Greg, take the advice of one who has just done what you're about to embark on. I just finished my B.Com from Melbourne Uni, and you think first year's a bludge, and it is, but don't slack off too far, second year's really important because it's what's assessed for vac work and for grad recruitment too. (sorry to sound like the nagging parent, but I'd hate to see people got through the crap I've just been through with looking for work and stuff)
Just make sure you do your tute work, it's piss easy in first year, just pay attention during QM1, 1A and 1B, (it's a big ask coz it's a shit boring subject), plenty of time for skylining. And for god's sake, get laid during O-week, there's plenty of college chicks missing home and need somebody to comfort them (god I was an asshoel then! lol), but it's what it's allllll about!!!!! But go out to the parties and stuff, and as many balls as you can get to (really good place to pick up)
But don't slack off too much, I'm in the shit coz I slacked off and didn't get a grad spot, luckily I just started a new job today so I'm one step closer to buying my 'line
Okay, there's my pearls of wisdom, just send me a PM if you want more tips on surviving your B.Com
