  1. All good man. I think you're right about taking the creatine and other pre workout gear is a waste of time initially. All those things are probably more beneficial once you try to up your intensity/volume after you hit that first plateau. It can have its place once you are a but more experienced. It's completely different when people are asking for your advice in the gym or on here in regards to supps or form etc. It just rubs me the wrong way when someone goes out of there way to tell you what your doing is wrong or whatever. Especially when it is clearly working better for you the way you are doing it in comparison to the results they are showing. I'm not the sort of person that would tell someone they are taking the wrong stuff or doing an exercise wrong, especially if they didn't ask for my advice. But that doesn't mean I'm not open to advice from people that are really experienced and clearly know what they are doing.
  2. There's quite a bit of research that shows low fat milk by itself is a good post exercise drink.
  3. Its basically impossible to e diagnose this sorta stuff man , but it Sounds like it could be a rib/intercostal issue. Any noticeable bulges/ raised areas near your sternum or right next to your spine on the injured side? How's your rotation through the thoracic spine? Compare one side to the other. Is the pain on breaths in or out? If you keep re-injuring it, check your form/ breathing while lifting perhaps?
  4. I wouldn't necessarily call experimenting with supps a shortcut. Everybody needs to try different stuff out and find out what works for them and what's a waste of money. Sure research and education come into it, but there's plenty of conflicting papers on the effectiveness of different things and the best way to take them. It seems like you are suggesting to not take anything at all, which is a little odd. I have definently seen better progress since taking protein. And I'm of the opinion that if I can get better results by taking something pre/post session, without jeopardizing my general (aka steroids) then why not? Did this person actively come up to you and ask you about what he should be taking and how he should be lifting? I have no problem with that if he did, but it really annoys me when people at gyms who think that because they have been doing it a while they are suddenly god of everything weight training related and can go around parroting there opinions to everyone that'll listen. It especially annoys me if they aren't even big. (Some skinny runt at the gym the other day came up and told me I was doing something wrong. It really rubbed me the wrong way considering I was at least twice as big, which is saying something of his size.) Not saying you are one of these people at all and I'm all for hearing your opinions and experiences with different things, as you make quite a few informative posts. However, my interpretation of some of the posts you make in this section,is that you tend to get on your high horse a bit.
  5. Creatine is cheap as chips these days so I figured I would try it out. To be honest, I haven't noticed much of a difference being on it. That might change once I go off it for a month after having been taking it for 8 weeks though. Kasko, were you wanting to do 2 weights sessions a day or something like a run in the morning and weights at night? If its the former, definently not a good idea. Going for a light jogg or something in the morning before breakfast shouldn't be too bad if it's low intensity. But if you're going to be pushing hard on the run or whatever, probably better to listen to everyone and stick with once a day at most.
  6. I'm no expert or anything, but I usually have about 20g of protein with 5g of creatine about 20 minutes before a session and then 40g of protein and 5 grams of creatine immediately after a session. Then I try to eat a heap of carbs within an hour or so after a session. Then snacks throughout the rest of the day that have plenty of carbs and protein in them. Works reasonably well for me, but everyone is different. Like Troy said, try to aim for at least 2g per kilo of body weight at least. If you go over its not that big of a deal, I'd rather have more than not enough personally...
  7. I can tell you it will be awkward as shit to do the sub scapular point and the arm ones properly on yourself...
  8. I believe you are referring to skin calipers. Do you know the points on the body to take readings?
  9. It's soul killing to find out the new protein powder you bought tastes foul, especially when you got 4.5kgs of it haha! You build up a tolerance to the taste after a few weeks of just necking it though
  10. Hypergear , nuff said
  11. Definently not the intake gear. There's some argument for an adjustable exhaust cam gear with aftermarket cams on an rb25, but on the stock stuff they won't do much
  12. I haven't done a whole lot of reading about having an l6, but I'd say that it would be part of your issue. Hopefully it all comes good for you. You still doing upper body work?
  13. I think I'll go the vanilla then. After my last experience with trying a new protein powder I figured I'd do some checking before i go balls out and get 5kg of the stuff. How's that injury going Troy? Any diagnosis yet?
  14. What was the verdict on which flavour of BN wpi to get? Also anyone tried there casein protein and if so which flavour/how was it?
  15. lovely Can I get by for a while with leaving as is and not do any major damage?
  16. Whiplash! Fark me that'd be epic...
  17. I was thinking it might be because im lazy and i was not rev matching when down shifting, but it has never made that sound before regardless of that.
  18. So today when driving my 33 gtst I noticed that when changing down gears to go round a corner, just as I let the clutch out something makes a screechy high pitched noise as it grabs. I was changing from 4th to second and the rom when it grabbed second would have been about 3k. Tried changing down to 3rd going 60km and got the same sound. Only seems to happen with a bit of load, so going from 3rd to 2nd at like 35km/h is quiet. Doesn't make any sound changing up gears. The clutch is a Jim berry full Monty. The only other odd sound I get from the gearbox/clutch is when trying to accelerate in too high of a gear it makes a whinny sort of sound til the revs pick up. It has done that ever since the Jim berry clutch went in early this year. So just wondering what could be causing the noise/ is it a major issue?
  19. I admire how fit the people that do those are, but have absolutely no desire to do anything like it myself!
  20. Sounds like Reversion. Put standard bov back on an plumb it into the intake pipe between the afm and turbo. Make sure the entry into the intake pipe is pointing at the turbo though
  21. I put bcs in my 33 the other week. Seems to be going ok at the moment. Get them from street to track. They'll be about $150 cheaper than justjap.
  22. May also be called the camber arm bush, but yeh she looks cattled...
  23. Fair enough. I'm not that concerned about weight. I was 73-75kg at 6'1 when I started going to the gym last October. Now I hover around 80kg and I daresay that would be more if I actually worked my legs for the first 6 months haha! I don't think I would like putting on fat and seeing definition disappear, hence why I'm not doing the bulk/cut thing to a huge extent. I like to be able to see the gains rather than having to diet to see them. I might try to drop a little bit of bf% once I'm happy with where my development is at, but the reality is that even at my current bf% my abs are easily visible, so I think I'm doing ok. Good luck with the cut, summer is coming up!
  24. I dont really get the whole bulk and then cut thing. I know you have to eat a lot of healthy foods with lots of carbs/protein when you are trying to put on muscle, but that doesn't mean you need to get fat I don't think. Sure if you are competing in body building comps then I can understand cutting, but for the everyday person why not just maintain a healthy diet and put on muscle at the same time? I'm by no means huge or anything but I have definently put on muscle over the last few months by eating healthy/lots in combination with doing weights. Most people seem to look decent to me before they start cutting anyway...
