though that thing is awesome fun. I'd say your mild manned N/A would be safe with a cheap weld!

Happened ever since you've had the car? Aftermarket stereo? Anything else electrical that has been added since you had the car? Pretty hard one...

I've noticed that I'll lock my car and sometimes it will lock and indicators will flash, sometimes it will just lock. Another thing is that sometimes I'll have to hold the button on the key for 2-3 seconds to get a response from the car, other times it will be an instant response. I was wondering whether its got something to do with my remote or the reciever in the car? James
