  1. Anyone who is seriously affected by paying an extra 4c per litre should not have bought the car in the first place. I hear that most of the cars built by Great Wall will run on 93, go and buy one of those. I would imagine that almost everyone here would have spent at LEAST $1000 in aftermarket parts and mods for their car, somehow the extra few $$$ on each tank of fuel just seems really trivial in the grand scheme of things.
  2. US octane ratings are different to ours, their 93 is the equivalent of our 98.
  3. I had him draw up a picture of my old mans Z4 and send it to him in Germany for his bday last year. He did an awesome job, even sent daily progress update images. The pic is now framed and hanging on the wall of his home office with all of his other car memorabilia. If you want something thats one-of-a-kind, I highly recommend przemek! Im pretty sure that he has dozens of examples of his work over on myg37.com
  4. Colin and I had a few photos of our cars taken side by side a few weeks ago and I can tell you that his is immaculate. The sedans go for significantly less than the coupes so depending on your budget, you should be able to get a great example by importing. If you look at one that's only a few years old with low kms then you are practically guaranteed that it will be in great condition. Which ever broker you go through will have their guy in Japan look over the car and tell you about any issues that it has as well as giving their opinion of whether it is a good example. These guys look over the same kind of cars day in day out so obviously know a good one when they see it.
  5. You're a legend Max. I have been meaning to spend some time going through and figuring this out for a looong time now. Your instructions above will definitely save me some time. One question.....I read somewhere (probably myg37.com) that you can only transfer about 50 or so contacts. Above you mention 300 contacts, have you confirmed that all 300+ work?
  6. Take it back to who ever tuned it and drive back and forth over him until he fixes it.
  7. Check out myg37.com they will have all of the info that you need. I really need to take my car to a track day so that I can completely destroy my pads. The damn squeaking when reversing drives me insane but I can't justify replacing them when they still have tons of meat on them.
  8. I'm with Shannans who with all of my previous cars only ever gave ridiculously high quotes but with the 36 gave the best deal. As everyone has said, shop around. I guarantee that with your age and the other details mentioned, you are going to get absolutely reemed.
  9. You can't compare them to what they cost in the US, everything is cheaper in the US. A 335i doesn't cost a hell of a lot more than a G37 in the US but they are well over $100,000 here.
  10. Correct. Thanks Max.

  12. Short answer no. Long answer no you cannot, the funny fat plug with lots of connections if for some sort of car phone. The USDM models have an ipod plug instead of the phone plug, so we lucked out. Just use one of the many other options, Bluetooth stream music from your phone, fill the music box up with music (takes a while but quality is great), plug something into the RCA connectors or use the minidisk slot. So many options........Ipod is like sooooo 2005.
  13. I'm waiting to hear back from Lance about when his group buy will be. The wait times on these exhausts are already pretty long so if its not going to be until after Christmas then I probably wont wait. Will post the timing of it hear when I find out.
  14. I wouldn't have everything shipped directly to me. Shipping should actually be a little less to Brisbane. I'm more than likely going to order mine either over the weekend or next week, whether anyone else is interested or not. I figured that if there turned out to be a few people who all happened to be interested right now that we could all order together and that Tony at Fast Intentions would be able to have everyone's fabricated and shipped at around the same.
  15. Perth. What difference does it make?
  16. So I'm about to pull the trigger and order both of these..... Before I do I thought that I would see if anyone else was interested in a possible group buy. If anyone is interested let me know and I will see if we can get a discount. Have a look at fastintentions.com and see if there is anything else you want. Cant wait around too long because these things are made to order and with Christmas coming up, will already take a while to arrive.
  17. Only had the v36 for about 18 months and am still in love with it so the gf will be getting the next chance to upgrade. From an 08 fiesta almost anything is a move up but she likes the 86. After that it will be my turn again and, depending on what comes out over the next 2-3 years, an R35 or a newer M3, will be on the radar. I love that BMW have gone back to a straight six and having driven a Z4 with the .same twin turbo six, I can imagine the evil things that BMW will be able to do to it.
  18. Thats it. Im moving to japan for a year!!! Need to figure out how to get a 12 month transfer to my companies Tokyo office.....
  19. *Cynicism suspended* I'm assuming that the R35 is purely for race purposes?
  20. Highly suspect for your first ever post on the forum to be plugging one particular company Todd... Uh.....I mean Hipogtr. Tell us a little more about this 'personal import' of yours or is the make and model confidential? It was probably a mail order bride.
  21. I couldn't disagree with this more. Traditionally car manufacturers have used motorsport as a testing ground for their technology before integrating it into their road cars. This may not be as true today as it was 20+ years ago with so many manufacturers having little involvement in motorsport but who on this forum would ever buy a car from one of those manufacturers anyway?
  22. $30,000+ car and no comprehensive insurance??? On a more constructive note, I run 32 psi on my 19's at all times. If she tested them after driving around for a while then its possible that they went up to 38 from 35. Way to high in my opinion though. Always check the tyre pressure when the tyres are cold.
  23. 4 wheel active steering, 19 inch rims, bose sound (actually think that maybe an option still), big brake kit, aluminium pedals, adaptive steering wheel and mirrors, sports suspension. I think that everything else is an option. If you are happy with the half leather then go for the S if you can, you get pretty much all of the above and have the choice of a manual box.
