  1. Sorry, I can't help much with your request. I had a look on epc-data and there isn't anything listed about coilovers for this model. That said, I highly doubt any components from Nissan will come out cheaper than an aftermarket coilover setup. for example, the Nismo optional suspension on the 350GT sedan is over $2k just for the shocks and springs for genuine parts. As far as I was aware Zenki was just Japanese for 'old' or 'series 1', where as Kouki was 'new' or 'Series 2'. Not sure that applies to the 300GT though as there was no series 2.
  2. Nice work.. good to hear it was nothing serious!
  3. hmm.. if it was bushes, I would expected to have seen some change with brakes, possibly steering linkages, but I would think that would be more obvious. I know you checked, but the only thing I can think of that lines up with the symptoms well is a loose splash guard or fender liner. Giving it a boot full of throttle shouldn't have broken anything in the front suspension, it is just there to steer and brake.
  4. well, I wouldn't expect a fuel system issue to throw MAF related error codes.
  5. download the G35 FSM. http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/infiniti-g35-g37-factory-service-manuals.html Torque specs should not be different between USA and Japan. Probably won't have anything related to the transmission though.
  6. have you checked for loose plastic inner guard covers, sounds like something slapping around in there, maybe some of the plastic clips have broken? Other than that, possibly bad bushes. Does the noise go away if you apply brakes?
  7. If you are seeing MAF errors and are certain it isn't the MAF sensor, have you checked for vacuum leaks?
  8. have you just checked the transmission oil level? Low oil will likely cause transmission noise and make shifts harder. does the noise disappear when you push the clutch in? Seat belt warning may just be a bad switch on the seat belt buckle.
  9. They are RWD anyway. I have heard rumours that the VDC off only partially disables VDC, and holding it down for 10sec will turn it off fully. I have never tested this though. I suggest you find a suitable location to test it (private property or race track), and give it a try. Disconnecting the yaw sensor may work too, but it will also throw plenty of warning lights.
  10. All V35s have 80L tanks according to the official Nissan documentation.
  11. Since the 250GT V36 isn't eligible for import under SEVS, let alone the AWD version, I doubt you will get much certainty from anyone here.
  12. I assume when you specify the transmission came out of a 'coupe' means you have a sedan? In which case, which one? if you have a 250GT, the transmission is different, the 250GT has a 4sp auto, the 350GT has a 5sp. Also, you may have a 350GT-8 which has a CVT which will also be incompatible. Sorry, as above, until we know where you live, I doubt anyone will be able to recommend a good transmission shop.
  13. The clutch master and slave shouldn't care if you are at full throttle or at 1/10 throttle, it only has to release the clutch. just taking a wild guess here but perhaps the twisting of the engine/transmission under a hard launch is causing the issue, have you had the flexible hose changed? Otherwise, it could be a pressure plate or clutch fork issue. As for the tramp/shudder, I would check rear suspension bushes. Not sure about the V36, but the diff mounting bushes went bad after a while on the V35, so check these too. I don't actually have a V36, so just giving some general suggestions.
  14. series 2/3 has the hazard light switch below the ashtray (very late 04 onwards). the series 1 dash was quite different in multiple areas.
  15. I Would agree with the others, possibly rpm dropping too low, or it could be a sender issue, if you can confirm the RPM isn't dropping below 650rpm when you press the clutch, then perhaps have the mechanic fit a pressure gauge and take it for a drive to check oil pressure figures.
  16. I suspect it is probably a generic image and doesn't reflect what the actual item looks like. But it might be worth contacting a supplier with the part number and asking them to confirm.
  17. Have you seen them on V36 Sedans before? or on V36 Coupes? if they are anything like the V35, the coupes have different guards and can fit lower offset rims. The V35 coupe rims on my V35 sedan sit flush with the edge of the guards on the rear, but are well within the guards on the coupe.
  18. G35 could be a V35 chassis or V36 chassis, if it is a V35, it will have the VQ35DE (280hp) or VQ35DE revup engine, if it is the V36, it will have the VQ35HR like the V36 skyline 350GT. unfortunately just the label 'Infiniti G35' doesn't define which chassis it is.
  19. 2nd hand door in the same colour?
  20. Not a coupe, but I have 18 coupe rims on my sedan, originally came with 225/45 front and 245/45 rear. with my last tyre change I went with 245/45 all round, VDC had a bit of a heart attack for about the first 500M, then settled down and has been happy since then. Since the stock sedan tyres are square, it seems VDC can figure itself out when you change from staggered to square or vice versa. Not relevant to a coupe, but I had to roll the rear guards slightly, fronts are fine. I can't see how 245/45 all round will be any issues at all with guards on a coupe. I also use mine as a daily, I fitted Maxxis MA511 tyres, as per the recommendation for use as a daily from the tyre shop. they are a low-mid priced tyre and I have found they are a low-mid performing tyre. Next time around I will certainly be investing a few more $$ to get a better tyre.
  21. check the build plate for the transmission code. the CVT started with RE0R..... (I think) the 6sp manual starts with RS6R... But the centre console certainly looks like a bit of a auto/manual hybrid. I also had the clutch hose spring a leak on my sedan, soon after working on the slave cylinder. I just replaced it with one of these. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HEL-Braided-CLUTCH-Line-kit-Nissan-Z33-350Z-OEM-Layout-/271391526298?hash=item3f30320d9a:m:mBDBMCQBNUHRjX8PIIkIcHA I have coupe 18x8 rims on mine, which have a +30 offset, with 245/45 tyres, I had to roll the rear guards slightly to stop them rubbing. If you want to go with +12 and 10in rims, you will need lots of camber to prevent rubbing. Factory standard exhaust was not Nismo and was round tips.
  22. ^^ this. We had a dented door on my wife's J31 maxima a couple of years ago, door reskin and respray with blending onto adjoining panels.. $2.5k. With the V35 being an import, I expect it will be more. No way will that be anything less than a reskin. If you want to avoid insurance, I would see if you can find a complete door from a wrecker in the same colour.
  23. currently running Maxxis MA511 as was recommended as a decent tyre for a good price by a tyre dealer, but no, I don't recommend them on a car like this, they are about what you would expect for a low-mid priced tyre in the dry, average steering response, not really great grip, but reasonably predictable. In the wet, they aren't nice at all, they will break traction quite easily and unpredictably and as they wear, they are getting worse. Once they are worn out, I will probably pay the extra for something like Michelin PS3. I had Kumho KU36 on the front before that, they were a nice tyre, but stupidly noisy.
  24. They look like coupe V35 18s. I have these on my V35 sedan and I am running 245/45 all round without issue. I find 245 a good width for these rims, they protrude just far enough past the rim so you don't tear up your rims if you touch a gutter, but not too far that they bulge. Factory tyre sizes on these rims on the coupe was 245/45 rear, 225/45 front. Just FYI, there is no such thing as a G36. You have a V36.
