  1. correct.. the double DIN Facia is a replacement for the stereo.. not for the factory Navi Screen.
  2. there are 2 parts here. If you want to get rid of the factory Navi screen, you will need to find the top pocket that comes with the non-navi version to fill in the hole. As for the double din.. you will need something like this - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/JDM-INFINITI-NISSAN-SKYLINE-G35-DOUBLE-DIN-DASH-KIT-IN-BLACK-W-AC-CONTROL-UNIT-/231118504199 It replaces the front panel where the factory HU is, and includes the required AC control buttons.
  3. ^^ don't take it to a dealer.. take it to someone who knows Nissans! Most dealers have a natural phobia to grey imports and will try their best to wipe their hands of them.
  4. I have been using the Blatz cable and nissandatascan for a while now. Works for the ECU, ABS and SRS, don't know about the TCU as I have a 6sp. Can also do immobiliser key programming if you have the PIN for your ECU.
  5. I don't have a V36, but I am not sure why they would put a rubber coupling in there and then not make it replaceable. The rear diff mount bush is fluid filled and when it splits, you end up with a silicone oil dribbling off it, which dries to a brown mess. I think the front bushes may also be fluid filled, perhaps these have leaked onto the tailshaft and been mis-diagnosed. Anyone that knows nissans should be able to look at this for you, as they are basically a 350/370Z with a 4dr sedan body.
  6. Not sure what they mean by 'tailshaft rubber coupling'. they do have a centre bearing which may be supported on rubber brackets?? or they are referring to the differential mounts? - http://nissan.epcdata.ru/skyline/pv36/7255-vq35hr/trans/370/ As for the 2nd item, sounds like they are talking about the diff mount in the rear carrier/subframe. Nissan don't sell this bush separatly.. so if you want the genuine bush, you need to buy the entire subframe!! Whiteline make an aftermarket kit. - https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=12051 - you should be able to buy this kit locally though. they may need to drop the subframe to press out the old bushing, or they can just do what everyone else does and cut the old one out. I guess they are just too scared to do either!
  7. +1 for sway bars. no idea about the bracing on these cars in particular.. but I know on some cars they can impact safety by preventing the engine from 'ducking' under the car in a severe frontal impact, and it caves in the firewall instead.
  8. I am fairly sure the CVT was available at least until 2005.. possibly through to the end of the V35 sedan run in 2006. EDIT - yep.. 2006 - https://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan%20car/nissan/skyline/15080873/
  9. ^^ please stop tempting me!!
  10. I believe there was some issues on the early V36, but there was an ECU update to fix it, problem was Nissan Japan refuses to supply the update to Australian Dealers. If the car was recently imported, chances are it has had the update applied before it left Japan. Not sure if there is any easy way to tell though. And yes, it is a Skyline. If it was an Infiniti, the steering wheel would be on the other side. I don't think there were any RHD Infinitis in 2008, but plenty of people that put Infiniti badges on their Skylines. They are the same car anyway.
  11. The CVT equipped V35 has paddle shifters on the steering wheel, and usually carries the name 350GT-8, although not on the actual badge on the rear. I wouldn't have a problem with a 350GT V36 if I had the option and wanted an auto, the main reason I went for a V35 is because I wanted a 6sp Manual Sedan. If money wasn't an issue, I would look for a 2010+ V36.
  12. Just avoid the V35 CVT if you don't want the problems associated with it. It was only an option anyway.. you can still get the standard 5sp auto or 6sp manual on the V35 Sedan. Or go with the KV36 (2008+) 370GT. (not sure which ones come with paddle shifters though)
  13. That is at the flywheel.. which would probably translate into about 160rwkw (rear wheel KW) at a rough guess.
  14. As per the title, if anyone has purchased the SPL front upper arms and doesn't want the +1deg shims and ABS sensor shims, I am interested in buying them!
  15. I would start with a throttle body clean and a idle air volume re-learn and see how it goes.
  16. +1 to the above.. I installed one of the kits Leon supplied a few years back and it has been excellent. The ability to make adjustments to gain and sensitivity make it much better than factory cruise control units I have used in the past! The clutch switch for the manual was an easy add-on.
  17. Assuming you are talking all V36 sedans here?? If so, I would probably buy a 350GT, mainly because a late V36 350GT can be had for a much better price than an early V36 370GT sedan. But if money was not a barrier, I would go for a 2010+ V36 370GT.
  18. Since a G37 IS a V36, I would be very surprises if they didn't.
  19. I'm sure I posted a link in this thread to the Nissan Japan webpage, which will tell you what features are premium and what are options. Don't have time to search right now. Edit- here it ishttp://translate.google.com/translate?prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fhistory.nissan.co.jp%2FSKYLINE%2FV35%2F0411%2FGRADE%2Fmain6.html&sl=ja&tl=en&history_state0=
  20. .. I doubt it all the time!
  21. None!!. The CVT was only an option on the series 1 sedans. 2001-2004. Titiled 350GT-8. There were no CVT coupes.
  22. That was quick.. did you get your asking price? (if you don't mind saying). Would be good to get a ballpark of what my Series2 manual sedan is worth on the private sales market.
  23. If you are paying that much for a door lock mechanisms, or window motors, you need a new supplier of parts! A quick google search will show you can get a genuine item for far less. As mentioned, a figure of round $2-300 is normal.. If you buy from an Australian Nissan dealer, you will pay 4 times the price and wait about 10 times longer for it.
