the belt has to come off. which means, all drive belts, balancer, timing belt covers, and timing belt.. with the timing belt you need to make sure the marks on the crank and the marks on the cams line up with the aligning marks before removing the belt, you dont have to replace the belt if its near new, there should be a dowel on the block for the pump but its critical to make sure the block is clean and theres no gasket or glue remaining cause you want to ge a good seal when the new one goes on when putting the belt backk on you should put it on anti clockwise so that the tensioner has all the slack and when you release the tensioner it tightens the belt.. i would seriously recommend you get someone with knowledge to do it cause you dont want to mess the timing up as these are an interference engine and if the timing is out you could possibly say goodbye to your engine.
