Ender, how does fitting adjustable camber to the front help if the camber is already ok? which it should be on a stock Skyline. For not alot more, you could get an adjustable swaybar - much better bang for your buck.

New plenum and intercooler. (contains pics)
Steve replied to JimX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
JimX, another reason you probably found better response is you have cut down the lenght of the pipework by heaps (50%ish) = alot less volume of air to be moved before the fun begins:) Engine bays look so much neater with a front facing plenum too:D nice work -
Dude, that sucks. Electronics usually are pretty reliable - no moving parts. Was the problem there when you bought it or did it arise down the track? Alot of people buy second hand without dramas (including myself, got a second hand power fc), so maybe its just that if you buy second hand, either get a written guarantee, test it on the spot (doesnt take much to plug in a power fc) or make sure you get it checked out before paying. Cos its a good way to save dollars:) I am pretty sure hikari will offer a guarantee that it works when they sell them anyways. I am getting a fuel pressure reg off him and he told me I have 30 waranty.

yes 6 rods = 12 bearings Rods have two 'ends', the big end at the crank end of the rod, and the little end at the piston end of the rod. the little end is a hole that the gudgeon pin goes through. the big end is in two halves that bolt together around the crank. The part that goes opposite the rod, around the crank, is called the endcap - this is why there is 12 bearings for 6 rods, 1 bearing half goes on the rod side, one half goes on the cap side - making 2 bearings per cylinder. I think Sydneykid has answered this in a previous post, aftermarked adapters are available?

Hi capacity Fuel Pump and Fuel Economy
Steve replied to adam 32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Macka, the question beggs asking - how much time do you spend OFF boost? -
Something just doesnt seem right here, looks like you are dropping 2.5ish psi drop, I would have expected dramatic change in the power curve????? Those little hiccups, are they the NVCS? about the right rpm isnt it? Just doesnt add up:confused:
-
Well if they tell you it has a function and you dont understand what it is, ask them to explain - or you could start a new thread "ECU's the good bad and ugly" get input from alot of people, ask lots of questions, then go and talk to 'em
-
There are a couple of autronics dealers in perth - go see them. If they say the wolf is no good, ask them why, find out what the autronic has to offer that wolf doesnt. Then go and see Steve, or you could do it the other way around. That is a pretty big price difference, you would expect alot better funcionality.
-
Why dont you go and visit Steve at SST and ask him what he thinks and what the ecu can provide. Take all the info you have on the autronic, tell him what you like about the autronic, and see what the wolf has to offer. At least you live somewhere that the knowledge and experience is readily available - use it to your best advantage.
-
JiMiH, they are for WRXs. If you have 4wd, you could try putting in pineapples and upgrading springs and shocks to keep the car level during the launch.
-
Wouldnt surprise me if it did, seems to have just about everything else you could ever want from a street/strip ecu.
-
Pretty sure it has self tune and traction control that the wolf doesnt have.
-
Spose upgrades could be cheaper too, only have to buy 4 injectors, cheaper manifolds, cams etc. Besides which, nothing wrong with doing something just for the hell of it - good luck with the project, and (needless to say but I will anyway) keep us all informed:)

Good old Aus oxford schollar is coming on strong too:) always helps.

Why? would have thought RB20s are good, cheap(relatively) and reliable engines - a track can kill just about anything cant it? What are the advantages of the SR20 over the RB20 (pardon my ignorance)?
-
Who would you sooner buy parts of: a) the guy who works at a performance shop and drives toyota echo, or B) the guy who works at a performance shop and drives a skyline that has had thousands of dollars in research thrown at it to get the right set up?
-
Then again, its good to see some people have their priorities right, just think how many dollars people waste in the search for the ultimate setup - and graciously share that knowledge so that others dont have to waste it as well (then again is research for such a worthy cause ever waste?) - god bless one and all who have 'too much' money on their hands and thankfully spend it in the right place:D 0.02 incl gst:)
-
Thanks Paul, I do have another quesiton/s (and probably more to follow) - the inbuild boost control, what does it use to control boost? Does it come with a solenoid? Or do you need to get one of these? Could it be used with say an apexi boost control solenoid (as I already have one of these with the power fc)?
-
If you got the time, its not a bad place to visit, and the skyline scene is pretty bit over there - sure some of the lads will look after you - they're a pretty friendly bunch. On the way back you could do a few high speed runs on the nullabor - oh that is if wasnt illegal. Just make sure you have an oil cooler for barbagello:) (autobahn - $800 odd with thermostat) Goddammit I think I am beginning to become a walking parts catalogue

Sticking 850cc injectors onto an RB25DET?
Steve replied to T0nyGTSt's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I think Tony hit the name on the head "name". -
Tony, hillsmotorsport: $895 fitted, flows 95cfm per runner better than stock, and they look a million bucks.
-
Or you could make it the BIGGEST SAU CRUISE ever - pick up fellow members on the way and start an annual round australia cruise - just like the bikies do:D Group buy wolfs in WA, and a big track day and BBQ before heading home! What do you say Steve? discount for interstate SAU members?
-
How would under 3K sound for a HKS 2835 56T sound?
-
Thanks Paul, What else - well basically what is the full functionality, what extras are needed to run what? I am very interested in the auxilliary control features, temp compensation, dual control for thermo fans? etc. - just as much as you can get your head around telling me really. have seen Steve pushing them pretty hard, so he must be pretty impressed with them which says alot for the ECU, also you seem pretty wrapped in yours. Just when I mention wolf and R33 over hear, people sort of duck for cover, I have had one place say 'bring it down and I will tell you what I think, but the last one I had anything to do with wasnt that good' (no specifics) - all end up just saying 'get a power fc'. Well I got a power fc, but doesnt wolf have sequential firing? And nobody knows. So I NEED to know about them thoroughly before I decide to go for it and then find no one can tune them. Thats another thing that would be good, a run down on how the tuning software is? I am a bit worried about any ECU that can be tuned for $200 - that sounds far too cheap for a good tune on a comprehensive ECU?????? From all that I have read the V4.1 would be better (almost) than an Autronic, esp when you consider its plug and play AND alot cheaper. Its a shame that the ECU guys cant get on here and do a bit of hard sell, so we all have the most up to date details and can then make an informed decision. And lastly - could you tell me exactly which model to get? It seems there may be more than one around at the moment? Thanks again Steve
-
Paul, I sent him a pm, he basically told me to have a look on the website and see my local distributor. Mentioned a few of the functions, but I need detail. Eg the website says wolf V4 only has 4 ign drivers - ie batch fire? The tuning shops I have spoken to over hear have said to steer clear
