  1. Think he big difference is power fc gives you the ease of adjusting without having to plug an computer in, which can be handy. Also allows for monitoring of systems, AFM, injectors, knock, revs, speed, boost blah blah. Another big plus with the power fc is that it is fully portable and can be resold alot easier than a chipped ecu. Bottom line, is it worth it? Perhaps that is something that only the person fitting the power fc, or remapping their ecu can answer, but remapping is definately a good cost effective way of squeezing more out of your car. If you have a chip already, makes remapping even more cost effective.
  2. MattyB, sorry I have no idea where the flow efficiency of the standard fuel lines starts to deminish. I did a bit of research into fuel system to support 600+hp, and not once was I advised that the fuel lines would need upgrading, just injectors and pump.
  3. Nice result Dean thats excellent power with stock cooler, must be a nice fresh engine. I think my clutch said enough at about that sort of power - time for a twin plate:D Hope you didnt have tooo much fun in the wet last night;) BOOSTD, were those results with CAI? My car got alot more responsive with a CAI and partition. Dont know about dyno results cos they always did them with the bonnet up:)
  4. No I wasnt pissed the other night, just had visions of trying to kill someone with a BOV and it all just sort of got out of hand:D I personally believe that if you are carrying on, and get pulled over, then ok. But if you are doing the right thing, wankers. How many lambourghini owners get pulled over cos the exhaust may be a bit loud, or the car is a bit low. I have seen a couple of lambo countach, and a diablo - those f**kers are slammed - but I can guarantee the owner would never get defected cos it looked a bit low. Some coppers are just plain power tripping f**kheads - they give decent coppers a bad name. To qualify, I do have mates that are coppers, but they are all in the west. (and a AFP)
  5. I think it is about 10mm or there abouts anyways. It is only required because the banjo fitting was too big for the smaller stock hose. From memory, the stock hose from the fuel pump to the top of the tank is already 8mm. I dont know if it would be necessary to use upgraded hose from the tank unless you were running massive pressure? Alot of guys here take rail pressure alot higher than stock and still dont have trouble with leaking lines.
  6. Yeah, well I have unique shit, but its still shit:D
  7. Eppilogue to dyno tune. I saw Martin today, he spent a total of less than 1 hour doing a complete remap of the original tune. Results speak for themselves. The two runs are before and after (of course), but also got the idle sorted alot better (no more hunting) and it doesnt cut out when decellerating anymore (only did it occasionally). Plotted in shootout mode (the only accurate way, eh Martin;)) the correction was only 1.029, so bugger all. Anyways doesnt make alot of difference, as there is before and after runs.
  8. Perhaps you should let TRY09 know what he has been doing wrong all this time then.
  9. ricknismo, they look very similar, but are different enough that they wont fit.
  10. Ikeya formula brand new, www.d1garage.com
  11. Hmm, thats a thought. I wonder how much it would cost to import a 'for wrecking only' car?
  12. Congrats again, looks like I'll never catch your rwkw figure now. Best you see if what happens when you hit 1.5 bar, I have heard that is when HKS turbos really start to shine. Just get them to pull a bit more timing:D So whats on the cards for traction now?
  13. How is the response compared to the old turbs?
  14. Shame, hippy, shame
  15. Congrats on a nice result Matt, so where is the dyno graph?
  16. Your choice. If you dont want to drop the boost from what it is set at when you tune it, no need to go z32 afm.
  17. OK folks, slang terms for genitalia of any genter are out! getting back to the subject, bloody defects for bloody shit. MADGT4, I would definately be checking to see if coppers get their ears calibrated before they go on patrol, just to make certain they can tell the differnence between a car at 89dB and 90dB. Without testing, how in gods name can they fine you for it. Be a bit like saying " I knew you were speeding, cos you have done it before, so have a fine" Man its just bull shit.
  18. that didnt work either - physical challenge, a complete list of words that you cant post, how about ****
  19. **** **** ****, just testing fark
  20. Has anybody noticed that you cant type the word c0ck, even when using it legitimately such as c0ckroaches, ****, ****, ****...
  21. Just had another thought, you could tie it around the neck of any kittens or little puppies (no good for big puppies) that need to be drowned.....pure bloody genius. Throw it at footballs when they get suck up in trees.... OK, I'll stop now.
  22. Hippy some bov are pretty big, perhaps you could hit someone with it hard enough you could kill them. Beside that, they are very useful. You could use them for pest control - throw them at rats and larger ****roaches, mormons etc. You could put it on the coffee table, after a good cleanup, and use it as a conversation peice. Be very handy if you had unwelcome visitors. You could even use it to chock your wheels if you have to change a flat, but it would be better to use a brick. It would also make a good paper weight. Perhaps you could even use it to stop air reverting through the compressor of a turbo and causing damage. Nah sorry, just being plain silly now. By the way, anybody want to buy a bov? I have a spare one - shiney and red....hmmm.
  23. No indent. The pintle acutally protruded further than the stock one does. the leaking problem was definately the fault of the undersized o-ring provided. The injectors themselves sat quite firmly in the rail, and had to be pulled down with the injector cap screws.
  24. Your tyres will not be flat on the track. If you set up the camber on your car, then it squats, you no longer have optimum camber. TRY09 used solid metal bars in place of shocks/springs to ensure the camber didnt change, then used the sidewall compression to take car of the rest. The only other option is to set up camber positive to make sure that the wheels sit correctly when launching. this is pretty difficult to do, so it is best to get a good alignment (for drag) then set up your sus so that it changes as little as possible when launching. You may get all of the tyre on the track when launching, but that doesnt mean that the whole tyre is doing an optimum job. More weight on the inside will mean less traction. This is of course with IRS, live axles are completely different as they wont change their geometry.
