  4. Joel if u say u have crap in your brake lines i would pull the master cylander and calipers off and rekit both and blow the air lines out with air compressor, as this "CRAP" will block the ports in the master cylinder.
  5. When it comes to brakes better to be safe than sorry i say. Personaly i would at least rekit the brake calipers and check that the flexible lines look in Good condition. Also use a better qaulity brake fluid after that so it raises the boiling point but most PBR fluids are pretty good anyway. If u dont wanna spend hell cash and havnt done it before i might give u hand to do it as i have done many before. Its not real hard just ime consuming.   6. Clunking can be worn suspension bushed mainly, also check that u have the anti rattle springs fitted to the calipers if they have them standard. BTW Joel i suggest same disc pads all round not standards in the back and Ultimates up front. Im not realy farmiliar with skyline rear suspension but more than likely its the radius rod bashes witch stop the wheel moving bakwards and forwards ander acceleration and braking.
  7. I may be able to get Dad to bring his drag car down for a run on the dyno just to sort fuel mixtures out. depends on his schedule , not deffinate but maybe. Prepare for tears if he does as it rens on methanol. Has a new supercharger setup and would realy fry the dyno under load hehe. Heres a pic of it in action
  8. Well then alot of mechanics would get into trouble wouldnt they ? If u r not towing a caravan it wont matter and how the hell would they even know they all lok the same and they wont strip your brakes to look at them. Dont worry about that if u want them fit them i would if it was my car , bugger what other ppl say. If u r not sure and r a goddy 2 shoes hehe ring the RTA and ask em if its legal. But as if i would carfe about that, i use what works for me.
  9. One thing that could cause that is sticky caliper pistons in the front. Suggest rekiting the front calipers , machine all 4 disks and put new disc pads all round of the same type and compound. If it is rear wheel drive only i would suggest u check the front dis hub seals as well and replace if needed. I would suggest BENDIX standard. They can take a good beating but wont be as hardy as Metal pads. Keep in mind if u drive realy hard for long period eg Exessive heavy braking for constant periods over short distances, and i mean realy realy thrashing it , they can fade slighty but personaly u can get away with standards easly, they can still take a fairly good beating. If u have brake ducting installed it shouldnt be a problem.For 100$ -120$ worth of pads i would give then ago first im sure u will be pleased and it would pull up fast and straight every time no rear whell lockup BS. It is ABSOLUTLY ESSENTIAL u machine the discs and do it propperly. Metal pads dont pull up as good either and also will chew your rotors out faster therefor costing u lots more $$$ in the long run. Personaly ide rather be changing pads that rotors every brake service. My advice put same pads all round and machine all 4 discs prob cost around 350-400$ all up dont quote me on that but better to be safe than sorry. If u rekit the front calipers it would prob cost another $200 around that figure, but i would try the pads and machine work first, thats what i would be doing anyway.http://www.bendix.com.au/_products.asp BTW asbestos will not be in any pads soon by law so if u can get hold of some BENDIX standard pads Joel i would buy a few sets as they will be rare as hens teeth soon. I always use bendix standard in all my cars no prb ever. the mechinc workshop i worked in thats all we ever found were and good from fleet cars to high performance. Also will help aviod brake sqeels. Its your descision in the long run but thats what i would do no ifs or buts. Saftey first then performance.
  10. Hi BOOSTMEISTER. Heres some advice from some one who knows about Drags. Before i give some advice ill tell u what my car can do. 12 second car. Specs r LC GTR Torana - 202 cubes hand made extractors , BIG solid race cam, roller rockers, 12 port race modified head 11.6-1 compression, Triple 45 DCOE webers, Race pistons fully balanced right thru to the diff, 3 speed Auto trans 5000 stall convertor, Ford Nine inch diff 4.56-1 ratio with M&H drag tyres which r a MUST for drags. Heres some pics http://www.geocities.com/chemistry_party/b...brad/torry.html Any way the best advice i can give u from what u have told me is that if u r running a standard ratio diff making the ratio higher eg from say 3.08 - 3.9 will prob take about 810ths of the ET and also stop your car from BOGGING. My car dropped 1 whole second from the earlier day when it was milder engine and was running 15.7 with 2.76 ratio when i changed it to 3.7 ratio. Doing this should drop your 60ft times to around 1.8 - 1.9 and the first 60 ft any "Drag Racer" will tell u this is where u make your ET its best. Also with fuel buy BP optimax for maximum Octane and add some NULON PRO STRENGHT octane booster to it. Suspension is CRITICAL and older soggy shockers can help. Drop tyre pressures to around REAR 18 psi front pump up to 45PSI for less rolling resistance"Most Drag Cars for a four link suspension setup with adjustable shockers but this is NOT suitable for street use" Other factors that help can be running a fuel cooling system such as an ice box setup wich needs to be fitted proffesionaly and if it is fuel injected high pressure mean it has to be leak proof and run dry ice in it. Dropping exhaust on some cars will upset the computer ECU and MAP sensor will have a spastic and it will run shitty. best thing would be a hi flow catalytic convertor and extractors with large diameter pipes. If u wanna spend some money MOST horsepower gains are made in modifing the Heads . Also an after market camshafts will make more power again but can run into quit a few hundred dollars. Another way to make some more power is a DYNO tune espicialy if they have computer editing propertys for modifying fuel curves etc. Any way this post is getting big , enough of this for now , if u want more info i can let u know but first thing i suggest is a higher diff ratio and good tyres. Here r some times i managed to to with my old crappy "he he " 202 6 cyl. ET 12.726 reaction .402 60 ft 1.782 333 ft 5.119 660 ft 8.078 mph 83.35 1000 ft 10.713 1/4 mile speed 108 MPH @ 7200 rpm as u can see even a car that weights 2800 pound with 125 RWKW can run 12 seconds.   11. Yes Joel it run 12s with my old shitty motor. Dont forget its set up for Drags and the driveline prob sucks 30 % of my horsepower, If it had a turbo on it it prob have 250-300 rwkw but thats defeats the purpose of my car, considering not many cars can keep up with it off the mark i consider it pretty fast for a normaly aspirated engine. Bear in mind it weights about 2800 pound and that aint very light :[ I like my old school engine if i had an rb20 i wouldnt be happy till it was pushing 600+ hp and thats a bit much for my wallet. Im prob gonna buy a skyline in a year and spend lotsa cash on that, may even sell my Torana and put the proceeds into the skyline engine : Oh and i forgot to mention it was smoking up on the dyno last time i run it so who knows how much it has with traction:]
  12. Yes Joel , But im sure it has more than that now, we will see ! When u r pushing it thru a Auto trans and a 9 inch diff u loose plent of power but ide rather sacrifice a bit of power for reliability. :]

  21. Ive been on these SMASA cruises before and they r huge. Like 3 - 4 km long worth of cars NS worth going too, im sure ill be going. Sunday 22nd SMASA Springtime Cruise. Sunday Day Cruise.

  23. I just wanna know some one will cruise along with me so i dont get lost. Yeah sure ill give it some squirts myself but not gonna race round corners like Peter Brock i mean Munro hehe. So if u e willing to hang with me so i dont get lost ill be in for it. Im not gonna do 50 kph trust me.

Yeah i can cruise at 130kph @ around 5500rpm car loves those revs, does handle reasonable eg can still corner but the shockers r 90-10`s so it tends to lift the front end to transfer weight to rear wheels , that can be a problem if u hit a bump going around a corner as u loose grip easy with the weight transfer. I am still considering going if ppl dont leave me behind even if i do 130kph but i would get lost as i dont know my way around those hills. So if some one wants to stick with me and knows where to go ill consider it. I bet traffic would hold most of u guys up anyway. Do as i do blow past em @ 121 decebels and scare the **** outa them and watch them swerve heheh.
