  1. Dan, I was referring to Wheels mate, can't remember which one was in SPEED. HPI had an article on the 33 N1, I'll see if I can find out what issue it was in. SPEED also covered it when they did a story on Targa I think.
  2. I should be there
  3. Pretty sure it was the GTS coupe VS The R34 GTR N1 The Z-Tune with the NSW NISMO plates ans VIC ZTUNED plates is one and the same I believe. It first came into the country via Powerplay Imports, and I'm assuming that's their plates as they are the official distributor for Nismo.
  4. Yeah, I own a 180 man. They aren't riddled with problems at all, I just have a habit of breaking things! My car is pretty highly modified, so I am constantly finding the weakest link if you know what I mean. I doubt I will have the same issues next year as I will have sorted every issue that has cropped up, as well as any other I can conceive happening. If you're happy to keep it stockish then I'd hazard a guess you won't run into as many issues, but it is near on 15 years old so problems are bound to occur. I'd go for an S14 if I were you. Greg makes some good points too. To have a race only car means somewhere to store a trailer, a car that can tow etc. I bought a daily that could tow for this very reason, but I have no where to put a trailer, and I haven't got a towbar yet
  5. I wouldn't trust it to pull enough heat out if only using the stock size rotors. I have my fronts smoking after 5 laps of Sandown with 280mm rotors and R32 calipers in a 1200kg car.
  6. Hey Duncan, I'm in need of two mate. What sort of price are you able to get them for?? Thanks Dane
  7. Thanks for the info guys. I saw ticket pricing for the this years event and it was similar to what you mentioned gtscruiser. I expect accomodation to be a real killer, but I guess there's not too many option in that regard. I'll book veru early with a travel agent and hopefully get a decent price. I'm hanging to see the RS Spyder!
  8. Thanks guys. I'll see if I can track down that other thread and post the link Duncan. Has anyone been knocked back for a jap bolt in cage on here?
  9. Hey all, I heard rumours going around a while ago that in the near future non CAMS approved cages would no longer be eligible for club sprint days. Has anyone else heard any more on this? Cheers Dane
  10. By no means bottom of the barrel mate. I plan on showing a fair whack of GT-R's my rear end next year. They may be one of the cheaper cars to race out there, but are by no means the slowest. 'Cheap' being a relative term though, as it still made me dead poor for 6 months of the year, and continues to do so even when I'm not driving it!
  11. Here is one of the threads I was talking about: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=108727
  12. Yeah, I guess going to some euro GP's would be cheaper, but I much prefer sports car racing to F1, so it's not really an option. It's Le Mans or bust!
  13. Do a search dude, there's plenty of threads on this. There is a thread on thse G4's that was posted in the last 2 weeks, so that should help you out.
  14. For occassional track days I think they're fine. I run them on the track and haven't had any issues. Of course they are more street oriented, and my 180 would weigh less than your ceffy, but I guess it depends on how serious you are and what compromises you're willing to make.
  15. Have a look through the motorsport section, there's a few threads in there about the same topic. Also the motorsports section on Nissansilvia.com. Personally, I'd go for a 32 gts-t, or an S13 as when modded correctly they are quick, handle well, light, parts are a lot cheaper than GT-R's etc Ultimately you will go quicker in a GT-R, but not on a limited budget.
  16. Hey all, Looking at making the trip over to France for the Le Mans 24 Hour race next June. Just wondering if anyone has made the trip before?? If so, just wanted to know what you thought of it, how you arranged your tickets/accomodation etc. Thanks Dane
  17. Here ya go mate, just match them up with these
  18. I second that!!
  19. There ya go Nick: http://www.maserati.org.au/download/pdf-fi...try/San0610.pdf
  20. I'd love to, but my car is off the road It won't be seeing the light of day for the next few months Troy: You rate Winton that low??! You've gotta get your car sorted then, 'coz I don't think I've ever had more fun than I did on that track!
  21. I like Sandown because it's a good track to guage times at, it's fun to drive and it's close! Great to spectate at too. I've prefer Winton to drive on, but it's so far away... and I've never done PI
  22. Everyone always wants to do Sandown! I love that track...
  23. Hey man, if you get this working let me know! I would love to pop some Porsche big reds on mine, but only want to run 17's...
  24. I see no issues in buying a car that has done club sprints before, as generally any wear and tear is made up for by how well the owner usually looks after the car. They are generally over serviced, and fixed regardless of cost. People generally don't use cheap crap when going to the track. That's my opinion anyway, some may disagree, but I do sprint days and I know how well I, and the other people I know who do them, look after our cars.
  25. They seem like an awesome option for the money, it's just a pity they need minimum 18's to fit...
