After being granted a one-year extension to his contract with the team, it seems Mark Webber will struggle to keep his seat at the reigning Constructor's Champion beyond 2013. The 36-year-old Australian will be with the team for the seventh consecutive year this season, but he has already been put on notice by Red Bull's special advisor Dr. Helmut Marko. Marko has made it clear that Red Bull was unhappy with Webber's performance at Interlagos, where team-mate Sebastian Vettel was competing with Ferrari's Fernando Alonso for the driver's title. Flavio Briatore, who is involved with the management of Webber's career, noted after Brazil that "the only one who helped Ferrari was Webber." "Mark was not optimally co-operative in Brazil," the tough Marko confirmed. According to German publication Sports Bild, several drivers are being considered for a potential drive at Red Bull, with Toro Rosso's Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne mentioned, but Marko is particularly keen on Nico Hulkenberg. Another German, the 25-year-old Hulkenberg recently signed a one-year deal with Sauber and has also been linked with a move to Ferrari in 2014. "The statistic speaks for itself. There is no reason to think the balance of power will change." The Aussie signed a one-year extension to his contract after winning at Silverstone in July, but recently said that finding the right time to retire would be a difficult decision, although he has no plans to quit as of yet. "I haven't been there yet but it is going to be a very difficult moment, no question about it," Webber told GP International magazine. "I suppose it's just about getting the timing right - not pulling the plug too early, knowing you have more to give of yourself, or going too long and not being quick enough or struggling to do the things you used to be able to do. Jules Bianchi or Adrian Sutil will partner Paul di Resta at Force India next season after Sebastien Buemi and Jaimie Alguersuari were both ruled out. The quartet were all linked with the seat that was left vacant following Nico Hulkenberg's departure to Sauber, but former Toro Rosso duo Buemi and Alguersuari are no longer in the running. According to Swiss newspaper Blick, Buemi has been informed by Force India that he won't be offered the seat while Spaniard Alguersuari is set to move to BMW's DTM team. That leaves reserve and test driver Bianchi and Sutil, who was a member of the Silverstone-based squad from 2006 until 2011, as the two remaining candidates to partner Scot Di Resta. The famous Brabham team could be set return to Formula One if legal issues surrounding the rights to the name's use are resolved. Sir Jack Brabham, an Australian now aged 86, founded his eponymous team, which later raced under Bernie Ecclestone's stewardship, in 1960. In 2009, a German automotive supply company named Formtech claimed ownership of the name, filing an official entry for the 2010 F1 season. The Brabham family contested the claim in court, and though the situation is not yet fully resolved, Jack Brabham's son David says there is a possibility the Brabham name could be heading back to Formula One. "Right now this is a very sensitive issue," he told Totalrace. "But, yes, there is the possibility to bring the team back (to F1)." The Brabham team last raced in 1992 with Damon Hill at the wheel, but has a proud history, winning four drivers' titles in 1966, 1967, 1981 and 1983. It also won the constructors' title in 1966 and 1967. David Brabham added: "For now, we have a predicament behind the scenes, involving the rights of the name. In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, Ecclestone has conceded for the first time that if further action is taken against him then his running of F1 would likely come to an end. Speaking about what CVC would do if he was charged, Ecclestone said: "[it] will probably be forced to get rid of me if the Germans come after me. It's pretty obvious, if I'm locked up." CVC has already been pondering a succession plan for what happens when Ecclestone is no longer in charge, but the man himself does not believe its actions are cause to feel that it is looking to ease him out. "They said they had hired a head-hunter to find somebody in the event that I was not going to be there - if I was going to die or something. Daniel Ricciardo says next season will be a crucial one for his career as he bids to prove he has what it takes to land a Red Bull seat for 2014. The Australian will be starting his second full campaign with Scuderia Toro Rosso and will go up against team-mate Jean-Eric Vergne once again. With Red Bull's bosses eager to find out if either of the youngsters has what it takes to deserve a seat at its main team, the Australian is not hiding away from the fact that there is now pressure to deliver. "I'm aware of that, and I know that my targets in 2013 will have to be more ambitious," he said in an interview with Italian magazine Autosprint. "I won't hide and I say that I must and can obtain a podium. I will push to the maximum to make it. "My Achilles heel is that this year, in the first part of the season, I wasn't aggressive enough in the races. In some aspects I was the opposite of [Romain] Grosjean. Now, however, I think I've found the right balance in showing my capabilities." Ricciardo also says that he has high hopes for Toro Rosso's new car, which he reveals will not be a straightforward evolution from this year's STR7. "I can tell you I've already seen it and, when looking at it closely, it's very different from the old one," he explained. "I think it will be better than the one I've raced with this year. Pedro de la Rosa may have gained many plaudits as McLaren's test and reserve driver but he isn't holding his breath about a return to the team. "One must know how to move on and look forward, but it is true that I am a realist and everything that has happened has been very unpleasant for everyone who works at HRT," he told Marca newspaper, "There are very few years in my career that I've eaten grapes knowing what I was going to do next year. So it's hard, but it's normal. "I took a road and I live with my decision, so I'm not going to expect McLaren to throw its doors open wide, especially because I've left them twice.
