RiverSide replied to oz_cefiro's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Looks awesome.love the way you have mounted the cooler. (may want to wind down the coilovers about 5 threads at the back though.) Why did it take so long to get rego? It looks like a damn clean car. -
Anybody from Oz buy the RB26 4 door
RiverSide replied to turboalfa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
If you missed out..i would assume it was because the price went too high.right? So even if it was for sale through j spec.......wouldn't it cost more than you are willing to spend? I give you credit though......big risk trying to buy a car now on the ASSUMPTION dotars will give approval despite the warnings given. Good luck -

I have a stock front bar in white......It has a few scrapes but no cracks...... OR i can supply you a brand NEW BN front bar for $350 plus frieght. I do ask however that you organise the frieght so i can simply drop it at a Gold Coast depot. I have a R32 coupe you can have for $9800........It is however totally stock with auto transmission. Conversion should not cost more than $1500........so it would still be a damn cheap car.
-
There are these amazing places called auto parts stores........ believe it or not they sell this sort of stuff. What's next? People posting WTB threads to buy second hand oil filters to a buck or two?

Driving car for the first time
RiverSide replied to Pablo's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
The temp rego will incorporate CTP insurance. At least that way if you hurt someone there medical bills etc will be covered. Just drive carefully and there should be no problems. -
It is generally assumed that this is common practice on all of the australian wharfs. However provided the vehicle you have bought is in good condition, the likelyhood of them actually doing any real damage (other than maybe killing your tyres) is minimal. Keep in mind that they are not able to flog them for hours on end........only when they are shifting them. Buying any car tht was built in Japan (this includes the cars sold new at nissan/toyota etc) will have had the same treatment. Is simply unavoidable.

The base can be a bit of a bugger to get unstuck as they tend not be be removed all to often. I have on occasion needed to use a LARGE flathead screwdriver (with rag on sharp end) to pry the seat BACK and UPWARDS. Good luck

Was that one from the Gold coast? If so i think i know the one you are talking about.......BUT I did NOT import it. So unfortunately I can't help you with any info. I think the guy was pulling you leg. I hope you got it at a damn good price because he was REALLY desperate to sell it from what i recall.

RiverSide replied to RiverSide's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Cost of car = 9800 Cost of manual conversion = 1500 Look on your face when you realise you have a tidy MANUAL R32 for just over 11k......PRICELESS. This vehicle is still available and must be sold to make way for another vehicle. -
R32 coupe rear lights into sedan
RiverSide replied to GOT BOOST's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
You will need to change the lights (obviously).the bootlid, the rear bumper. It is quite a costly exercise considering 4 doors just look silly with coupe tail lights. -
From memory the foot rests are all the same size.......perhaps your feet are too large for the Laurel Jason lol. You could always simply remove the footrest, it does free up a bit of room down there.

I have the factory issue clear type indicators for the front (next to headlight).....Pair in great condition. Contact me on 0402 807 417 If interested.

Push the base of the seat towards the REAR of the car on each side (one at a time) as you push back also lift UP. That will pull the prongs out of their holes. To remove the backrest you will see a prong on each side (after the base has been removed) that has a bolt holding it in......simply remove the bolt and LIFT the backrest towards the roof....it will slide over 2 hooks and release.......to put them back in just reverse the process
