  1. on the sedans, I believe it is only on the 350GT Manual or CVT. It's standard on all coupes..
  2. That has to be one of the tidest installs I have seen.. Asthetically, it's awesome.. would be good to see some specs though.
  3. Sorry, I didn't get to this last night.. I got home fairly late. I have attached a scan from the clarion FSM.. but this is for the G35 HU, so not sure if it will be the same as the JDM HU. Might help though. I will endevor to have a look at the JDM one at home tonight. clarion.pdf
  4. I don't have a definitive answer, but many have stated that if you just press the VDC off button, that it does still work if you exceed 60km/h or really get out of shape. I have also heard if you hold it down for 10sec, it turns off completly.. Haven't actually tested any of this myself though. - and no idea if it impacts wanabe said..
  5. 1st car was a 1966 black HR holden sedan.. looked like hearse... .. had that for 1 year until I could afford a real car. 2nd was a 1986 grandpa beige coloured Aust built R31 skyline 5sp manual - had that 5 years and sold to a friend (who drive it into the ground over the next 10) 3rd was a 1993 Maroon J30 Maxima Ti. Had that for 13 years until a broken crank shot it dead late last year. Current 2005 silver V35 sedan - 350GT 6MT. Wife has a 2007 white J31 Maxima ST-L.
  6. I have a 05 stock non-bose HU in the cupboard at home, I can have a look tonight if you like.
  7. No probs.. I stand corrected with this too, the Bose stereo was an option on the non-premium.. looks like the only items that are 'premium only' are the half leather seats and the 'Combination suede leather Pearl - ground sheet' - whatever that is (probably lost in translation).
  8. Sure, if you can do that.. But I intended to mean a private/personal vehicle.
  9. I have never bought a new car, and probably never will.. wait a couple of years and buy one with a 40-50k km on it with a good service history for 50% of the new price. the new car smell and feel isn't worth that much to me.
  10. FYI - http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fhistory.nissan.co.jp%2FSKYLINE%2FV35%2F0411%2FDATA%2Fmain1_2.html
  11. The only way to get a Bose system was to buy the premium model.. you can't option the base model with a Bose stereo. However, most other 'premium' items can be optioned on a base model. Eg, dual zone climate - steering wheel audio controls, etc.
  12. ^^ I hope you were drinking coffee at the time.. or you might want to see a doctor about that!
  13. Perhaps the Series1 controls are different??. But the S2 double DIN facias are avaiable with or without the dual button. Swapping the S2 dual button onto a panel that doesn't have it, is about a 5 minute job if you are handy with a soldering iron.. it simply a matter of unsoldering the momentry switch from the donar board and soldering it into the new board.. then swapping the actual facia item. As Nightcrawler said.. dual zone climate control is just a gimick that you never use.. but I do understand the desire to have it working, if your car comes with it..
  14. I would assume, if you already have a single DIN head unit in place, then it must have the double DIN facia, as you can't install a standard head unit with the original factory facia. If you can get your hands on a facia that has the 'dual' button for the aircon, you can swap the button on to the double DIN facia you currently have.
  15. Nice colour!
  16. the on road price for the M starts at above $94k. if the base price of the G is $10k less, then you are still looking at over $80k driveaway for the G.. but since the 370z starts at around $74k driveaway, there should be a good number of buyers willing to pay an extra $10k for a 'luxury' verison of the 370z.
  17. It certainly isn't ideal, but I don't think it is all that brutal to the auto, after all, V35 autos aren't failing prematurely. The engine is reving but it drops fairly quick when you engage drive. So it isn't like holding half throttle and dropping it into drive and chirping the tyres. I would wait if you have time, but not be too worried about it if you don't. It is probably worse for the engine and transmission mounts.
  18. About the only think that could have prevented compliance is the tyres, but as far as I am aware it doesn't need to have new tyres, just ADR compliant tyres. the air filter sounds like someone either didn't do it, or swapped it out again later. Personally I would be replacing fluids and filters anyway, unless you know the mechanic who did the service and can confirm that it was done.
  19. too many tonys.. also my particularly bad grammer.. should have been 'what is said is correct'..
  20. I think this is only required on certain cars.. for example the 300ZX required side intrusion bars, and maybe seatbelts. I am fairly sure the V35s don't require this for compliance. To the OP, as others have mentioned, most of those items are service/roadworth issues, not compliance requirements. And you would have to check what 'full service' is.. it might not include and air filter and cabin filter. If it was sold to you with a roadworthy/safety certificate, and it had no center brake light, illegal tyres, illegal brakes. I would take it back to the workshop that supplied the certificate and ask them to fix it, or report them.
  21. Listen to Tony.. what is says is correct.. there should be plenty of high intensity red LEDs available, you just might need to look further than Jaycar. I also suggest you replace all of them while you am there, even if you can get the same spec LEDs, the older LEDs will have lost some of their intensity, and you could end up with a 'hot spot'. Does the center brake light really use SMD LEDs? I expected they would be normal 5mm LEDs.
  22. Yeah.. $110,000, and they aren't even importing the M56!!
  23. I have heard rumors of a G sedan in mid 2013.. probably just rumors at this stage though.. Prices for the M are approx $94,000 - $110,000. depnding on spec and colour. http://forms.infiniticars.com.au/PublicWeb/PricingCalculator/pricing_calculator.jspx?model=Y512
  24. I wonder if the Commodore and Hyundai Di engines are going to have the same issues? If there was an easy solution I expect Nissan would have kept them..
