  1. Haha you are such a wheel s**t! These are AWESOME rims people!
  2. Thanks Duncan. The price I put up for the MXL includes all sensors I need ie oil pressure, fuel pressure, egt temp, oil temp, water temp, boost, lap timing beacon etc, as does the Defi. The Stack needs fuel pressure added, as well as timing gear, and I'd run an independant boost guage. This is where the cost starts to rival the others, and doesn't seem like such good value anymore.
  3. Yeah, the Defi and MXL offer similar value I think, as both have full logging features, and every reading necessary. To get the same sort of functionality in the Stack is a lot more expensive. It's another $850 to get a lap timing feature! The car is still registered, so having indicators as well as high/low beam and a fuel readout is still very beneficial, but both can be adapted on the Stack and MXL units. The defi may look more road than track, but it has all the same features as the other units.
  4. As do I mate. I think the Stack and Defi would be the easiest to read on the fly, but all have warnings so it's not really an issue. I'll check out what the Motec's are worth, but I dare say a lot, like everything else they make!
  5. Yep, sure does mate, as does the Stack and the MXL. I used to have a microtech dash in my old RX7. Was quite basic, but showed you everything you needed. Not sure how much the Motec dash is, but I don't run a motec and I think it takes it's reading directly from the ECU. It looks to be very similar to the MXL anyway, and I can make the MXL standalone. This is a link to each for reference: ST8130 http://www.stackltd.com/st8130.html Pista http://www.aimsports.com/products/mxl-pista/index.html
  6. I think I may have that DVD mentioned above... if so you can have it Richard. I'll have a look around for it tonight. I know I've seen it, just can't remember whether it was mine or not!
  7. D.amn, should have run my time a few years ago!!
  8. We're coming Troy! Engine bay is completely stripped now, engine is back, waiting on plenum and a few other bits and pieces and we're good to go! Haven't seen Ray's car yet, really need to pop down there and do some spying... I mean say hello If it was top 14 times I might just sneak back into Sandown... unlikely though
  9. Congrats on the new addition to the family mate! Busy time for you indeed
  10. That's pretty cool mate, never seen it before! Not really what I'd be after anyway though
  11. Hey Richard, if you can get one for significantly cheaper than $2800 I'd be be really grateful if you'd be able to pick me one up!
  12. Thanks for the tip Russ. I was contemplating the stack as it looks really easy to read, as well as having the analogue tacho which I think would be easier on the fly, but the cost of it to have the same sort of functionality of an MXL is up there... Cheers Dane
  13. Yeah, I'd say the defi is the pick of the bunch, but it's very pricey... NIB: Could you elaborate mate? Which AIM are you using? Is yours wired into the ECU, or standalone? Duncan: I just had oil temp, oil pressure, boost and water temp guages which I've sold. I want to clean up the dash area, as well as having the ability to time laps. The money I got for my Defi's, plus the sale of my stock cluster with 280km/h speedo, and my ECUTALK display, PLUS having to purchase a lap timer, has meant that the cost of buying one of these units is not too bad, hence why I'm going this way.
  14. haha you'd hope so! I think the guages are needed for my application, and I sold all my defi's so the price hit isn't quite so bad. $2800 is a bit ouch though, $1600 is a lot nicer
  15. I had a quote of $2800 for the Defi. It's pretty damn schmick, but a touch pricey... having said that, the Pista is looking to be around $2500 optioned up with boost sensor etc, and the STACK is $1600 +$500 or so for timing gear, plus having to buy a boost guage... so not a lot of difference. Technically you can't purchase the Defi outside of Japan, as it is supposed to be installed by Defi and Defi only. Have a contact to get one, but it's pricey. Wanna pick me up one in Japan Richard? Also, the track mapping doesn't work outside of Japan, which is a shame.
  16. Hey all, Anyone have any experience with Stack or MXL dashes? I'm tossing up between an MXL Pista and a ST8130 STACK. There's a fair price difference, but there's also a fair difference in functionality. Cheers Dane
  17. Hey Russ, what do you think of your STACK cluster mate? I'm tossing up between a STACK 8130 and an MXL PISTA at the moment, and not sure which way to go. Cheers Dane
  18. Ahhh so that was you... my mate told me about this on Saturday night, he saw the aftermath just after it happened. You're a De La boy then?
  19. The thing was huuuuuuuuge! It dwarfed the big cruisers
  20. Dush: No harm in offering! Sorry though mate, much too low... Andrew: PM replied
  21. Some serious yachts/boats in Portefino... I've never seen a yacht that big before, check out the size of the mast!
  22. I dunno Troy, that rack of yours gets me everytime!
  23. That's terrible news... RIP
  24. Hey, thinking of selling my defi's. All are in perfect condition, barely used as I rarely drive the car! Comes with everything needed for installation, no chopped wires, A1 condition. Water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, boost and a control unit II, along with stands for all guages. Also has a TRUST pillar mount to go with it. SOLD PM or reply here Dane
