  1. WE is collective not singular
  2. Saw MattR's 32 at the on the dyno at tilbooks today - nice numbers - impressive boost for stock internals. Was nice to see a car there putting down decent numbers - most of what I saw was up between 70-90rwkw - oooohhhh.

Mel, how are 'orion' speakers/amps. the guy in the shop showed em to me, but I have never heard of them? Anybody else heard of these?
  4. Its cool, changed my mind now:p decided I dont need to pm you:D

Found that one out the hard way:(
  6. Hippy, clean out your mail box!!!!
  7. Rob, HKS 2835, or a garrett gt30, just make sure you get one with a smallish turbine AR ratio:) Either of those should be fine. If you have a talk to the guys Per4manz, or SST - I'm sure they would be able to find the perfect turbo. Your aims for rwhp v's lag seem pretty realistic, depends on how much you want to spend at the end of the day. INASNT, Evan (PSI fabrication) is making it.
  8. Everywhere - bargain pop up all over the joint, on the forums, local, interstate and overseas - just gotta know what you are after and keep an eye open. Have bought stuff off SAU, SDU, performance forum, C-red, D1 Garage , Just Jap, FVEJ and Greenline.
  9. One that slips..hehehe. Power always looks for the weak link, upgrade the clutch and it will move down the drive line. I would say in Clints case it was probably the tyres, therefore when the new tyres went on, the gearbox took pole position.
  10. Just had a look at one place, but I think there are others.... http://www.horsepowerinabox.com/mall/ic24.asp
  11. What sort of rpm? I'm not sure exactly where I saw it, either a magazine, or internet site where they stated they tested the stock cooler and it had a huge drop above 6000. 2 psi is bugger all.
  12. No it wasnt acutally Fluffy - he bought it chasing trucks But the soup story is true.
  13. I see where you are coming from Joel, have heard that theory before, but also the 'fixed loss' theory - ie with same running gear, the loss will be xx amount with only a small variation to allow for additional heat loss. So which one is correct? Doesnt make sense that if you turn the boost up for every 100kw at the engine, the gearbox, diff and wheels will chew up 30kw. (or does it) Becuase if you had a 600kw engine, that would mean at the back end you are only putting down 420kw, or 180kw driveline loss - that must be enough heat to cook a chicken in about .0000012 seconds ....j/k about the chicken I would be really interested to see before and after, or BHP vs RWHP dynos on cars...it all gets a bit confusing sometimes.
  14. HKS 2530, try here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...5274#post365274 Start form about 2.4k with wastegate and gasket - and you can sell your old turbo for a couple hundy back. Be very careful with second hand HKS turbos - make sure they are tested and ok - I heard from a someone I consider VERY reliable, that a major importer of second hand turbos here in aust - only one in ten are ok - rest are on their last legs. If you have to rebuild, the whole cartridge must be replace, therefore its more expensive in the long run. RB20 DET has only 8.5: c/r - so should be fine to boost to 1.2 bar all day every day (yes I have seen it done) with a decent cooler. As with any car make sure your fuel pressure doesnt drop, injectors all flowing ok etc. Another 0.02 At this rate, all these 2c are going to start adding up
  15. It does seem that some people get away with it for a while - others dont. You turn up the boost it MAY cause problems - keep it down and you should have a turbo that last a while - choices:) If you have a stock cooler, I 'think' (cant remeber exactly - anyone confirm?) its like a 7+psi pressure drop above 6000rpm -so if you are boosting to 12psi, the turbo is actually pumping 19+ (if the figure above is correct). The big problem is the ceramic exhaust wheel, which is fragile - the compressor wheel places more load on the turbine wheel as the boost increasesie the compressor wheel has to work harder, the turbine wheel has to turn the compressor wheel - there for the load on the turbine wheel is incresed. When the air is colder, the air is denser, so it may even be worse in theory. This is how it has been explained to me anyhows.
  16. OMG its Fluffy - teach him to go off wondering - better not show the kids that one. I had cat once - got some chicken soup from a local chinese shop (this is about 20 years ago), it didnt taste quite like chicken, but it was tasty anyways - 1 week later there was a big bust by health inspectors, apparantly (according to the paper) had 60+ cats out the back in cages. Just glad mine was a nice tender one - heard some of those big ginger toms can be a bit chewyas they get on in the years.

Ah, so sat morning - go to complete audio to give miss nismo the shits eh???
  18. Obviously saw the error of their ways. Couldnt you weld up the R32 one? - good for a spare.
  19. 110kw loss for driveline? Seems a bit high. Is this estimate or engine dyno and roller dyno?
  20. As what skyzerr33 said:) Safely, with stock cooler, 10psi, with fmic 12 psi. Fuel cut is usually about 12 psi, so around .8bar. Some cars seem to do ok on 1bar, some die a horrible death - depends on the health of the turbo???? With the stock cooler there is a pretty large pressure drop above 6000rpm, and boost pressure is measured at the plenum - so thus the difference in safe boost.
  21. Anything in particular? The 550cc injectors there are very expensive for what they are, low impedance top feed and second hand - they are charging about the same price as side feed high impedance new from japan. Their lightened flywheels seem like a good buy at $295, but they weigh 6kg - second hand from Jap, I have seen 4.5kg flywheels for less. Bottom line, sometimes places sell some stuff really cheap, other stuff not so cheap. I wouldnt say they are no good - just depends on what you are after.
  22. HKS 3037S 56T, getting custom manifold, dump etc made up and getting it all ceramic coated - inlcuding the turbine housing. Just waiting to get it fitted - starting to itch..... I also have cams on order from Japan (being made) head gasket, exh cam gear, injectors, pump etc. The waiting is killing me!!!!
  23. oops, my bad, didnt notice the raw data at the top...thanks:)

Any discount is a good discount:) Thanks Mel
  25. BOOSTD, could you post up the raw date, might see how it compares to mine as well:D Cheers Steve
