  1. Here's the video of the 13.97 run with the crap launch lol:
  2. Went to the drags today, ran a best time of 13.97 with a shit house launch lol. I'll post a video up later, the launch is quiet embarrassing though lol! Still getting used to the new clutch, it's great to shift with, a little more tricky to launch though
  3. Bit of a photo dump, been doing a little bit on the car over the past few days. Pics will explain all: A big thanks to a good friend of mine Dean for the hand made carbon fiber sheet. (the perks of being in the Airplane industry I guess ) The throttle linkage tube is 90% complete, I had to use an adjustable reamer and reamed out each throttle linkage pivot as the tube I had was 12.1mm, whereas the OEM BMW one was 11.95mm
  4. This is from a Circuit Club track day at Wakefield in mid December 2012 SAU Nickname: Tim Car Make and Model: N15 Nissan Pulsar Circuit Name: Wakefield Park Lap time: 1:16.075 Modifications Engine: SR20VE, N1 Cams Power: 130kw Suspension: BC BR Coilovers Tyres: Advan A048 (225/50R15) Brakes: R33 GTST calipers, RDA R33 GTST rotors (machined down to 288mm) EBC Redstuff pads Hoping to make a huge improvement on that in the not too distant future.
  5. Gearbox and clutch are back in. Feels great to have the LSD back again. The final drive is perfect for a VE on the street. You could definitely go a shorter ratio if you didn't do any highway driving. The clutch is anything but brutal. It probably has a smoother, more predictable engagement point with a nicer pedal feel. Also shifting is more effortless, overall I'm very happy.
  6. Update time: Received my clutch today, so ripped the gearbox out and took the flywheel to a local clutch place to be machined. It'll be done first thing tomorrow morning Pictures of the new PAR Solid Center Clutch:
  7. On another note Gerard from PAR just called to tell me that my solid center clutch is now ready to go. So the short ratio (4.83:1), LSD gearbox will be back in next week Pretty keen to get the box back in.
  8. Thought I'd finish my bush/collar job. So here's the finished project: I fitted them up this afternoon, there was a tiny bit more vibration, but on a positive note it has made the gear shifts everywhere in the rev range really smooth. I designed the bushes so that they would have plenty of crush on the nylon washer.
  9. Lol I've got too many projects going on at the one time. I've only half finished all of them. I'm glad I saw your for sale ad though, was a hood buy
  10. Thanks man Here's another small update: I've 99% completed my fixed back seat mount. I used a bride rail for an N15 and used 2 pieces of 5mm flat bar to make an 'adapter plate' to bolt the side mounts for my Pro 2000 onto, anyway here's a couple of photos. All that has to be done is 4 holes need to be drilled for the side mount rails to be mounted to the adapter plates. Here's a photo of the Bride rail as it is: Then with the adapter plates: I had to counter sink the bolt heads to get the heads flat (I'm using countersunk socket head cap screws)
  11. Umm slight "modifications" are required. I'll post photos up of me doing it step by step to show you what's required. Once Gerard sources this pressure plate. Apparently they are becoming a bit harder to find these days. Other wise I'll have to go to a Mitsubishi pressure plate and i'll have to make some stepped dowels for the flywheel.
  12. Hey man, Yeah had one on here for a while I actually got a good deal on it privately. If I was to buy another one I'd buy it through RHDJapan, much cheaper than any other shop I have found.
  13. Well not too much going on atm. I'm waiting on a solid center clutch before I put my LSD gearbox back in. I'm in the process of getting my Sparco mounted up a bit better on a Bride rail for an N15. I'm keen to buy a few more handling bits and pieces in the future, so stay tuned.
  14. Awesome write up Benji Glad you are happy with the suspension. We'll have to bolt on the rest of the bit and pieces you have for it soon.
  15. f**k I didn't realise how much work you've done to this. It's exactly what I would have done if I owned a R33. Handling then Brakes then POWAHHH
  16. So I started machining up a prototype solid cross member bush, it's only made out of steel at this stage, though they will be similar to the ones available in the US that consist of aluminium and delrin or another nylon material, they will be like these B15 ones: Since I didn't really know how thick to make them (since the OEM rubber was all squashed/torn) I had an educated guess. The sizing was pretty damn close. the washer needs to be 0.5mm thinner and the head of the 'bush' needs to be 2mm thicker so that the crossmember bolt doesn't bottom out on the chassis/radiator support, squashing the washer and bush to the crossmember and chassis.
  17. Another update. I bought another muffler last week to try and limit the rasp a little, also my oil cooler came
  18. A MAJOR UPDATE Gearbox is back together finally. I'm considering buying a new clutch before I change the box, but we'll see.
  19. Exhaust is sorted, got heaps more room now, no longer banging. I received this, this morning:
  20. Yeah man, was the same as the run I did recently, the intake cam wasn't switching due to a dicky plug due to Scott jamming a 3mm multimeter probe up a 1.5mm hole. I've fixed it for now, Dean is sending me another plug next week. So the exhaust is on, it took quiet a few hours to get sorted as I've never done an exhaust before. A lot of measure twice, cut once. There is still a slight issue with the catback I bought off a forum member hits the rear beam linkage. I suspected it would as my car is quiet a bit lower than his. That's not an issue atm, as the car will have to be raised a bit 10 - 15mm minimum, I want at least 80 - 90mm clearance on the 4-1's, so ride height will suffer a bit. Function > Form If this doesn't fix the problem, i'll pull the rear section of the exhaust off and fix it so there is plenty of clearance. The car is ridiculously noisy, it more or less has an excuse of a resonator and a good size Magnaflow rear muffler (offset to center) I'll be buying a different resonator to put in the system tomorrow. The top end of this car now is unreal though. Has an extremely strong pull, even more so than before. The exhaust note and rasp was described to me as sounding (exactly like a N/A 13B bridgeported rotary I built years ago) by the guy who helped me out with the exhaust. So it's loud as f**k and raspy as f**k too haha. Here's a few photo's anyways, sorry some of the photo's aren't great quality, it was quiet late when I took photo's of everything.
  21. Gave the engine bay a bit of a tidy up today, oh and made a new intake pipe to tie me over until I get the quads setup:
  22. Another small update: This is all for my oil cooler setup, still waiting on the oil cooler.
  23. Well bit of a delayed update, finally got all my exhaust bends and my cat: They f**ked the order up and gave me 4 extra 90* bends and a 45* bend too, for nothing.
  24. We all started off not knowing anything The more things you do yourself, the more you will learn. So you are well on your way. Good work mate. Keen to see where this goes.
