damn - beaten on the reply by AB !! I was going to say the same thing...BUT it seems a low 13 should be a given with the current setup... Maybe if i get that ellusive 2 sec flat 60' i maybe able to sneak into the 12's... :Paranoid: -

Hey Guys.. The car being a daily driver on the F3 sees a %^$load of stone chips on the 'ol front bar.. Being a maroon front bar doesnt help the cause.. In the most recent NRMA edition "open road", they had this mob advertised.. http://www.stonegard.com.au/main5.html http://www.stoneshield.com.au/index5.html For those who cant get to the link (or cant be bothered !!) it seems like some clear cover (Urethane) that protects the front bar, etc from stone chips, bug crap and all that jazz... Does anyone know how noticable this is on the car (ie if it looks lame, or ok ??) and if it actually works ??

unfortunately i just saw a beautiful white R33 GTR being towed off Harbour Bridge... (i went past in a taxi) Licence plate SEBAZ A nasty front-bender of an accident - the hood was crinkled, but the front bar damage couldve been worse.....

well - keep in mind the RWKW figure is a peak reading... Its all about the torque through the range - ie tuning. -

Hey Cameron - i actually thought my 60' was a bit lame. I would like to get it to a 2.0 flat.. Hey Adrian - Yep thats what im hoping for next time i hit the drags...My tyres are (unfortunately for drags) 18's....but i have 265's on the rear, so i may have a sporting chance... Thanks SiksII - its great fun !! -
My accident and the offer they made me. *Long*

give them the 4 wheels back to re-coupe costs/do whatever they want, and get them to fully replace your wheels to pre-accident condition... -

Hey Adrian.. thanks for the advice. When i slip the clutch, the ceramic combined with the lightened flywheel doesnt make the car too happy...thats why i was dropping it (as best that i could) at about 3k... Im hoping the extra power the car is putting out will be controlled by the clutch if i slip it out while revving harder.. -

Abo bob- im prety happy with the mph, just not everything else !! Maybe i should be launching at higher rpm - say 4k... -
possibly, but like i said it only take 5 mins to check, and its a common thing to occur.. If it is right, then problem solved !! If not, the wiring is another possibility..

oh forgot to add - the power figure in my sig was not what i ran with....it ws more about ~165RWKW... -
i wouldve thought with my mph that i couldve done a bit better...may need some more practise.. i was launching at about 3k... R/T - .486 60' - 2.189 330' - 6.027 660' - 9.169 mph - 79.13 1000' - 11.816 ET - 14.067 MPH - 101.05 Km/H - 162.63 At the time, mods were.. Whiteline suspension pineapples full exhaust - hi flow cat, dump pipe and cat-back GTR intercooler lightened flywheel & ceramic clutch stock boost

...its probably unlikely (since you said you can hear a clicking sound), but possibly check to ensure the fuse is ok ??

yea i know - the law is pretty gray... their reasoning is that if the gauge is mounted higher than the dash/wheel, its something to either block your view of the road, or if you crash its something else for your head to hit.. although - if it is a stock component of your car, its ok (ie the gauge cluster top of the dash on an R34) - and obviously it doesnt seem to apply to taxis or cop cars.. it also depends on which cop you get as well - like all things...
-
From my brush with the law, a boost gauge isnt illegal - but where you mount it is.. Illegal spots are on top of the dash, and the good 'ol A-pillar... Legally, you can mount it on the steering column - as long as it doesnt interfere with your view of the dash.. Mine is mounted on the steering column right in front of the original boost gauge - cops dont mind..

Brand Name Mufflers really worth it?

...just to show the other side of the coin, ill give a plus to the jap brand... Ever since ive had the car, the cat-back has been a HKS super-dragger. The system has a nice note on WOT, but isnt too noisy on idle and everyday driving. Ive even got an EPA test showing that the noise level is within spec !! The main thing for me is that it never droned - both before or after i upped the boost and tuned the ECU. IMO - the Jap guys have put significant research into their systems, so if you can get one, i would go for it. You cna save potential $$$ on retro-fitting other systems. However, a lot of people here in Austalia (Lambros, sure-flo, etc) also do great custom work which im sure would be equal to (or better !!) than the Jap stuff.....the key word though is custom = $$$ How deep are your pockets ?? -
Spotted yesterday: Silver R34 GTT on Pacific Hey near Lindfield, licence plate "Latin1".. Nice, clean, original R34 - pity he was in a rush....

WHEN do you need an oil catch can ?
Gizmo73 replied to Gizmo73's topic in General Automotive Discussion
ive just upgraded the car to start running 12psi (stock turbo, excellent condition), but with the type and amount of driving i do, its unlikely to see 12psi on a regular basis.. stock turbo seems good - i suppose its one of those things that if i can get my hands on one ill install it, but i wont hunt for it... -
I was looking forward to the drive to work this morning, as it is heaps cooler.. However, it also rained, so i spent most of the run off boost cruising... maybe next time..
-
Hey Guys.. just wondering if there was an accepted level of boost run on the car where an oil catch can is highly recommended ??
-
...or install a boost gauge with vacuum readings, and dont go over 0 !!
-
Hey 600hp - i do remember..How did you go with the setup ?? Hey BHDave - yep - stock turbo and internals (for now) Hey JetDat - definetely not a stock intercooler, as the car is a daily driver.....GTR intercooler.
