  1. S13 Sylvia, there is a guy with a set for sale at the moment - check the for sale section.
  2. Hi Roy, I have 17x9 ANZ wheels(rear), offset I am pretty sure is 44. the 17x8s (front) are 33 once again pretty sure. This was the offset recommended by ANZ and they fit perfectly. Perhaps you could give them a ring and ask what offset they use just to confirm? Steve
  3. Paul, I am pretty sure C-red employ one on there 'big red' GTR, might be worth asking Lumpy or Jash?
  4. Checked with the local supplier and the US factory, both quoted about the same for 6" rods - about $2400 - so no luck, sorry guys Steve
  5. Build no 1 of 100 - that's gotta be collectable?
  6. As for ECUs, there are alot of good ones around. Best find a tuner that you trust and see what he recommends. The best ECU in the world is only as good as the guy tuning it. Alot of people (as I have) go for the power fc as it is tried tested and works well - but it really does depend on who is programming it. As for turbo - it is impossible to make any sort of recommendations unless you can be a bit more specific about what you want the car to do, eg hp, application (drag, street, strip), etc. Also really need to know what sort of mods you have or are wanting to get, as this can have a huge bearing as well. Steve
  7. I 'believe' that this problem is more a GTR one (although GTSts can have it too) becuase of the front wheel drive? Could be wrong - anyone know for sure? Steve
  8. TIMMMAYYY - thats why I suggested brake cleaner, not totally sure if it will clean the nooks and crannies, but everything I have attacked with it, all the dirt just disappears. If you dont have any and dont want to risk the less than $10 a can will set you back, drop me a pm and you can do a test with a tin I have lying around unemployed.
  9. Got quoted $400 from a place in adelaide to fit and fabricate add on for the bottom of the sump and baffeling. Increase the oil capacity too, which aint a bad thing.
  10. Good on you SIKR33, for sharing something with everyone else. That is after all what this forum is all about, as is the constructive comments that have been posted - IMHO. 2500 members, you cant expect them all to get along unfortunately.
  11. If you already have a mines chip, I wouldnt be expecting too much, but a SAFC2 definately wont hurt. I believe some lads on here have quoted gains in the region of 10-20rwkw+, but I am not sure how much boost or with or without coola etc so I wont try and bullshit you - I really dont know. Perhaps someone else might be better qualified to answer that one????
  12. That must have been a pretty good stocker, mine gave up at about when the coola went in!
  13. Would like to know how this works. My (limited) understanding is that electricity travels at the speed of light, and if you up the current to a circuit designed to operate at a specific amperage, all you do is risk doing damage.????? anyone thow some light on this for me? Cheers Steve
  14. Hi Champinco and welcome. Another thing would be worth doing is have a look through the previous threads (do a search), as all of what you are asking has been asked before. Then if you still have questions, post em up. Steve
  15. Still not 100%. Do you have any idea of the size difference between RB25 and RB30 rods? Would they not be very similar in size?
  16. Have you tried brake cleaner?
  17. MattR, sounds like rev limiter launches for you then:) At least your TS is up there
  18. TUFR33, think you will have trouble getting there with a stock coola. Turbo should be OK, as several people have had over 200rwkw with the stocky. You should be just ok with the fuel system if it is healthy to begin with, but will be at its limits. You most probably will need some sort of management, unless you have one of these freakish series II ECUs, but time will tell. I have just over 200 on a dyno dynamics dyno (tilbrooks), with power fc, EBC, pod (with partition and CAI), full exhaust - heat wrapped dump, FMIC, Z32 afm and 0.85bar boost. My injectors are on their last legs, as I guess my fuel pump will be too. Hope this gives you some sort of idea - but there is more than one way to skin a cat, (or should the experession be updated to gut a cat... ) and there will always be slight differences car to car. Lastly, you will have to get a new clutch - best do this one early as it is a bit disappointing (personal experience:p ) when you mod then cant drive it properly, or tune it properly till you upgrade the clutch. Just my 0.02 hope it helps
  19. Thanks for the info GR8NES, shall see what I can dig up - fingers crossed.
  20. Just did a bit more research after asking those questions. Chev 6" rods are used on the 350 and 400 - are these the ones we are talking about GR8NES? Cos if so, I will shoot an e-mail off to carillo and get the low down on the rating per rod, and the cost. Cheers Steve
  21. GR8NES, can you confirm that the rods to suit an RB25 are 6"? What are the exact dimensions. Also what Chev block is it that uses these rods that are the same size as the RB ones? Sorry, these are alot of questions, but if one company makes them (chev rods) - alot of companies will make them, and from what sydneykid was hinting at, I will bet that there is a company out there that makes the right size, at the right hp rating, and the right price - just not under the nissan tag. Sorry there are a few questions here, but I wouldnt mind doing a bit more research myself and then post up any results for all to share Cheers Steve
  22. Hey Enrico, finally arrived eh - welcome to the club:) and just in time before the new import rules are fully enforced.
  23. Well, I think you are right. But alot of it is probably based on the fact that Rev is not new to the game. Having valuable experience means he can get a combo of mods right for maximum gains, so maximum bang for buck. This combined with someone that quite obviously knows how to drive - ie consistant times, and perhaps the real potential of the GTST is being shown. I am under the impression that experience, above and beyond knowledge, is what makes a real difference in the real world. Sort of gives you something to aim for when someone else is getting better times with similar or less mods - ask yourself 'what am I doing wrong' and try to improve. It seems to me that alot of people just bolt on more bits in an attempt to improve times, when the real handicap is the driver. I had a mate in the west who likes taking cars down the strip. When he doesnt get a time that he believes his car is capable of, he looks at how to maximise the performane he has without bolting more on, then when he is happy he adds more and moves the bar up a notch - isnt this what it is all about? Jeez, starting to waffle a bit now.
  24. INASNT, would you let someone else take your car down the 1/4? Considering the mods to rev's car, and on stock tires IMHO you must be a good driver to be getting those times? TUFR33 - Met Blue GTST's car, according to Lumpy (the tuner at C-Red, and quite respected) "goes quite hard" that was in the trim that he (Met Blue GTST) stated, approx 250rwhp. Not too many skylines put down those sort of figures with stock turbo and coola, but it gives you an idea of what is possible. But, seriously, with anything above 10psi boost with stock turbo and coola, you are taking chances with the turbo. Did you actually have a power figure in mind or are you just wondering what is possible? Steve
  25. Munro, thanks for a really interesting reply, never realised it would be so involved. Have fun Sat night. Would be good if anyone could get some vid of you on a run and put it up for us not fortunate enough to be there with you. Cheers Steve
