Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
Mitcho_7 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
simple, get a better offset... -
Did you end up calling/emailing caltex about it?
-
Maybe email caltex and see if they plan to increase eflex availability in Canberra anytime soon?

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines

18x9 +25 is going to sit out of the guard 5mm more than +30... Also, if he rolls the guards the lip of the guard won't eat into the outside tyre wall. That is part of the reason you roll them. 18x9 +30 is the same size as 34gtr wheels and they seem to fit quite nicely on 33gtst's and 34gtt's -

Post pics when you get it done. You will have a bit of poke and need some guard work I think -
The twin scroll is definently appealing due to the response it gives, but the tight fit/complexity of the dual wastegate plumbacks is slightly off putting and probably expensive to get made. Top end wise it doesnt look too different to most gt3076r turbos with that boost, but i think the mid range would probably be better on the twin scroll setup When is your setup getting on full boost 34geeteetee ?
-
looks nice! Is the rear housing from atp turbo?
-
It sounds like such a nice setup, how hard/labor intensive was it to plumb back the gates and make the front pipe?
-
im guessing that graph above is the twin scroll gt3076r on 6boost manifold? Boost curve looks awesome!

R33 Gts Series 2 Offsets Wheel Sizes

If you go rota grids in 8.5" front and 9.5" rear, the concavity of the rims is quite different an looks odd IMO -
300Kw Unopened 25 Club...

Sounds about right to me -
Maybe just get Jez to tune both maps with 5 or so litres of the other fuel in the tank?
-
Wmi will probably work out more long term. The cost of the kit is comparable to injectors etc so that's negligible. Its Mostly due to the fact that the price of 98 will get higher because it's dictated by the cost of oil which we don't have much (if any) supply of our own, so we are at the mercy of OPEC and the us dollar cross rate. You also have to get methanol ($80 for 20l). Whereas e85 should be a steadier cost because it's made from things we have an abundance of on shore.
-
I think I'm going to go the wmi route until eflex is more available here, not as good but still better than 98 by itself...
-
85 is cheaper per litre but it contains less energy, so it probably work out the same as 98 cost wise/distance travelled. I think if you're going e85 commit and run it all the time or theres no point really. Then have the 98 map as a backup if you are caught somewhere that doesn't have it
-
Oh ok, it'd probably be a bit of a sl*t initially when you change maps but I can't see why it wouldn't work. You will probably end up on 98 most of the time because there's limited access to eflex in Canberra. Probably best to chat with Jez about it and see what he thinks. Edit: Jez just posted in here

Eoi For My 34, I'm Pondering Getting An M35 Stagea.
Mitcho_7 replied to Randon_I_Am's topic in Australian Capital Territory
I envisioned a slightly larger boat than that! -
Have you thought about how youre going to get home, because it's 400 odd kms and I don't think you will make it on one tank of e85. Is there a servo on the highway that sells it? Might have to carry a few jerry cans with you?
-
No they will not
-
I didnt even give that a thought, buy It's probably highly likely there is eflex still in the tank, because I doubt the tank was drained between the different runs. It would account for why there is such a large improvement over previous ss2's. I'm sure part of the improvement is also down to stao re engineering housings/wheels as well though!

Can you weld up something to run the external wastegate off the underside of the rear housing (and plum back into the exhaust futher down) rather than having to buy a new manifold or does that not really work that well?
