Better late than never..locked as per Paradizzle's request..

...um...if its specifically mentioned on the form - and if its something the insurance company can use to void my insurance.. Hell yeah. unlikely that they wont ask you - especially if its one of those "paperless" applications. But - its your cash - its your choice..i personally cant afford a 20k defecit if i lose my car without any insurance.
-
nope - you are suppost to disclose any and all information that may potentially affect the decision (read: premium) of the insurance company.. they usually mention this in the phone disclaimer if you are applying over the phone, or somewhere on the doco... The insurance companies have been in the legal game much longer than all of us...dont try and take them on unless you have the law on your side..
-
Insurance companies love attitudes like that !! They will happily take your cash based on whatever you want to say and put on a form.. However, its once you try to claim on the policy (and the respective $$$ amount !!) that they will go over the details with a fine tooth comb.....and they will be most grateful for any excuse to not pay you. If you have a read of the policy guidelines when you sign up - they are quite strict in regards to mods and roadworthiness.. In all honesty, Just Cars really walk the line when mentioning they insure modded cars (...fine print is as long as they are legal - and again according to the letter of the law none are, so... ??) Bottom line - mention all mods, spend the cash and not only drive guilt-free but also with peace of mind knowing that you are covered financially..

With the current weather in NSW, i thought it timely to see if anyone has some good tips for the above.. My only thoughts on this are.. 1) warm air on the front windscreen - only good when its cold weather though !! 2) a/c on if the weather is too hot for the above To stop fogging.. Is there any cleaning tips out there to prevent this (and the associated smudging ??)

hi-flow cat cat-back exhaust whiteline kit - sports, handling, etc... pineapples ex-cam gear GTR intercooler with piping ($$$ permitting, could be close) That should see most of your cash gone - dramatically increase the handling of the car with some good power gains...and it will be ready for stage 2 mods when you have more cash...

Hey Guys.. ive had the lightened flywheel (OS Giken) and ceramic clutch (brass button - Just Jap) installed for about 1000k's now.. Lately, when... 1) Taking off in 1st gear - from standing start 2) taking off in 2nd gear -from very slow rolling start 3) When the car is cold - initially warming up I can hear a loud rattling - it is very noticable (both inside and outside of the car), and sounds to me like the flywheel rattling against the clutch.. However, when moving (>10kms/hr), the car is going fine and i cant notice any performance loss, noises or drivability issues....(cant notice, but not to say it isnt doing it !!) Is this normal, or should i be getting this looked at ??

Geez Simon - take it easy on everyone taking some timeout to give you some (well founded) advice... My answer to your comment above regarding "bloody pipes everywhere" is simple - whichever one is safer and better performing for my engine: looks is secondary. However, it seems you have made your decision - the kit you are looking at is well made and UAS have a great rep, im sure you wil be happy with the choice.

Hi Guys.. Relocating the throttle body has been pretty controversial in regards to engine life, etc etc.. Do a search, you will find a few thread on this. The train of thought goes something like you relocate the throttle body, you can possibly lean out some cylinders - there was a reason why Nissan put the TB where is is. Although, i suppose if you have a power FC and are happy to tune specifically, the TB relocation could have some good gains.. However, is it worth it to save a few bucks in piping, even though it hasnt been proven that performance is affected ??
-
possibly interested, based on the details and performance of the battery as compared to the oddessy...
-
Yep - ive got the same issue as Tony has stated.. If my car lies idle for >2 days, the battery goes dead. For me, its my car alarm (this one starts with a B !) and the bloody backup battery - so if i plan on leaving the car in the garage for >2 days i now disconnect the battery. Pain in the ass, but better than the alternative. By the way - your calcium on the leads could mean that one (or both) of them are too short (ie they are putting strain on the terminals). Spend $12 and buy yourself another longer lead, could fix the problem. Also - if your calcium buildup gets too much on the lead, it wont get a clear connection !! Which could also be a reason why the car wont start.

timesllip - does this seem right ??

Good comparison Ben.....thanks for that. It seems with the similar mods i was getting about the same mph, but worse 60 footer - ill blame myself for that one i think !! the car setup is... Pineapples - set for drag 265/35/18 rear - 235/45/18 front tyres whiteline strut brace/sway bar/ castor and camber kits king springs ceramic clutch lightened flywheel So i probably should be giving it a bit more curry off the line and see if i cant get that 60 footer lower.... Looks like ill have to just get back out there and see what i can do.. Practise Practise !!! :burnout: -
Hey Gordon.. Yep i think thats the stuff - and i think the price is similar to a re-spray of the front bar. Only difference being that if any really big rocks dont hit you, there would be no dents either.. Decisions Decisions...
