D.i.y Compliance
RiverSide replied to DAN00H's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Predator..............In Qld, if the tyres are still roadworthy then there is no need to replace them for compliance on 15yo vehicles. Provided your CAT is fitted to the vehicle, again no need to replace it. Seatbelts can be purchased at places like Supercheap, the packaging will tell you if they fit your vehicle. VIN plate can be ordered from any engravers. High mount stop light is required for vehicles manufactured after June 1989. Flat glass on Drivers side mirror is required. side intrusion bars are obviously required. (beware of workshops using incorrect sized bars) Fuel neck restrictor needs to be fitted, Can be purchased at parts store. As far as workshops doing only intrusion bars.........some may well decide it is not worth the effort. (It has been said that some workshops won't do half the job because people trying to save a couple of hundred bucks are the "high maintenance" customers...ie: whingers) Not my words Most compliance workshops are busy at this time of year (especially THIS year) So it may be an idea to wait until the new year to have your vehicle complied, as higher volume, regular customers will tend to be a higher priority to these workshops. -
If it basically just the intercooler, any fabrication place will be able to do itfor you, often at a lesser cost than the "elite" performance workshops.

At this stage the URAS kits will not be brought in, (at least not by me ) I am however hoping to have fibreglass Vented bonnets for Laurels in the future.
-
I assume it is a 15yr vehicle?........You can do the work yourself and have it certified by an engineer.

That sounds about right......One of mine runs .75 bar with stock dump pipe and cat back, stock cooler, and a stuffed turbo to manifold gasket.

easiest way off upping the boost in a rb20det?
RiverSide replied to warpz0r's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Bleed valve can be purchased at autobarn etc for less than 100 dollars. Fitment is very simple..... Just locate the vacuum hose that comes from the front housing of your turbo and leads to the actuator........cut it and place the bleed valve in between. Make sure the valve is SHUT when you first install it, then screw it out bit by bit to ensure you don't overboost and detonate. -

R32 Skyline Sedan Compliance?
RiverSide replied to Trizae's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
The vehicle will not be signed off if the work has not been carried out. Provided you go to a reputable workshop you won't have any problems. Sometimes it is well worth spending the coupe of extra dollars for piece of mind. -
3lit3......could you possibly find a price for slotted discs for R32 gtst? (fronts only) Is it possible to have them drilled with 4 x 114.3 instead of 5 x 114.3? If not can they be blank so i can have them drilled? Thanks heaps, please PM me with details. ps. Don't suppose you can supply Z32 calipers too?

R32 Skyline Sedan Compliance?

Compliance shoudl cost you around the $1500 mark. Can't help you with specific workshops down there..........most engineeers should be able to carry the work out for you, the bonus being that THEY are the ones signing it off so you know it is done right the first time. -
Your a champ..........thanks for your help.

There MAY be a small tab on the rear of the housing with "LSD oil only" written on it, or something like that. Alternatively you can jack up the rear end of your car.....spin ONE wheel and if the other wheel spins in the SAME direction it is LSD, if it spins in the OPPOSITE direction it is open diff. To check the condition of it have a mate hold one wheel while you spin the other, if there is little or no resistance then it is basically stuffed........of there is reasonable resistance you have a decent lsd. Hope that helps

Thanks heaps for that..........are you able to shed any light on the KTS? Is it a workshop or what?
