crack

hey all. my skyline has started doing some wierd sh*t lately. when starting from cold i have to press the accelerator a couple of times to get it to idle properly. the revs rise to approx. 1200 rpm and then it settles down to normal as it starts to warm up. i never had to touch the accelerator when starting the car before. just turn the key, revs rise up to approx. 1200 rpm then settle all by its self. is there a idle valve or something similar that could be faulty or need cleaning? thanx.

I have had some success at work with welding cast iron with a mig welder. The trick is to use stainless steel mig wire. Just make sure all surfaces are clean and bevel the edges you wish to weld. Hope this helps. Failing that you can buy arc welding electrodes specifically for welding cast iron (if you have an arc welder that is).

congrats to you for crawling over your car and trying to do some fault finding of your own. you can learn alot about your car if you have a look for yourself for problems.

Hey all. I've not long had my R33 Skyline GTS25T and have decided to change the timing belt just for my peace of mind. My question is are all oil and water pumps the same across the RB engine range? Will an oil pump and water pump from a RB30et fit the RB25det? Have done a few searches but need something more conclusive. (am still a bit of a noob but slowly finding my way) Thanks.

How do I get the condensation out of my right rear indicator and how should I seal it?

sorry to butt in on this thread, but I was wondering what is done with regards to the stock boost control solenoid on an rb25. do you plug all the hoses but leave it connected to the ecu or do you disconnect it from the ecu also? i have done a search but cannot find a clear answer.

Does the R34 have a ceramic turbine wheel? If not, will it bolt straight onto the R33 manifold?

Lets make this an interesting thread. What have you found in your skyline? It's nothing special but I found a receipt print out for something in the drivers side door pocket written in Japanese. I don't know if it was for fuel or shopping but I was quite suprised to find it in the car. I am the first owner of the car in OZ but didn't think I would find anything in the car. (Didn't clean the car very well when it landed in Australia). Who else has found something in their skyline?

Yeah. I did it on my ED Fairmont. Just take the hose off the fuel rail but make sure the fuel pressure regulator is not attached to the hose. EFI pumps supply more fuel when there is a restriction. (fuel will go everywhere).

turn on the ignition and let the in tank pump do the job for you.
