  1. thanks Red... Will be going the handling pack hopefully next week to rectify the settings, and with luck ill notice the handling distance... Next will be the clutch, flywheel and brakes...
  2. Thanks Jay - installed them last night, and they look trick !! Nice and easy to install, too !! Cheers,
  3. This would depend on what ECU management they have chosen... In the case of an ECU chip, this would be correct.. However, i believe a Power FC or similiar can have two maps for different boost settings..
  4. Thanks Guys - ill be sure to check out the hybrid option i think... Anyone know of a good install place once i have the piping ??
  5. Hi Guys.. Looking to get a GTR FMIC installed on the car, however it doesnt come with any piping... Does anyone know of someone that can do this at a reasonable price ?? The best ive got so far is aluminium piping & install for $1050 !! :thumbdwn: Maybe an opportunity for anyone who is confident/practised in doing this to pickup some extra cash ??
  6. B-Man ... You have PM...
  7. i got a khs super dragger, and is quiter than most out there... Had the EPA do a test, and it registered 87... (cat back only) Thing to note though is that if you change the cats and dump pipe, it will be louder than just a cat back...
  8. Damn... Had a chat to Whiteline - very helpfull.. Looks like ill do it right first time, and spend the $$$ on the handling kit... Means i may have to sacrifice other mods i had planned.. But - long term im sure ill be happier... Anyone recommend an installer up the Central Coast for these kits ???
  9. I would be happy with that - if the torque curve increased over the whole band (or in particular lower/middle), reduced lag and not forgetting the stock look & integration with current internals...
  10. Thats the end RWKW figure... I would be more interested to see the torque delivery and curve....
  11. Hey SydneyKid... Just the response i was after...just to make sure i wasnt going boggy... As usual, you are correct on the headings and their meanings... When i look at the front of the car, i could've sworn that the car looks uneven. I got a tape measure and measured from the bottom of the tyre to the top of the wheel guard (dodgy, i know). Its about 2mm difference consistently each side, and the tyres have same psi in each... I have some cash put aside for mods, but now im wondering whether i should invest it in a whiteline handling kit to fix this....and if so, which one ?? OR - is there a cheaper option to fix this properly and get the same result - ie is the whiteline option overkill for my problem ?? Ive already planned the spending of my mods, and to go purchase this would wipe it all out !!
  12. Yep Sewid, i do.. My bad... coffee hasnt kicked in yet this morning... :coffee:
  13. Hey Ben... Exactly - im sure a lot of people would jump at the chance to work on what you mentioned.... And this would easily flow into a meet n greet session for all concerned...
  14. With a bit of talk on the adjustable cam gears lately, i was wondering what the performance gains are to be had between the internal and external adjustable cam gears ?? HKS and Tomei make them - any other brands ?? Or - is it better to buy the aftermarket cams like Tomei Poncams, etc....Bang For Your Buck... There seems to be conflicting reports on the above approaches...
  15. Hey Guys... Just a suggestion, being new to the skyline scene and all... Seems that for most of the members in NSW (im generalising here) the drag scene and street stuff appeals to the most people (yea yea i know - lowest common denominator, etc !! ) So - maybe it could be worth it to arrange a drag day for SAU NSW people at EC ?? Dedicated drags, little bbq, launch techniques for autos/manuals, psi setup for tyres, etc etc... Attraction would be you would get a lot of people who always wanted to take their car on the 1/4 mile, but were always too embarassed or noob to do it on the regular EC nights...good hook to get the members and regular browsers together... Im sure you would get some good numbers .... Anyway, my 2c... :bond:
  16. noone ?? Im looking at getting a whiteline kit, and im not sure whether the car has alreadyt had some handling stuff installed... Cheers,
  17. i agree - bit of a "mines bigger than yours" argument...If there is only half a second (or a second, for that matter) difference in the quarter mile between cars - WHICHEVER car it goes to - on the street it will ball down to who gets the better launch, who gets the traction and who can drive... a 12 sec car can be beaten off the lights by a goddam toyota corolla if he cant get his power to the ground...on the street the first 50-100m is critical, its very rare for a street battle to last 1/4 mile (let alone 98mph or more !!). street = 0-100km/hr = 60' time on dragstrip drag = street + top speed :grouphug:
  18. Hey Guys.. Had my skyline for a few weeks now, and im going through the receipts i have for it... Came across this one from a tyre place... Does the skyline come with adjustable suspension, or for the above numbers would i have to have some aftermarket jobbies on the car ?? I took a look underneath, and cant see anything special.. Thanks in advance...
  19. OI !! You forgot me... mumble mumble...
  20. http://www.takakaira.co.jp/asp/template.as...STtPqQqlnMokrNm Any worthwhile gains to be had ?? Thoughts ??
  21. Just saw a Black R33 GTR on corner of Khartoum and Talavera Rd Nth Ryde...standard NSW Yelloow licence plate....sounded nice...
  22. Josh, Noone is disputing that the GTI-R is a great BFYB car...just a bit sceptical on the figures provided in the context of the comment... For the record, i previously owned a quicker LS1 than my current Skyline, so im not a biased Skyline owner bottom line is regarding performance if you wanna spend the bucks you will get the timeslip.. "if you build it, it will come"
  23. pm sent...
  24. I agree with INASNT... Im sure this car did the 11.7 - probably with breathing mods (remove everything up to the throttle body), exhaust mod (remove it !!) and a slight boost increase (say 10 psi +), and maybe some slicks.. :bs!: Although, im sure it wouldnt be constant, and it wouldnt be doing it again soon...
