  1. Depends which way it skips mate. But more then likely it would skip a tooth following the direction of rotation (clockwise from the front) which would mean retardation of which ever cam skipped. On your engine obviously this is intake. Yeah i would be concerened if that carbon is more then a couple though. See if it rubs of with your finger.
  2. Do a compression test. Otherwise connect the dipstick tube to a manometer and check crankcase presssure.
  3. Ouch man looks nasty. Id pull number 5 out and look at getting another piston. That is depending on bore condition of course. Looking at that engine for 500kms it seems to have a lot of carbon build up? Dunno could be the pictures though.
  4. Will be interesting to see how it goes against the gsxr.
  5. Yeah got a few people so far. Glad to hear your getting a bike Phil. Will definitly have to go for a ride when you get it.
  6. 4 pages and no answers lol
  7. Lol best of luck mate. Your better off doing it yourself or taking it to another import fan who you trust to do work on it for you. If you were in townsville i would say give me a holla when you need it but i no longer live in cairns so i cant really help.

  9. Any one out tonight
  10. Yeah Phil hold out till jan
  11. Oh and anyone who wants to be in the cruise list. Pm me
  12. True shit Phil? What are you looking at going on with if you dont mind me asking?
  13. Yeah totally. Just give them to me and i will handle them.
  14. Yeah Ill be the poc if everyone is. Cool with it
  15. Bugger missed yas maybe we should make a cruise phone list?
  16. Yeah thats about right. The oil helps the rings seal thus giving better compression. Generally you should do 2 tests, one dry testing the rings then another wet i.e. small amount of oil in the kits. The second test checks whether the valves are seating correctly. I would run another flush through the cooling system and see whether that solves your issue. Is the sludge getting worse/staying the same each time u check your radiator cap/
  17. Yeah that's what I thought initially too. But I dropped my fuel line off whilst it was cold and there is still furl there so it's not draining to tank. An performance isn't hampered so no starvation. I replaced my ayc, cleaned the aac, changed to a oem bov, cleaned the afm, adjusted the idle, calibrated the tps, checked the coolant sensor, checked for boost leaks, replaced the fuel filter and lines. It's got me stuffed. I'm just going to start replacing things now. First up is aac and coolant probe.
  18. Yeah the power cut issue went away after I resoldered the afm. Yeah your start issue sounds like mine. It's buggin the crap out of me. Any more ideas jez? I might get another aac and see
  19. All of them. And you will need a standalone to the 25. And nistune is best bang for buck in my opinion.
  20. From what ive found out through research is easiest way is to swap all the sensors out on the engine to the 20 ones and run the 20 loom with a nistune. Then you will only need to set up a vct controller which is pretty easy.
  21. No smoke, When it starts it farts around 300 but once i have jabbed the throttle it goes to 1400-1500 at cold stand still. And i've replaced the cold start valve ( one under the tb). I would think if it was the aac it would have an issue every start and struggle to idle? It idles sweet at 600 as per the manual and doesn't falter when a/c is switched on/off. Yeah if i start it with the throttle a bit open it starts sweet. And i haven't touched anything with timing and once the engine is warm it idles perfect, runs perfect. Only thing timing wise i can think of is that the cold compensation on the computer has changed.
  22. Do a compression test again. Give us the results. Could be a piss poor assembly problem. Bit of rag not letting the head seal properly. Who knows.
  23. Even after the tps was adjusted same issue.
  24. Could be that. Do a teekay test on the coolant and see whether its your headgasket. If the head has no cracks i would be looking at pressure testing the cooling system and seeing whether there is a pressure drop.
