  1. Ive seen vlt's surge their heads off due to incorect timing. Also bad or mismatched highflows cause surge. You will never get rid %100 of flutter on light loads even with a bov. Thats an issue you will have to live with, or OEM it and put an airbox on or a really weak factory recirc bov.
  2. I think you have EPA and Vicroads mixed up mate. EPA maysay your airbox mod is legal on their part, but your modification can STILL recieve a defect mate. You can still get a defect for a fully ADR compliant and engineered vehicle. This has happened with my old modified and engieered ute. Also that pod in a box. its still an induction mod. So with an FMIC it is still illegal.

    You got a good heart son. Ive had my little dog(s) run away from our past place many times, cheek thing would dig the dirt under the fence and run around the suburb like crazy, so i know how it feels to come home and your dog is missing, or suprisingly comes up behind you.

Its not rim diameter, its overall rolling diameter of the TYRE. so only 15mm increase in overal tyre diameter over the largest availble stock on the magna.. which would be ... 15" in a 55? profile.. so if by chance they make 20" tyres in 205 30's or smaller then i doubt it would be legal. u got zinged.

  13. I put in $20 worth into my 1/4 full tank of 98. No pinging, car runs fine, no unusual noises... Infact i went straight to a skidpan day, and car ran fine... S14 SR20T 1.2bar.

  19. Ben tuned my old RB20DET Cefiro with PFC. I had no probs with it, the knock reading rarely went over 30 on 30degree days!! Also i have heard good stories of the new tuner from Chasers. And there are plenty of bad stories of workshops. Most are chinese whispers, and 4,5,6th hand info. But Racepace all the way for RB, SR tuning.
  20. Wow. Cbf reading all the pages. My points are probably m00t, but on the NVH topic, this is a extract from an s14 Service manual: Recirc Valve EC-17 Nissan S14 Service Manual 1994. "The recirculation valve reduces the noise occuring in the compressor of the turbocharger during acceleration. This valve recirculates air compressed downstream of the intercooler to upstream of the copressor using the intake monifold vacuum that occurs when the throttle chamber is suddenly closed. The recirculation valve also must not be disassembled or adjusted. For diagnosis, refer to EC-206 Also another point which probably has been covered, is that with AFM/MAF bovless or atmo bov, has the same effect of running rich between gearchanges. Atmo bov has a harsher effect, but the MAF/AFM does run rich due to exiting reverb comming out. Most OEM bovs also dont like high boost. Nissan in particular design them with a SMALL recirc hole which presents a small boost leak the more boost you run. Also most oem bovs are designed to recirc, and do open at idle. The only bov known to not leak is the toyota Mr2/SSQ type bov, which has a reverse piston design! ie: The more boost you make, the harder the bov piston is shut. m00000t
  21. yah, on my old RB20, 25/30 is fine with stock heatshield. Grind off the HKS and details, and you wouldnt be able to tell the diff. PFC ecu cover was also a straight swap with the standard nissan ECU cover!! oooh so shifty... heh

  25. Any mag wheel place can get them. I picked up a set from TTF sunshine, and Tyrepower in Essendon. Best to go to TTF Mitcham, ask for Paul. I busted his ass to order in a wheel nut for the bolt on spacer. Mine are 25mm and 5x114pcd. Solid billet. The only problem, is that the wheel nuts that come with the bolt on spacers, are not adaptable by a bees dick with the nissan studs. You will sliiiiightly thread them if you use your nissan nuts on the spacer bolts. You will need either Toyota or Holden thread type nuts , which they can supply. Theyre around $75 each depending on who you go through.
