  1. Nice pic in Unique Cars James... you're a superstar now! Well, more of one...
  2. Same turbo for now Troy, but we'll see how it goes. My guess is that it's going to be the limiting factor in what power I produce, but I like the setup so I'm keen to push it as far as I can. Because it's a high comp setup, I'm hoping the turbo will cope well enough with the boost I plan on running, but we'll see, it's not particularly big...
  3. Happy birthday mate!!
  4. Engine update: It's all apart and looking good Will drop off the rocker arms tonight, and then they'll be off with the crank for cryo treating tomorrow
  5. I'd definately be saying it would be a combination of the two, as neither can work to it's fullest if the other isn't pulling it's weight. It may be costly mate, but tyres are really important, so don't skimp!
  6. I'd bet on the lowered springs with stock shocks mate. My old 180 was a pig of a car, and I ended up having a fair accident in it partly due to my actions, but a lot to do with the worn out shocks and lowered springs. I replaced my stuffed stockied with some KYB AGX's and problem was solved
  7. I guess that's the thing with having a 300+ awkw GT-R - everything else seems slow
  8. haha I don't ever think this thread was meant as a comparison, or a 'what's your favourite car'... just in appreciation of the Aston
  9. Gorgeous car... love the Aston's!!
  10. haha I already packin' some spares The car already has 242rwkw's, just don't use it on the track, so I don't think the jump in power will feel that great to me. My old RX7 was faster I reckon, and a hell of a lot scarier!! Want to run around 1.3-1.4bar, but we'll see how it goes. It's a high comp motor (9:1), so we'll see how it reacts. Coils are stock for now. It's already breaking down a bit at 1.4bar, but we'll give them a clean and see how they go, if not I'll order in some splitfires. I might also put a map in for 100 octane and see how it goes on that. My other cam gear and timing chain just arrived from japan, so we're set! Shane: You shouldn't have too big of an issue man. I run S14/32 brakes up front with single pot rears and I don't have an issue. just match your pads well. Once my rear pads went it was REALLY tail happy under brakes, so the rear pads are really important! RS500: PI can't be your first track day unless you do DT I think. Troy: It'll be good to see how far the old jigger will go man. I'd be interested to see with my engine too, but I'd rather pull it out and sell it while it's still in good health, and I need a few other leaks, cracked manifold and stuff fixed up at the same time, hence my decision to do it early.
  11. My project MU SCR rotors and Titan HC pads are doing a great job at the moment, can't fault either of them. Well worth the money in my books. MR30: With the DS3000's, when they say initial bite they are referring to the pad once they're warm.
  12. Ahhhh smooth, it's about time I dropped them off... whoops Technically I'm not a stroker... a wanker yes... but no stroker Mine is a big bore kit For power, whatever my turbo will give me! But a minimum 280rwkw's, but preferably around the 300 mark.
  13. I dunno Bris, I imagine Matty and me will be having some fun ringing the necks out of our built engines
  14. Hey, our class is already full of strokers!! Well, me anyways... BADOOM CHING Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week, try the fish. It should be ready, I can't see why it wouldn't be, but this is cars we're talking about! Something always seems to go wrong... How's your beast going? Hey, is Dean back yet?? I'll drop off those pics for him
  15. Let's say 2.2... Though I do like the underwear... but leave Betsy out of this! *rubs arse*
  16. Sorry, my bad. I have the Titan HC's. Mr30: With a heat range from 0 it would indicate that they work from well cold, whereas if you see the range of the hawk blacks it starts at 300, indicating it needs a bit of temp to get them working well. That's my understanding anyway Ferni uses DS3000's, or has in the past. He said they worked well, but chewed through rotors. Don't know how well they work from cold though.
  17. Looked better Khaki in my opinion. Zubi, I see you replied in this, want another ceffy huh?? haha
  18. I'm using the Project MU NC pads in R32 calipers and they work a treat. 0-800 degree rating, so work well from cold, and so far no fade after 5 laps. I'd highly recommend them.
  19. 6!! The clubby doesn't even have one in the front and it's twice as big as your car
  20. Argh, we've got no advantage anywhere do we??!
  21. Congrats mate!!
  22. Elaborate.
  23. What did Chris do around there last year, I thought it was a 1:35?? Though Winton suits our cars I think, light and nimble.
  24. Spot on. This type of 'blitz' is not going to stop people, it's going to force them onto the streets for their kicks. Think about it before you go and simply say 'your car is illegal so you deserve it'. This type of action does not benefit their cause, it just gets a few cars off the road for a month, then they come back and get their jolly's ripping up on the street because there's no point going to a LEGAL event. You're more likely to get defected doing the right thing. Why bother.
