  1. Hey guys, looking for a little help! Noticed that my rb25 has started using a lot of oil! I'm getting a big puff of blacky grey smoke out the exhaust when accelerate (seems to be when i accelerate quickly from statonary or rev it in neutral to 4000rpm ish) Also noticed that my bov is spitting out a little oil too? Is this likely to be the turbo seals? If so am i aswel getting a new or refurbd turbo? Also as im a bit tight on cash at the moment is there a turbo anyone can recommend that i can get for around 1000 dollars? Any help would be fantastic. Cheers James

  3. Going by pictures i think you are right, anyone know for sure the difference between safc 1 and 2. Other than 1 being older and doesnt look as good!

  7. The SAFC might be the route for now till i have the money for the ecu route. If its cheap and easy to do then why not??? Ecu can come at a later date. Just want to get her running better/quicker than she is at the moment/

  11. So basicly if you want to up the boost on these you NEED to change the ECU. What sort of ECU should i go for? Im not going crazy with the her, just looking to get nearer 260ish bhp.only put out 186bhp and was runing very very rich! was very disappointed and the guy didnt really help much! His advice has got me nowhere¬!!!! Cheers
  12. Hi Guys, Just had the r33 dynod yesterday and man was she running rich(which i kind of knew). Guy advised me to up the boost so i went out and bought a manual boost controller which i installed.Before i put it in the car was boosting at 7 psi with the restrictor, so i set it up to boost at around 10psi which should be ok however seems to be hitting some sort of fuel cut / boost cut and i just loose all power. Someone mentioned a fuel cut defender today??? no matter what setting i put on the controller it seems to hit 'the cut'. Can anyone explain to me whats happening? and if possible how do i overcome this problem. Cheers James
  13. exactly right mate! I did know you would get a bit of suction noise, didnt expect it to be as loud as it is.
  14. Thanks mate, just put installed new boost gauge and its peaking at 9psi, i think the stock gauge is just f**ked and i just started panicing over nothing. I'm still going to do this test over the weekend to make sure tho Thanks Again James
  15. Sorry for all the replys in a row....But when changing the BOV the only other thing i done was change the standard air box to a K and N pod filter (dont think this would cause boost problems tho.lol)
  16. Oh and the motor is running totaly fine other than the fact its under boosting
  17. Just put stock valve back on, still under boosting but sound like when i come off the throttle its dumping to atmosphere??? This didnt do this before i changed it to the GFB BOV??? Any ideas? It could be obvious but im kind of new with regards to turbos. Cheers James
  18. Thanks mate. Oh and i know you do get BOV where you turn the top by hand to adjust (mine doesnt do this) is this what you are talking about? Im pretty sure when i first installed it, it was making more of a dump to atmo noise, now it seems to be more of a light flutter noise????

  20. Are you talking about the vale itself or the mounting bolts? Dont think you can tighten up the valve and the two mounting bolts are tight! cheers
