  1. Joel, I was under the impression that R32 RB25DE's had no VCT, but the R33 RB25DEs had VCT - this is what I have been told by a what i consider a reliable source (well a couple acutally) when I was looking into buying a RB25 head for RB30 build.
  2. GTiR throttle cable fits on R33 with front facing plenum. I have been told you can get the stock cable modified as well. Two spots on the steering rack? why not use an R33 steering pump? I think the R32 have like a dual pump with two lines for the rear hicas, and two for the front steering. If your pump has 4 outlets, do 2 of them run from a seperate resevoir? Sorry I dont have much of an idea what is exactly wrong with the power steer - but interested to hear what the problem/solution and outcome are? Cheers
  3. The sound like a stone hitting, was it very loud? I am thinking (but hoping I am wrong) that it MAY be the timing belt? You also mentioned other noises when the car was slowing down. Just a thought. If you get someone to turn the car over while the oil filler cap is off, you will soon see if the cams are turning.
  4. Well I havent been giving it much yet, because it isnt tuned to the new injectors, just correction via the power fc. I drove it just on empty, took 57 litres to fill and no probs. Richard (also D1) gave me a hand fitting it - got me to trace around the stock pump on a piece of cardboard to make sure the pickup (transferred from the stock pump) was in exactly the same spot. The other major problem (according to richard) is that sometimes, because it is quite difficult, the pump doesnt get put in the tank quite to the same depth as the stock one, therefore problems when the fuel level gets down. It took a little massaging of the locating lugs on the stock bracket, but eventually got it in place properly, so the pickup sits right on the bottom - but all seems fine so far, touch wood. INASNT, I dont think it is a major problem if you get a turbo with a GT25 flange, just get an adaptor plate made up - costing me about $50 (from memory) to get one made (Evan-PSI Fabrication), and that is matched to the manifold and turbine housing.
  5. Dreg01 - think you may have trouble selling the stock bottom end for anywhere near $600, esp if you are stripping bits for the 3L. My opinion only, but sydneykid got lucky.
  6. INASNT, no I didnt hear, poor bugger, hope he is ok. Your order should be ok, as he passes the orders on to japan as soon as he gets them, if you are unsure, just contact the japan office. MattR - I was really impressed by the flow of the injectors, so was the guy who did the testing. Am still waiting to get them tuned. It would have been so much easier if they fitted first time is all, or if I had a front facing plenum. Also, must admit I was a little dissapointed that the o-rings they supplied didnt fit properly. From all accounts they are good injectors, and they arent hurting your figures any:D Just hope when all is fitted, I might be making similar power - only time will tell.
  7. Intank
  8. Ah, couldnt contain yourself either! I did make sure I didnt mention your name when i posted it up, but I spose the cat is out of the bag now:)
  9. Sorry Greg, I couldnt contain myself:( Just looked too purdy to be hidden away
  10. The stock plenum on the neo apparantly has different injectors to previous RB25s. They are a skinny plastic injector, and the biggest about are 440 odd cc from HKS. this is from a mag article (HPI) of a Neo buildup. But probably wouldnt be a hassel if you dont intend tuning very hard, or decide to get a different plenum?
  11. HKS have a 2835 PRO S photo of the inducer is on this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...25&pagenumber=2 compare with mine:
  12. Happy birthday, so are you putting the beers on Andrew?
  13. Not sure about that, but have you noticed the 56T with a 0.61AR turbine is the same price as the 52T? Hard to know some times how this pricing thing works
  14. First thing I would be checking is ALL (and there are alot of them) of the hoses to and from anywhere on the intake line. I had this problem and it was a leak. Secondly, check your BOV, as if this is leaking, it will cause a similar prob. Out of ideas now:)
  15. The inducer is the intake part of the compressor housing. the split around the outside seems different on yours, as mine is straight down. I will pm you the purchase price:)
  16. I think mine looks like the one on the website (US one), but that doent mean alot I spose.
  17. My avatar is a 56T that I bought new about 5 months ago. It was a bit cheap, so maybe it was a old model runnout? Think I will check for photos on the HKS website:) Edit the inducer of mine seems a bit different to yours?
  18. EVOIV, is that the 52T or a 56T, I ask cos it looks abit different to mine. do you know if that is an old model or the current one? Cheers
  19. Got one, seems to work well cos after it was fitted my clutch died. Very noticable increase in power. Like SLY33, cant comment on a comparison to other coolers, cos I havent had any others fitted to my car:) apart from the stock POS
  20. Not slipping the clutch? Make life interesting at the lights, and in the wet:D
  21. Mine were a bit under 1K from greenline. Probably a bit cheaper now that the AUD is a bit stronger. The injectors themselves flow really well, all less than 1% difference - I had them flow tested prior to fitting. In fact 5 were bloody close to identical flow, and one was just a poofteenth lower (0.5ml per 100ml on open flow)
  22. SLY 33, how loud is your 044? - mine I can only just hear it with the ignition on but engine switched off. I have a nismo exhaust with dual muffler so it just purrs at idle, but I cant hear the pump at all. I wouldnt be in a hurry with the extreme clutch - mine was good for about 6 months then it started dying. I know a couple of other guys who had problems running just over 300rwhp. I ended upgrading to a os giken twin, wish I had gone that way in the first place. Nice score on the turbo by the way, you'd have to be happy:)
  23. Pretty sure there is, perhaps give GCG a call, although they are a bit expensive. Worst case, I would have thought Hills could hook you up?
  24. With HKS turbos you need to buy the cartridge complete, then fit your own compressor and turbine housings - not too sure about putting the wheels you have on a garrett centre, sorry. A HKS cartridge expect to pay from about $1400 direct from japan. Bush bearing rebuild kits are only a few hundered dollars by comparison, so alot cheaper. As for identifying your turbo - wouldnt have a clue if its got no markings.
  25. Just a heads up for anybody putting in Sard injectors. I just finished fitting 550cc side feeds to the skyline, and incurred a few dramas. the main problem was that the o-ring supplied on the injector was too small and leaked fuel when the ignition was switched on. It didnt actually leak out, it bloody poored out almost to the point of spraying! Lessons learned. 1/ Make sure you pressurise the fuel rail before replacing the throttle body (stock plenum) as it is still possible to remove and check the injectors with just the fuel rail in place. (unfortunately I was under the impression that as I had purchased the injectors and collars from sard new - that all would be ok. 2/ Remove the sard o-rings and use the stock injector o-rings. They are alot fatter than the sard ones and they seal! 3/ To remove the stock injectors from the rail, if you twist the injector to free it a bit, then spray crc or similar - they still dont come out very easily. I ended up just tapping the pintle with a hammer and out they popped. Either that or be prepared to get really frustrated. 4/ It is so much easier to just pay someone else the $200 odd that it would have cost to get the job done. 5/ The power fc % correction for injectors works pretty bloody well:D Started up straight away, no smoke out the exhaust. Hope this may be of help to anybody else thinking of doing these themselves.
