  1. Lewis Hamilton has been forced to backtrack after accusing Jenson Button of unfollowing him on Twitter only to realise he wasn't following him to start with. ''Just noticed @jensonbutton unfollowed, thats a shame. After 3 years as teammates, I thought we respected one another but clearly he doesn't," Hamilton said on his Twitter feed on Monday. "Funny thing is, we are STILL teammates! All good tho, I plan on giving this team & fans all I got til I cross the finish line in brazil!!!." An hour later, though, Hamilton was forced into a U-Turn in front of his 1.1 million followers as it turns out Button never followed him to start with. "My bad, just found out Jenson never followed me. Don't blame him! Need to be on Twitter more," he Tweeted. http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/8147648/Lewis-U-Turn-On-Perceived-Snub lol noob..
  2. Japanese GP: Lotus must 'control' Romain Grosjean says Red Bull boss Red Bull boss Christian Horner has called on Lotus to get Romain Grosjean 'under control' after his latest opening lap crash. Grosjean hit the back of Mark Webber at Turn 2 on lap one of the Japanese Grand Prix - and was latter slammed as a "first-lap nutcase" by the Australian. Webber subsequently stormed down to the Lotus office unit in the Suzuka paddock to confront Grosjean and vent his anger at what he felt was a totally avoidable incident. Further adding to the criticism of Grosjean, who was banned for the Italian GP for having caused a first lap crash in Belgium, Horner declared it was up to Lotus to intervene and sort its driver out. "Hopefully he will have a good look in the mirror after this incident – or his team need to get him more under control," explained Horner. "He [Grosjean] is capable of doing it, as he is obviously a quick driver, but so many incidents is unacceptable at this level. "He needs to really talk to himself, or the team needs to talk to him, because not only is it dangerous for others, but he has cost himself and his team a colossal amount of points - together with the innocent victims that he has collected en route." Horner said that the biggest concern for Red Bull, and the reason why Webber was so angry, was that Grosjean had not appeared to have learned any lessons from his Monza ban. "I think Mark has every right to express his feelings, and I think that it was just a complete misjudgement [by Grosjean]," he said. "The most important thing when you make a mistake is to learn from it, and I think the most disappointing thing is that it is a repeat incident and proved extremely costly for Mark, as it did for [Lewis] Hamilton and [Fernando] Alonso at Spa, and numerous other victims earlier in the year. "I think the most worrying thing is he doesn't appear to be learning from his mistakes." http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/103225

  6. Lotus will delay the return of its double-DRS ''It is probably because we have to focus on some other developments which have higher priority." Although the Mercedes-style double-DRS that is activated by ducts being covered by a moveable wing is banned for 2013, the passive Lotus-style system remains legal - so any development work on its current system could have a benefit for next year. Boullier said the biggest issue the team faced was not the device's legality but whether or not it could get it to operate consistently enough so drivers did not risk losing downforce in high-speed corners. "It is not being legal or illegal - it is about making it work," he said. "We have not retained it here because we do not believe there is enough of a gain in the race." http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/103173
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiQx69Nhtjk on that. Japanese GP: Grosjean wants to move on from Webber shunt "Ever since I came back in Singapore my priority has been to be very cautious at the start, and I was watching Sergio [Perez] on my left to make sure there was no contact with him," said Grosjean. "There was quite a big speed difference between me and Mark [Webber] as I came into the first corner which caught me by surprise and we collided. It was a stupid mistake. "Mark came to see me after the race and was obviously not happy, but I apologised and we have to move on. We'll sit down and look at things again before the next race to see what we can do to improve these situations." http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/103207

  9. Jean-Eric Vergne has been slapped with a three-place grid penalty for impeding Bruno Senna during qualifying at Suzuka. http://www.planetf1....ed-for-blocking Kimi Raikkonen was at his best during a post-qualifying interview at the Suzuka circuit where he made his thoughts on the subject at hand quite clear. The Lotus driver, who had made it through to Q3 in qualifying for the Japanese GP, came up short in the final minute when he lost control of his E20 at Spoon Curve and beached his car in the gravel. As the chequered flag was waved the yellows were still out for Raikkonen's car meaning his rivals were forced to back off in that sector. Asked what happened, Raikkonen said: "I spun." Clearly... Asked about the impact his yellows would have on the rest of the field, he said: "I don't care what happened to the others." You have to love him. http://www.planetf1....en-I-don-t-care... edit, i can't find the video of it yet.

  11. Lotus has ruled out using its double-DRS system during the remainder of the Japanese Grand Prix weekend after testing it in practice. Raikkonen ran the double-DRS in opening practice at Suzuka, but the team has ruled out using it on Saturday or Sunday as it was unable to make it switch effectively. "It worked a little bit but we are not going to run it," said Raikkonen. "Plus we had some other issues during the running so it didn't help again to get the best idea. But it is not going to suddenly make us win if it worked 100 per cent." Raikkonen admitted the device was also making the car harder to set up. "It seems to be," he added. "I think you have to ask the team, but it started well the first time we tried it, and with all the things that were going on it hasn't been as easy as we had hoped, but we are learning with it." http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/103099

  17. Nicolas Prost will join Lotus for Formula 1's young driver test at Yas Marina later this year. The son of four-time world champion Alain Prost, who is a reserve driver for the team, will make his first competitive appearance with Lotus during the three-day test at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix venue. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/103066 prost v senna??? senna would probably be out by then.
  18. Sergio Perez has revealed that initial talks with McLaren started a few weeks ago - even though he denied at the time that he had been approached. The Mexican will join Jenson Button at the Woking-based outfit next year following Lewis Hamilton's decision to jump ship and join Mercedes. And although it appeared that Perez's McLaren move happened quite quickly, the Sauber driver says that discussions with his new bosses had been ongoing for some time. "There have been talks before but I didn't want to give too much information away [at the time] about my opportunities and options," he said ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix. "The question didn't come up that often but if it did come up then there would be too many questions. "So I am thankful the [McLaren] team gave me this opportunity. I want to leave this team [sauber] on a high." Perez says that his future was discussed with Ferrari too, but in the end there was no real opportunity for him. "It was never clear with them if they wanted me or not," he explained. "It was difficult for them to make a decision and I think they are happy with Felipe [Massa]. He is a good driver and a proven driver. "I am not a guarantee like Felipe, which is why I was never an option for them. The opportunity never came..." Perez is under no illusions about the challenges he faces in stepping up to a title-winning team like McLaren, but has no doubts he is ready. When asked about his feelings of being Hamilton's replacement, he said: "Of course I rate Lewis as one of the fastest drivers on the grid so it will not be easy at all. "I know he has very big shoes to fill, and I will work as hard as possible to give the best results and win the championship with this great team." He added: "I think with McLaren there is no other option - you have to win every race, if you have a car to win. I have to work very hard, give everything to my team and I am ready to do it once I finish the season." http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/103041 interesting....
