Firstly thanks heaps for the reply's I am not as honed into the tuning side of cars as I would like to be, but I will tell you as much as I can. - The tune was done about 1 month ago and they tuner's printer was stuffed something along those lines, I couldent get a print out. He showed me the results on screen. They were sharp curves and smooth all the way to 220kw then it was like they hit a wall. He said he coudlent sus it out, I am not sure if that is any kind of indication at all. - Its only got a stock fuel pump but wasnt showing any signs of leaning out at all, he he stuck a gauge on to check the pressure and said there was heaps. - He did advance the exhaust cam a little I am not sure exactly how much but he said it made a bit of a difference. - It has got a factory frount mount but I assumed that would be ok for a bit more power than this, but I am far from an expert. The car is in a few pieces at the moment with me trying to clean everything up and looking for any leaks or anything a bit dodgy. It should be all back together by then end of the weekend so I will try and get the dyno print out if he has it, otherwise I'll get another dyno. Also whilst this has all been going on I moved to darwin right after the engine was put in. (truck drivers stole my audiobahn amp, and my tyres bald as bald when the car got here, again another story) so air temp is like 32 deg all day, and there is a vast lack of tuners and dyno's around!
  2. Hey all. Just a quick run down. I have an r32 GTR when I originally got it it was a bit of a slug so I took it to a certain workshop best not to mention. to see if they could tell me what was wrong with it........ well, a set of turbo's (which they told me were 420h when infact were 320), power fc (with an incompatable hand controller) a tune (that made 192kw at all 4 on 18psi) and a 6k bill at the end of it. the engine started knocking 2 days later, but that is another story. So i ended buying another rb26 (5k) , engine seems tidy supposable about 60'000k's since a rebuild. I swapped all parts over and is in the car now did compression test I cannot remember exactly what it got but it was fine. but now after another mechanic has tuned it it is only getting 220kw at rw with the following mods at 14psi. - pods - cam gears - garret 2860r (small ones) - split dump's and full 3" exhaust - Power FC - apexi AVC-R Thats all i can think of at the moment. That is not normal is it? just after some opinions and maybe some suggestions. The engine wasnt leaning out just wouldent go any harder. Even the mechanic said he was expecting alot more from it. cheers guys

  4. Have a few things for sale I did a transplant on my gtr and have this stuff for sale. I pulled the engine out because it started to knock in cylinder 5. It would need to be rebuilt. The engine I bought to stick in was setup to go into an r34 so now I have that gear on my old engine i.e converted sump, engine mounts. - RB26 - SOLD! Complete engine except turbo's. (Block, head, plenum, converted sump with trust extension and extended oil pick up, most of the wiring, r34 engine mounts, a/c compressor (not attached) starter motor (not attached) also plate at the back modified to suit r34 gearbox I think.) - STOCK DUMP PIPE'S - $50 stock stock stock, comes with heat shields and sensors. - AFTERMARKET FRONT PIPE - $100 There was nothing wrong with this bought a stainless one didnt realise this was on it. - R34 NIZMO SINGLE PLATE CLUTCH AND LIGHTENED FLYWHEEL - $600 This came with the new engine and wouldent fit my car, not sure how much mileage was on it but have pictures of it.   6. Mate I am not sure. If anyone is able to answer that, it would be good. They are rated up to 400hp according to the print out from garret but I am not sure if that is all they are capable of.

  8. Hey all, I have had this gtr for about 6 months now and that whole time it has been in work shops with people trying to find out why it has such a boost lag. Anyway I got it back from the 4th person to who looked at it after changin turbo's and computer and picking up a nice 6.5k bill and still not fixing the main problem. I Had it for 4 days and yesterday it has developed a knock so now I am trying to found out who people recomend to get to work on their gtr's, no one I have found has been much good at all. just after some recomendations thanx.   10. I have imported 3 cars now for myself and 2 for family members. I did it all threw the brokers at www.boostimports.com I would more the gladly recomend them to anyone. They are only a small group but will source whatever you are chasing and make an effortto make it easier for you as they did for me. They also also know alot people in the trade over here for mods and so forth afterwards so that is always helpful aswell, just thought I would chuck their name up if anyone was interested.

Hey all I have been having this problem since I got my car from japan have sent it to endless workshops and noone seems to think there is that bad of a problem. after looking at some of the other people gtr's on here and their mods, I know there is a problem. Mine is a 1990 GTR with twin garret 25/30 turbo's brand new, powerFC apexi avcr 3"exhaust (from cat I think) tuned at 18psi and has 220awkw THE PROBLEM! The car runs ok i spose not great but has insane boost lag. and a hi idle. (approx 1500) when you take off and put your foot down or even on the highway at 100 and you put your foot down the boost gauge slowly makes its way up the 18psi and the car slowly goets faster and faster. It seemed to me like it was a air leak or a air blockage somewhere but everyone I have taken it to dosent seem to think so. They have done all their little tests and so forth. The computer reads no sensor problems either. If anyone has any idea's what it could be I would really like to hear some suggestions. It has been to 4 mechanic's now and is marginly better. for the money that has gone into it. AsH

Full padded rollcage for a r33 Got this out of a car that was imported had no use for it so it is for sale. good quality cage completely padded completely bolts together. just have to drill hole in floor to bolt it in. $600 Call 0408064230 email [email protected] or pm if you interested.
