Lucky you live in queensland, you wouldnt be able to get it registered in SA. Have you got a hand controller? If so you can monitor knock, plus set the check engine light to flash if it detects knock. Do you know what size turbine AR? I have just changed my 3037 to 0.87 up from a 0.61 and I am wondering what to expect WRT lag. When do you start making boost, also when does boost hit hard? How are you finding traction? Cheers Steve

Problem, Huge random miss, NOT Boost CUT
Steve replied to EnricoPalazzo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Wasnt the plug to the ecu a bit loose/warped? -
dont count on it Matt, I absolutely wasted a charade the other day - until he started moving anyway:( But yeah, 2.6L OHC vs 1.8L NOHC (No OHC), better get a 3500 stally, then again, I think thats redline. Maybe I just need to drop in a suzuki mighty boy diff? Or we can give the sigma a weight disadvantage - bloody high performance imports....

Good idea TIMMAYYY, he has been looking for a performance edge:)

Dyno runs in first gear dont count Dean:p

Well my car was completely stock, so far HKS 3037S56T Manifold Clutch Cooler (you already have) ECU EBC full exhaust wastegate CAI and podbox Plenum Wheels Cradle bushes, and hardmount bushes castor bushes Coilovers strut braces sway bars several tunes for different stages, ranging from 200 to 600 a go Body kit (I justified this cos I wanted a big hole for my cooler) Cams Cam gear Headgasket A second plenum cos the first didnt deliver injectors fuel pump and a few other bits that dont rate a mention. I had a mate ask me what I had spent on the car to day (before another 1.2k for a plenum, or actually getting the cams and head gasket and new plenum fitted, which looks like it is going to cost 1.5K all up with all the added gaskets, head skimmed etc) and it was just on 30K so already that is closer to 35 (still have brake upgrade to do and camber arms and tyres) the biggest problem so far is getting the power down - I have 256 at 1 bar, but on 1.2 bar (not sure what it has) I cant get traction in any gear, so I will be buying some rear camber arms and some nitto tyres - hopefully sort it out. I have the head gasket going in this week, hopefully tune next week. Just a decent turbo set up is going to cost you close to 5K all up, need a decent ecu tuned (2K+), and a good clutch(1.2-1.5+), fuel pump(400 and injectors(1k) With the mods you have, you may just make it under 10k, but dont count on it - you still have to install the injectors, clutch and fuel pump - there is another 6-700. the above costs are conservative, like everything else the costs always blow out. Good luck - but I seriously doubt you car will be very driveable with a 700+hp turbo. Much better off going for a good steetable setup.

I would have to disagree, a good setup, from what I have seen will make power well past 7000rpm. My car has 7200 rpm redline (from power fc) and it pulls all the way, torque doenst even drop off - still heaps to come and its only a 'quick' tune until the cams and headgasket get fitted.

No fair, the excell has at least 32rwkw, but once I get the high stall.....

Dont worry unless you start seeing white bunnies.

You do and I'll come around your place and piss in your fuel tank:D

Ignition Breakdown (Techie Question)
Steve replied to Skyrine-Dave's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
well if its not fuel, its most probably ignition. I dont want to tell pork pies, but I have heard off this forum that the EMS wastespark setup was attributed to frying coilpacks. I have only heard of it the once. As GTSt suggests, probably a good idea to be looking there next. If you know someone with a skyline see if you can borrow there coilpacks for a couple of dyno pulls - will soon enough tell you if that is where your problem is. -
Great news whatsisname, I reckon it would have broken your heart to sell it, cos it was nearly breaking mine - too much time, money and love gone there to be giving it away. You never get the true value of a car back when you sell it. On another note, I think it is a bit harsh to be pointing the finger at the RPM guys, as with any dyno day, it gets publicised and you invariably get all sorts of hangers on coming around. (unless its a boring old SVD one )

Ignition Breakdown (Techie Question)
Steve replied to Skyrine-Dave's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
What fuel pump are you running? does EMS have fuel cut? -
doxximus, I think you have been using your back arrow too much. the other posts are on the other (duplicate) thread:D

And I'm bringing the Gemi, did I mention shes got 29rwkw now?
-
Yeah it shits me when they do that (scratch bonnets etc) - so you must really hate birds too:D And if you are ever around my way, please dont run over the burmese or the big fluffy grey cat:D

I dont know how much he got for the Soarer, but if I did, its his business and I dont like discussing someone elses business esp on the internet. Didnt know about his neons either, are you sure they were for him? I will be a bit shocked to find out he's a closet ricer.

Electronics Noob question here, but why do you need the additional diode when you are using 6 already? sorry if this is a really dumb quesiton:D And thanks for the very detailed description and photos.

Dirty low life mother farkers, flogging is too good for the mungrels. Makes me so bloody angry Should let the guys know to get on here and post up a list of the missing bits - at least it increases the chances of the little pricks getting caught.

Should i install a lightened flywheel
Steve replied to a topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Vibration would have me thinking out of balance - doesnt sound right to me. I have been passenger in cars with lightened flywheel and never noticed any vibrations or noises. My car has a lightened flywheel but its part of a twinplate clutch setup - so I suppose that doesnt really count. I would have thought that any performance flywheel would have been balanced (or at least checked for balance) as part of quality control? -
So you've known Martin long? Or Nino as you prefer to call him....hehehe still find that funny. Martin donnon Nino D'Montarn So where did you meet him Sonic? I wasnt aware that he has owned many GTRs, just one soarer?

Thanks Steve. KamikazeR33, I think you are lucky you asked the question, so glad I have HKS cams now:)
-
Probably need to get a spray can instead. Someone out there obviously has a good sense of humour:D Dont like cats? what have the poor little moggies ever done to you? Reminds me of a story you might like Dean, a few years back a mate went to malaysia with work, and when he was wondering the streets he found an open air restaurant that sold cats! Had them in cages so you could pick which one you wanted. Recons he picked out the biggest ginger tom he could find and enjoyed every last bit:rolleyes:

New FMIC & Aftermarket BOV, what to do?...
Steve replied to Anquetil's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Turbosmart sell an adaptor that fits to the stock BOV location just to the left of the throttle body.
