  1. I'm gonna be honest and say that I'm buying a skyline for four reasons, it's quality, price, performance and looks. If my car attracts women, so be it. I work hard, wear decent clothes and do my best to look my best, the car will just compliment that. Skylines get looks, (Commowhores get smoked, then ignored ) but most girls aren't that dumb to be with a guy with a cool car if he's got a face like a spanked ass and teeth like a group one winner and thinks deodorant is an optional hygene tool. If so, god damn, he must be hung like a group one winner too! my two cents
  2. Free pooltable???? nah, I gotta pay for it outta my own pocket!!! (cheapass parents lol), but at least I got somewhere to play it, I wouldn't be able to rent somewhere as big as our new house lol
  3. as some probably know I'm looking at getting an R33 later this year, can you send me a PM too please?
  4. I'm planning on staying at home for another two years to save money for a car and a place of my own. I've got an incentive to stay home besides saving a crapload of $$$, we've got a new place and I get my own home theatre and pooltable
  5. Doesn't this put extra stress on the gearbox though? Excuse me if I'm wrong, my automotive knowledge is pretty non-existent (but gotta start somewhere right?) and if so, isn't it better to blow the clutch every so often than the gearbox?
  6. Can the GTS-Ts do this too? Do they have the same ceramic turbo? And the same boost restrictor for that matter?
  7. Greg, take the advice of one who has just done what you're about to embark on. I just finished my B.Com from Melbourne Uni, and you think first year's a bludge, and it is, but don't slack off too far, second year's really important because it's what's assessed for vac work and for grad recruitment too. (sorry to sound like the nagging parent, but I'd hate to see people got through the crap I've just been through with looking for work and stuff) Just make sure you do your tute work, it's piss easy in first year, just pay attention during QM1, 1A and 1B, (it's a big ask coz it's a shit boring subject), plenty of time for skylining. And for god's sake, get laid during O-week, there's plenty of college chicks missing home and need somebody to comfort them (god I was an asshoel then! lol), but it's what it's allllll about!!!!! But go out to the parties and stuff, and as many balls as you can get to (really good place to pick up) But don't slack off too much, I'm in the shit coz I slacked off and didn't get a grad spot, luckily I just started a new job today so I'm one step closer to buying my 'line Okay, there's my pearls of wisdom, just send me a PM if you want more tips on surviving your B.Com
  8. gotta wait until I get the job akeenan, unless you gonna trade it for an 89 celica lol actually, I got my eyes on a white GTS-T series 2
  9. Well, I finally have a legitimate reason to convince myself to buy a Skyline. I was on the most dodgiest road I've ever driven on, the one from Geelong, that goes through Bacchus Marsh. It's all two lane rural highway, and there's always tons of trucks going up and down the road. I was going to a job interview and was being kept up by these slow-a** trucks. So I just thought to myself "pfft, this'd be a good time to have the Skyline" I can finally justify spending 20K on a car that's gonna put my insurance premiums through the roof in one word... overtaking power! I want my 'line ASAP, I'm sold I just wanna know if people had similiar experiences, what made you decide to get a high performance car? (not necessarily skylines)
  10. Yeah, I'd be interested in an R34 GT-T, after a few years with my 33 first. How much will the EVOs go for?
  11. shame shame shame!!! as Hinch would say  hows about an Audi A4? the 1.8T can be modded and 90s models are relatively cheap, has all the leather and mod-cons ya want too if you're keen on the pug, wait a few years for one of these babys http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_...ts/2_06_pug.htm
  12. I'd say turn up in good clothes, speak well and get a mate with a good car to drive you over, the sales guy'll think you're loaded. If they ask what you do for a job, say an accountant or something lol
  13. I was going to import an S13 convertible just to catch the last few months of summer, then sell it to finance an R33
  14. yeah I've had that "ohhh shit! I'm farked" feeling... when I was 5 and broke mum's pricey vase lol  or everytime I lock somebody's keys in their car... don't trust me with your keys people! you've been warned! lol
  15. I'd like to see things go to circuit. I know there's a lot of cost involved, but I do hope to one day get a cams license and go in a few track events and maybe even a rally, like targa stuff. I'm sure I'm not the only one with these ambitions, and to see clubs and the culture in general support this, will go a long way to making these dreams reality
  16. maybe we can hope that it'll relax the costs of importing under SEVS? ...pfft I doubt it
  17. you can take away our threads! you can take away our right to use your name! but you'll never take our right to unintentionally identify you and use inuendo!!!!! lol damn I'm having fun...
  18. damn.. just when I thought SAU was gonna be famous... or is that infamous??? I hate to see maturity ruin a good laugh (seems ironic doesn't it? lol! )
  19. Does what MINES is saying in this thread give anybody the indication that "the powers that be" traded his intelligence for parents with money????
  20. I don't usually support vigilantism, but if the law doesn't do something about this thug, god help him coz I know somebody else will it's a sad world, David Hookes or not, this was an attack against an innocent man, justice needs to prevail
  21. I think they're the same car. Unless the GTST was for the R32 which had the 2.0 litre RB20DET instead of the 2.6 RB26DET check this out: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=18508
  22. it's funny, I just finished a commerce degree at melbourne, and a couple of my business systems classes used RMIT and their computer system as a case study of "what not to do when implementing an ERP"... good to see my lecturers were on the cutting edge lol
  23. my sympathies go out to the Hookes family and friends. it's a sad day
