vic R34 Gt/gtt Parts
fastjetjockey replied to Charles89's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'm chasing a battery tray, thought I'd try this relic of a thread if you still have it laying around? -
GReddy Performance Damper Remote Control Kit For sale is a GReddy Performance Damper Remote Control Kit. It came with my GReddy type S coilovers that were installed on my S13 ~10 years ago. However, this kit has never been installed. I've simply carted it with me for nearly 10 years like some sort of automotive hoarder. As a result, the box is a little bent and some internal cardboard partitioning is missing. But the unit is in perfect condition. I've run it out and plugged all the components together to get my head around the wiring with the intent of installing, but that is as far as my lazy ass ever got. I kept it around with the intent of sticking it on my next car - an R34 with BC BR coilovers - because as I understand it, these also fit BC BR dampers. Still never installed them! Be aware, while these fit all GReddy Type S Performance Dampers (and some other makes), some require spacers to fit under the bonnet. No spacers are included here. $400. Willing to post nationally at buyers expense. Pickup available from Melbourne's S.E. 3169.

R34 Gt-T Camry Killer.
fastjetjockey replied to owen1r's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
They are an old chassis, that's for sure. Looking at my R34 now and seeing some problems that are arising, then considering a Skyline 2 generations it's senior - no way in hell I'd ever be happy buying something that old. Oh well. Best of luck to you and your new Evo. Still think the sale of your 34 was a mistake. -

What condition are your plastic boot trim panels in? I assume that's what you're selling listed as 'boot'. -
Enjoying the build so far man. I am particularly entertained by your consistent upswings in build direction; Double-sub enclosure -> Ext. gated ATR45. Choo choo!

So I Spun Out Again - Wtf Is Going On?
fastjetjockey replied to tripsteady's topic in General Automotive Discussion
That's a really good point. I remember I borrowed a honda CRV with flogged out suspension all round. If I went around a roundabout any faster than Nanna would, it would understeer into the next lane. So rubbish. I'd be inclined to re-check your suspension geometry, swap out your tyres, and go learn more about driving in the wet. Don't turn under brakes! -
I come to Melbourne from Brissy probably once a year for a number of months for work. This time I've been down for 3 months, and I've not been pulled over or hassled once. I'm staying in Maidstone this time around, and I drive to Elwood/Brighton pretty much every day for work - 250km's a week. Only thing I got was a speeding fine for overtaking a slowpoke through an intersection - 64 in a 60, $174 and 1pt. First fine in 3 years. Been through many Boose Buses no hassles. I'm not a hoon and I rarely speed, but I do like to poke it around sometimes. I drive a fairly stock 34. Just lowered on coils, 18's, Pod, JASMA approved exhaust (so not too loud). I'm planning on moving down here end 2013, will probably try and keep the rego QLD though. IMO, you'll be fine mate.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was not put off by the SSD as it would be used to load a select few programs, the bulk of my data (music, video and RAW stills) would be stored on external drives. The laptop would be set up on a desk for 4-6 months at a time, so it's not like I'd be carting it in a satchel every day. Just throwing it in the car when I move. I was seriously considering a netbook; Very sleek and stylish whilst still being a PC. But integrated graphics aren't really up to the task I think. I've been trawling JB's every fortnight or so, looking for new models/stock. They've got a good range but nothing that compares to this eBay one I've found, for the price anyway. Shame it doesn't have an FHD screen. Think I'll buy it this weekend...

Ahoy, I'm travelling to Canada in 7 weeks, for 1 year, and am after a laptop to take with me. I've ruled out getting a Mac, and am pretty much searching for an all-rounder PC lappy that's good at everything with a budget of around $1500. It will just be a desktop replacement that I can take with me with ease when I move. I will be using it for photo/video processing and editing, gaming, surfing and all the rest of it... I found a Samsung on ebay with the following stats for $1499 from a reputable seller... i7-3610QM Processor 2.3Ghz (Turbo 3.3G) 15.6" Thin Bezel LED LCD HD (1366 x 768) 16:9, Anti-Reflective Display 16GB (DDR3) 256GB Solid State Drive Switchable 2GB nVIDIA GeForce GT650M (Optimus) + Intel® HD Graphics 4000 2x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0 DVD Drive 1yr international warranty Windees 7 HP 64 I've been looking around and that's pretty much the best-suited rig for what I'll be using it for. I've had a brief look on some build-your-own aussie website - Horace laptops or something? They're pretty comparable. But the thing that puts me off them is simply the styling of the chassis and lack of a big-brand reputation.... Same internals, I know. The only thing that I'm put off by is the res of the screen - I'd really dig a full HD one. Anyway, my question would be do you know of any other rigs out there that you think I would be interested in, or do you know of any other tech that's coming out in the near future that I should hold off for?

Depending on weather and how I'm feeling after work, I'll come along with the camera to take some snaps if anyone wants some.

Ahoy lads. I'm after a bit of advice to do with a fitness plan. Here's my story... I'm heading overseas to Canadia in just over 10 weeks. A month after touching down I will be working a mountain and boarding every day. So my primary goal at the moment is to curb the pain I'll experience when smashing pow every day. Secondary is just general fitness, for more energy during the day and to stay sharp with the ladies. Until I leave, I'm living in Melbourne for work, originally being from Brisbane. I work 12-14 hours a day in film, so time is a real issue. My work is usually quite physical, but this job is rather pedestrian and doesn't entail a great deal of the labour. I am on my feet all day, but that doesn't really count for much. My metobolism over the past year or two has suffered going from employment to unemployment between jobs. Eating has been all over the place. When working I get two large main meals a day - breaky, lunch and a sammich for arvo tea. I don't eat dinner when I get home. When unemployed I'd only feel like eating twice a day, because I just slothed around. I'm 24, 170cm's and have a rest weight of 64kg's. I've got an ectomorph/mesomorph body type. In my teens and early 20's I leaned more toward ecto and found it really hard to put on weight, even with supplements and weight training. But now, at work, only firing up the furnace for 2 meals a day, I find I've put the kilos on. I'm 72kg's at the moment, and my stomach is actually getting larger . I've definately put muscle on though. Anyway, to cut it short I guess I'm a lil bit freaked out by my changing body although I realise I've still got it much easier than some. I know what you're thinking, "Stop shovelling it in!" But I get so hungry! I stumbled across the Tabata method of training and it seemed really attractive for a number of reasons. Chiefly time and how it boosts your metabolism. I realise results only come with effort, and 4 minutes of effort a day isn't a great deal at all. I don't have access to a gym, or any equipment. My questions for you are... 1. What do you know of the Tabata method, and how beneficial would it be in my case. How effective would it be at rebooting my metabolism? I plan on eating 3-5 smaller meals a day if I stick with it. 2. When should I do it - morning or night? I HATE mornings, especially in the cold. But I only get one or two hours to myself at night before I have to hit the sack. Night suits me better, but I already have trouble sleeping sometimes. Work hours vary sometimes also, with regular starts of 7am, but sometimes as late as 10am. If I were to do mornings, I think I would benefit from a warm-up run around the block. 3. Would any supplements benefit me if I'm focusing on the following exercises?... 20 Seconds of Jump-Lunges, 10 Second break, 20 Seconds of Jump-Squats, 10 Second break, 20 Seconds of Burpees, 10 Second break, 20 Seconds of Push-Ups, 10 Second break, repeat cycle again, for a 4 minute workout maintaining proper technique throughout. I would plan on mixing it up too, with some sprinting, chinups somewhere, bicep curls with some weights maybe. 4. Are the any alternatives you know of, or any advice you can give based on the info I have provided? Anyway, cheers for having a read. Leave a post if you can. Dion.

R34 Gtt Coilover Help
fastjetjockey replied to ahhbee's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Turn it around, and maybe put the spacer collar away from the nut? I cannot remember how I put mine on, but it worked! -
Do your own servicing IMO, it's about building a relationship with your car Any 10W40 weighted oil will do you good. How often you intend to change it will determine if you should use semi or fully synthetic - Semi's good for no more than 5, Fully Synthetic use no longer than 10000km's. For a stock/mildly modded R34, you could head to Repco or the like to get all the bits needed for servicing... - A 10W40 weighted oil (Your car will tak 5L with an oil filter change. It's good practice to replace the sump plug washer after a service too, or you could try an oil drain valve.) -6x NGK BCPR5ES-11 Spark Plugs (Copper cores. I use them and they go strong to every service - gap your plugs before installation). -A Z145A Oil Filter if at Repco, or you could go genuine (they are much smaller and easier to remove ) - An in-line fuel filter (slips the minds of a lot of people doing their own servicing) - A tasty glycol-based coolant - Brake fluid - Check if it's needed first (DOT 4 or 5.1, not 5.) - Power Steering fluid - Check if it's needed That's pretty much all the stuff I touch every 5 and 10k. If you don't wanna run around getting stuff, use ebay for fluids, and websites like Kudos Motorsports (QLD Based) for parts. Check out this link for Skyline manuals - There's a cool checklist for servicing in there somewhere too... Service Manual Downloads...

New belts will generally stretch after a a while. It even says to readjust them after installing. Just watched the video. Did you have your A/C on while you were taking the vid? Cause my compressor sounds like that when engaged, just not as loud.

Wing Commander Saga: The Darkest Dawn

Sweet! I'll download it because I'm against Lions walking around on two legs... -
So I started playing last night on Master Dar'Nala (PvP) as a SIth Warrior Juggernaut. Really enjoying the fundemental elements the game is built on. I know it can be considered a re-polished copy of an existing MMO, utilising a lot of the systems they had to offer. But this one just works so well! Coming from 5 years of WoW, that's saying a lot. I'm really enjoying the quest diversity, and voice acting. I like my companion, and the way crafting works. And man... LIGHTSABERS!

Finished the game at 6pm this eve, and am still ropeable. I'll post what I posted on the Bioware Forums it does contain what most would consider as spoilers... SPOILERS FOLLOW... Not sure if it's gonna be a cash-grab. Not sure if it's poor writing. Not sure if trolling or serious. I'm just not sure about anything other than I know I'm pissed off about the ending after spending 45 depressing hours on it. I wish I hadn't of bought TOR before finishing ME3... I might still be 70 bucks up...

I'll be repping the QLD Sticker in Melbourne at that time. Shame.

So dunno if you guys haven't heard about this and aren't excited, or have heard about it an assumed everyone had also... But there is a new PC coming out from the UK. It's the size of a credit card and was primarily devoloped to be supplied to schools to encourage kids to learn to program. You plug in your mouse, KB, SD card with apps/OS, power (micro-USB), a monitor (HDMI) and you're off. There are some pretty cool possibilities with the Raspberry Pi; From real Pip Boys, to a new range of Carputers, to home media centres (can play full 1080p), to kids actually learning how to program. The Raspberry Pi speaks Python and is going for real low cheap. How Cheap? $25-$35 (there are 2 models thus far - 128 and 256mb). Unfortunately they are sold out at the moment, and their website crashed 2 days ago on launch from the demand. But the world will eventually get a slice of the Pi. May even give me a chance to learn how to use Python... Check it out! Their Website Raspberry Pi Wiki DISCUSS!

I'm on my 2nd playthrough of the Shep I'll be using for ME3. Jack died in my first one, even though I hated her, I couldn't let it slide lol. I've got one week to finish this playthrough and play the demo. BUT, I cannot find the demo anywhere! I can find links and advertising for it all over the internets, but I cannot find a single place to download it from. On the Cynical Brit's rant. I agree 100%. EA has been a gluttonous company since ever. I hate what they've done to games and I super hate what they did to BF3. I hate Origin. I hate EA. But it's kinda like that ONLY seat on the bus is next to some smelly fat man, if you wanna get to where you wanna go. You've got to sit down. [i suppose you could also stand, but that's beside the point I'm trying to make.] I don't know if I'll go so far as boycotting the game. But I damned well feel like it. After the amout Aussies pay for games already, it kinda makes my blood boil. I haven't preordered anything yet, and don't think I will. I don't know what I'm going to do. Digital Preorders are just stupid. They try to coax you into it by giving you more digital stuff. Stuff that's infinte, and it's not like you need to secure your copy of zeroes and ones. I want material things that you can hold in your hand or put on your geek-shelf. That has nothing. Things that give me an edge in a single player campaign seem moot to me. But story I'm a sucker for. And to

Yeh man. Getting antsy for my Canada working holiday at the end of the year, and maybe a lil bit of Buller in August/Sept. This game is gonna be the pacifier, lol. Looks outrageous. Looks SSX. Canneh wait!
