  1. gazza, that looks alot like the 'stealth' version, you can fit the nissan cat outer cover and the heat probe. Nice score Jolinator
  2. I know of a good home, can you pm me a price cheers
  3. spoken like someone who has never run a cat-out pipe, they make a noticeable difference to mid range and throttle response. D1 Garage in SA can get them for you as well www.d1garage.com Another option is get an exhaust shop to weld a pipe through an old cat, a mate got it done in SA for $40 - bashing the guts out doesnt tend to have the same results from what I have been told (by tilbrook auto and dyno in SA). gazza, cats are pretty much a standard size on nissan.
  4. Cant answer the turbo one, but I got permits for strut braces, intercooler and piping, pod, manifold (stainless), guages, bride seats, steering wheel, hand brake lever, shift knob, etc I also have 17" wheels (17x10 and 17x9) coilovers and cat back - the guy said they dont give permits for them as "they are either legal or they are not", but in total I got permits for around 10 different things. The car had just been through a full inspection to transfer rego - I just paid $37.50, went back to them and they wrote the permits up on the spot.
  5. No, your right, much better to not get permits then bitch when you get defected for something you could of got a permit for. and yes, they are laminated.
  6. Some cops are a bit overzealous, for want of a better word - but please guys, you must realise, if they get calls because some tool has been watching drift and decides to start carving up the roads around where people live OF COURSE the police will come out. If they didnt, then people would be complaining the police are doing nothing. If you really do think you are getting the short end of the stick - and lets face it, alot of people do, then complain to your local MP - they can actually do something. And if you are worried about getting defects - go and get permits. I got permits for all my mods, and my car is pretty heavily modded - very cheap peace of mind for a whole $37.50. Alot cheaper and easier than screwing around getting stickers removed. Usually, its a few tools out there on the road that make everyones life harder.
  7. If you get into trouble finding one, give the guys at D1 Garage a ring - 08 8294 1355. They can get anything from J land
  8. you dont have to be good to enter - its track time, and all track time is good track time. Last comp there were a few that had never been on the track drifting before, as well as the one before that too. So dont be shy, it would be an excellent experience getting on the track with some of the best drifters in australia (I cant drift for shit, and I am getting out there )
  9. There are a few skylines that will be getting on the track too
  10. Gates open at 8am, practice at 10am, they have a show and shine or something around midday, then the battle begins early arvo, goes to around 7pm.
  11. yep, James car. Dont want to run avgas, as it roots the O2 sensor. Does anyone know if you can get Martini 110ron here?
  12. I copied these links from the www.westdrift.com site: http://www.wascc.com.au/15%20April%20Suppl...Regulations.doc http://www.wascc.com.au/15%20April%20Entry%20Form.doc hope that helps
  13. cheers, but running out of time - its for the drift comp on fri/sat This is the car its for. Note its been raised 2 to 3 inches for transport Its off its face, the car absolutely rips. It would be a shame if it had to be de-tuned
  14. anybody know where to buy 102ron ulp, needed urgently...
  15. Hi all, One of the guys coming over for the Drift Battle at waneroo uses 102 ron fuel. They wouldnt transport it across from SA as its classed as dangerous goods. Does anybody know where in WA you can buy 102 ron ULP? this is needed quite urgently, as the comp is this weekend (and practice on friday) thanks heaps Steve
  16. Nismo is definately the way to go if you are after bolt on simplicity, and it works well. Be careful stretching stock injectors, I have seen so many RB25s go bang because they push the fuel system to the limits - its a shame because the RB25 can handle decent power if you just do things right and dont cut corners. Another use for fpr (other than stretching the stock injectors) is to dial up the correct base pressure for aftermarket injectors. Sard, Nismo, HKS etc all rate their injectors at a base pressure (at idle) of 3.0kg, instead of the stock 2.55kg. The sard 550cc injectors, for example, are only rated at 520cc with base fuel pressure at 2.55kg (this is from the AP engineering site) I asked a japanese performance mechanic to check my car to see if I was missing anyting - internally stock rb25 with 320rwkw. He suggested I should fit a fpr to bring base fuel pressure up to 3kg (sard injectors) - It was explained to me by him that using 3kg was 'best' for idle, fuel correction, accel enrichment etc when using power fc.
  17. It looks like a rays 7 sided nut? anyway, try places like vision R or evolution r etc, would be my best guess. Otherwise, there is a sponsor on NS.com that sells rays nuts, my be able to help. g/l
  18. Have you taken it to welshpool and asked them whether you can get a permit or not? and dont worry about other peoples opinions (opinions are like arseholes - everyone has one) - its your car, do what YOU want
  19. Not with C-red anymore. I hope to enter this one will get handed my arse nice and early so I can watch all the guys carve it up
  20. Some decent drivers coming over from SA this is going to go off, it will be HUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGEE by far one of the cheapest days entertainment around - and very worthwhile checking out. I took my brother in law to the last comp - he hadnt seen drift before. He stood there slack jawed and wide eyed, as the first round of cars came onto the track at huge speed throught the biante Ses. Watched them sideways with smoke pouring off their tyres hammering it up the hill linking Shell corner with screamers wailing and rev limiters being abused. Mesmerised, until all the lads had driven by - he mumbled 'I cant beleive it, this is farking nuts' (strong words for a devout christian )then turned to me with a huge grin, shaking his head. It really is awesome entertainment - dont miss it or you will miss out.
  21. Go down to welshpool, and have a chat to them - they will tell you if you can get a permit for it or not. Its the only way to know for sure.
  22. Are you talking about FRP? if so, I understand that FRP is a little more flexible than straight fibreglass. the FRP bodykits I have seen tend to be pretty light weight tool. hope that helps
