This. If you do buy the JDM make sure your confident of driver/launch history. Or have many thousands of dollars ready in case you blow the transmission.

The PFC allows access for many more parameters to fine tune I always thought. From my experience the stock s15 turbo is good for around 185-190rwkw depending on dyno (with injectors, fuel pump, FMIC and ecu tune). For an extra 15rwkw I don't think its worth it. Get a larger turbo (then your in 220rwk+ range and worth it then. ps try melbs15 forums. There is a lot of activity there and they seem to be a friendly bunch. You will also find many people selling cheap parts eg PFC, boost controllers etc. Good luck and enjoy the car.

I can plant my foot half way through the on-ramp to the freeway and by the time I hit the actual free way I can be 150km/hr and my gf thought I hit 100 really quick. To tell the passenger you just hit 150 and the shock on there faces tells you it was smooth and deceptive. And when a magistrate (someone who is way more intelligent in the arts of law and judgement and way more experienced, hence why he/she gets paid ludicrous amounts of money) decides the outcome for the OP....I think...no...I'm 100% sure he/she has made a far more appropriate decision than what some of the tools on this thread would decide for the OP.

I have had my s15 for 9 years. Won PCOTY (2002 I think?) no other car under 100k can claim that achievement. A drivers car. Chassis balance is extremely fun. Its a modders dream car. Its also a police defect magnet like no other. Mine has 230rwkw and as my daily I just cant see better value for money anywhere else. They look far sexier than skylines but the rx7 is still a sexier car than both.

I think some people really have no idea how scarily EASY it is to hit 40k over speed limit in the R35. Not defending or justifying such behaviour. Just saying. (put your foot down for a moment and bang your a crazed criminal. Its that easy! I guess then R35 owners really need to remember what kind of car they are driving! (mental note for me)

I see many a skyline driver perving at said boobs to receive middle finger from owner of said boobs But I've heard from more than a handful of girls HB rating 8 and above have nothing pleasant to say about the skyline car or driver of skyline cars. As for WRX I don't think even a girl rated below 5 find the shape attractive. Pick the lesser of two uglies. As for rarity. I can't walk through a carpark without passing a skyline every 3rd parked car...maybe every 4th. Heap more 34s than a couple years ago...maybe they are dirt cheap now? But if you have coin for a beautiful 34 GTR than definitey get that as I enjoy seeing a sexy 34GTR on the road.

This is the only 'SKYLINE' that I would ever want to own or drive. Very nice!

A veyron is also easier to drive than my daily driver twin plate s15 (and my gf who drives a mazda 2 has no issue driving it as well). I guess my mum could drive a veyron as well...not sure what that means though....I'd say absolutely nothing.

Do you really want your 'dream' car to have that many kilometers on it? Its 16 years old man. I guess your a mechanic so you would know how many thousands of dollars you need to put on top to fix/overhaul certain areas.

So at the end of the day...what is the final retail on a 2012 GTR here? US jumped 20k I believe...

Interesting thread. I was at a petrol station and came out to have a few people looking at the R35. They start talking to me (unfortunately) and one guy pointed to his mate's skyline, not sure what it was...some 33 or something, parked nearby and said to his mate 'try hard sports car, common as bird shit POS' then pointed to my car and said 'THAT is a REAL car my friend. You may as well drive a prelude and give up'. The sad thing is, the skyline driver did not defend himself. It got me thinking...and I pose this question to all who own skylines (GTR or GTS or NA or whatever...makes no difference) It seems to me that there is a lot of hatred towards, not so much the car itself, but the driver of the skyline. Why is that? Why do so many people hang shit on skyline drivers? Sure ive seen plenty of wankers in skylines BUT ive also seen wankers in many other models. Why so much loathing for the skyline guy?

I thought you were going off the 2011 model. But yes your right in a year (so 2012) you could very easily pick up a 2009 or 2010 model for $130k or less.

I'm in. I rarely see another GTR on the road. The amount of stalkers (and dangerous driving, over-revving skyline drivers with thumbs up and dopey grins) we get with one R35 on the road...I shudder to think 4 or more GTRs together. I'm working till 12.30 on that sat but will meet up wherever you punks are.
