Exhaust Exit Laws
RiverSide replied to Scribble's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I THINK the ruling states that the exit point of the exhaust must be at least 1 metre past the last opening window of the vehicle. That is why utes can have shorter pipes. Keep in mind that regardless of the length of your pipe you are still required to adhere to noise level regulations. -
You will need to remove the parcel shelf.........I prefer to remove the rear seat to do this as it reduces the likelyhood of damaging the parcel shelf, they are quite brittle. Removing the rear seat is not as hard as people make it out to be......lift the bas while pushing it towards the rear of the car, then get base out of car, then remove the 2 bolts at the bottom of the backrest and slide the backrest upwards and that will release the seat. Have fun.

You won't need to remove those items to have the vehicle complied.........however all of the things you mentioned will require a Mod plate.......this will entail the vehicle being checked over by an authorised engineer to ensure that the abovementioned modifications have been carried out in a safe manner. Compliance for a 4 door vehicle (such as a laurel) will cost you about $1500 to have it done RIGHT..........There are plenty of people out there that will do it for less.....some of which have previously retained the japanese seatbelts etc. (i assume they fit new ones and swap them back after engineer has signed it off) I am a big believer in "DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME" as i will cost you alot more if you are dragged over "pits" at bundall and it is noticed your compliance is not up to scratch.......it will come back on YOU. (The engineer will simply say that it was right when he saw it)

C33 And A31 Build Dates + Pricing
RiverSide replied to _Ryan_'s topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The C33 Laurel started production in 1989......about Feb from memory. A stock auto, NON turbo is worth bugger all. I understand that it is enticing to buy a stocker and mod it......but in the long run it is generally cheaper to buy a modified vehicle to start with. -
Welcome to ceffy country............where only the Laurels are superior!!!! *Waits for flamage* lol
-
You will probably find that when you asked for cefiro suspension at that place.....they just quoted you on S13 stuff knowing perfectly well it is the same stuff. S13 susp is what is meant to be fitted.........it is just the spring rates and damper rates that vary. Being aftermarket susp. there are several options with rates.......therefore no one will sell cefiro specific items.
-
Yes it was.....there were actually two different auctech versions......the mild one (like daves skirts) is the more common.
-
Hey pitchd........how come you did not end up buying rori's ceffy? Are you sure you don't want a PHAT Laurel ?
-
Dave's sideskirts are a factory optioned item....... "Autech" They are quite common. I actually gave a pair away a while ago
-
I THINK S14/S14a should fit....but just like the R33/34 diffs you will need to change the rear cover. Best to double check on that though......as i have seen but not installed an S14 diff into cefiro/laurel

WANTED: N1 spec headlights/grille for A31
RiverSide replied to pitchd's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
So did you swap your car for a ceffy did you? I am sure you will love it. Sorry i can't help with the parts -
Remove the ABS for starters. You will find that it will depend on the type of diff your car came with from the factory makes a difference. If you are running the R200 already, then you can use diffs from SR20det S13/R32 skyline/R33/34 skyline (need to change the backing plate). Or of course cefiro or laurel diff.

Swaybar - whats standard thickness.
RiverSide replied to dangerous_daveo's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers

Swaybar - whats standard thickness.
RiverSide replied to dangerous_daveo's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Having driven your car Dave....I dare say yours is not standard......just like all the other goodies you have in that car ARC swaybars are popular in japan.......and considering the quality of parts fitted to your car i personally doubt it is simply a GTR item. Probably ARC if it is black . B O N U S -
nice cefiro w/ SR and cool front bar
RiverSide replied to cefiro's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
There is a ceffy up here with the same bar........I can't say that i am a fan of it......But the owner seems to like it, after all thats all that matters. -
Use some fly screen........attach it to your front bar, preferably an inch or so in front of your cooler.........then when you return simply pull it off.........for the estimated cost of about $1.80

WTB R32 tie rod ends
RiverSide replied to EVL34's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Visit your local parts store........I just bought some for my wifes' car...they cost about $20 each NEW. -
Go for the 2530........great turbo for the rb20

I can only comment on the remarks that the current owner has made......As far as stoney ASSUMING zoom imported.....i find that difficult to swallow....as it had MY stickers on it when he bought it Either way not an issue.........however Tony may want to change the specs for the car on his site.......even the wheels sizes are incorrect (i sent him an email to let him know but have got no response) For the record, I am in no way upset about this.......Though i have never dealt with zoom..i have scoured their site, and their products and prices are certainly fair. I would not hesitate trading with them.

beware people.....he is denial LOL He actually wants a laurel......MY laurel So someone buy his phat 32 so he can get the car of his dreams

It will definately be cheaper to fit 4-5 stud conversion spacers than to do the full conversion. As far as safety is concerned....I have run bolt on spacers on my cars for quite a while, and even under the stress of drifting they have never posed a problem. I will be having some conversion spacers made for my S13 very shortly, I will have them made of high grade aircraft aluminium and genuine nissan wheel studs to ensure that they have the appropriate strength. I could possibly be convinced to organise for several of these to be made (eg: group buy). Be warned, due to the quality of materials they will not be rediculously cheap. eg: prob APPROX $300-$350 per PAIR. PM me if you are interested, as i will be doing this in the next couple of weeks. Cheers Nico

I have a pair of the semi clear indicators in great condition. Located on the Gold Coast.

cef33.......the wheels you describe sound like factory Laurel wheels. They share the same sizing and offset as siilvia/cefiro wheels

Surely there is a power streering workshop in Darwin somewhere. Whilst a cefiro rack may not be something they see everyday they will be able to decifer the seals required and order them in. I suggest you speak to your local workshop, i am certain they will be able to help you.
