  1. A picture? I was trying to think how I could take a picture of movement... I guess this might explain it? Should I be able to slide a piece of paper behind it when closed? Its loose enough to spin freely with my finger. I hope this helps?
  2. Hey guys, Ive just finished the painful process of extracting exhaust manifold studs, now apon inspection of my turbo (stock) I have noticed that the swing valve is loose? Sorry Im not all that clued on with turbos but I am assuming that should be shut pretty tightly? If it is supposed to be closed tight is there a way to adjust it? Not sure how it all works. Btw the actuator rod is tight, just the circular swing valve is flappy Cheers Edit: a bit mor info, the reason for doing the studs was exhaust leak (duh) now, one of the symptoms I was experiencing was a flucuation in boost. Almost like a flicker as it was climing. Now I just assumed that was part of the leaking manifold but now... Could this be caused by this?
  3. Mate, after just extracting the last stud I might just be in! I still need 2 new tyres and there is something up with the front left suspension, but if I sort that all out FOR SURE!
  4. Hey thanks Mate! Email is [email protected] Your welcome to come over for a beer or 3 anyways man, I need to meet some ppl!
  5. Yeah good work fellas. I bet you wish the feeling of getting that last one coming out could be bottled eh? I got the one out at the front yesterday, but just a note if your gonna try this yourself... Those bunnings right angle drill bits are... *shock*horror* ...shit! Dont bother with them. A normal drill is too bulky for the rear, and dont have air (yo, yo) So. Today I will source an actual drill thats smaller than the beefy panasonic and continue tonight. Thanks guys. Also I'm trying to find a rb25det workshop manual or something on the net to find out the order and torque when I put the manifold on? Know where one is floating around? Cheers.
  6. Oh and I got all oem exhaust manifold, Turbo manifold kit and stud kit from Kudos Motorsports. Just need these barstards out and I'm good to go!
  7. Hey Cheers Owen. So on Friday I asked my workmate about this, turns out he has done ALOT of this sort of thing. Doesn't want to do it himself because its been a while, but he has given me this little kit to borrow. I was expecting an easy out kit but what he has given me has brought my confidence levels up dramaticly. Check this design out! You drill the stud, hammer one of these in, put the collar over and turn with whatever! All I need now is a right angle drill bit from bunnings and some Imperial drill bits. Ok so the broken studs are (from front) #1, #10, #11 and #12. So one at the very front and 3 at the very back. It would seem the biggest obstruction would be the air con unit at the back of the engine bay. Dump pipe can of course can be taken off if its in the way. So I got the tools dude... You done this sorta thing before? P.S I got no idea how to upload a photo anymore? this took me fkn ages!

  14. Yeah Action was the place in Rhyde. Like... 2 hours away. Mate, I brought the car with shit compression (duped hard, dunno what he done between my test drive and picking it up 3 days later). Just had a new motor put in only for it to be given back to me with a leaking radiator. New radiator, installed it then exhaust leak. Spent $4000 on it in the last month only for it to be up on stands in my garage. Damn wrinkles, Iron out already!
  15. Yeah cheers. Ive heard all the horror stories thats why I'm asking if anyone knows someone mobile that does this sorta thing in the Illawarra. Theres a bloke in Rhyde I think, he would be the closest ive found? im gonna call him tomorrow see how far he covers. If that fails ill see what tools the local mobile mechanic has. If THAT fails please wish me luck...
  16. Oh well. Looks like I'm gonna have to down the beer myself, then give it a crack. Can get a good set of easy outs with matching left theaded drill bits for 50 bucks and bunnings has a right angle drill bit for 15... Thanks for everyones input!
  17. Hey guys, Got 4 exhaust manifold studs sheared off at the head. Im not too keen on attacking this myself and considering I don't even have the proper tools I thought I'd get a mobile thread remover dude around only... Can't seem to find one in the illawarra? Don't really know what a mobile mechanic is like? If anyone has the tools and confidence to boot, I have the beer or the cash Car is located in Albion Park. Cheers
  18. If you just got it, still have the reciept and its still BNIB... Why are you not just returning it?
  19. Ah thanks heaps fellas Ill check Skyline spares out
  20. I wanna minimise my chances of getting duped. Nothing there with any warranties, is there? (not being smart)
  21. Yoyo. My engine has finally gone poop. I new this was coming so its no big deal. Im in the Illawarra and after a bit of searching around trying to weed out anyone likely to dupe me I come up with Ichiban in Moorebank? They seem to have a good rep... Anyone got any other ideas? or would like to give me a headsup where not to go etc. I'm after a good comp, low k, stock RB25det for a series 2 R33. Thanks all
  22. Looks like very few follow the rules in the classieds on this forum... does anyone actually read the massive 'READ THIS BEFORE POSTING'?
  23. I'm pretty sure they don't fold electronically... but the tilt featues work.
